I recently bought a 2000 Legacy wagon with 268000 miles. AC didn't work at first but I recharged it and it worked great. Now the vents are either putting out really hot air or AC air. The temp control know doesn't seem to change anything. Some mornings it blows only cold air and some mornings it blows only really hot air. Same with the afternoon. Temp gauge stays in normal range and doesn't fluctuate. Warms up as it should. I recently took out the instrument cluster and radio and had to disconnect the temp control connectors to do so. Put everything back as it was. Fan controls work fine. Any suggestions on what could be going on would be greatly appreciated.
