  1. cleaned the MAF, cleaned a bunch of grounds, switched packs around (misfire stayed in 1&2), and replaced spark plugs. im still getting misfire codes, but my power cut seems to have gone away at least up until 4000 revs. I've listened to the valves, and theyre ticking along it seems (at least at idle) my next move is checking timing, I guess. Wish me luck.
  2. Well guys, dropped the downpipe and found no play in the shaft (woo hoo) but I'm no closer to a diagnosis. I also swapped the crank position sensor, and it didn't seem to do much. got a set of cam position sensors as well. will probably do those in the next couple days. still haven't played around with the coil packs yet. that's next on the list.
  3. Well guys, I spent a little more time driving it today and tried to make as many observations as I could. It seems to have a very normal idle, and feels just about normal up until around 4k revs, then the lack of power becomes really apparent. If I put the pedal down, and drive the revs up, it starts making a loud clicking not sure at all what it could be. (no, it's not knock) could it be an AVCS thing?? I don't entirely understand it. I did pull up my boost vs my target boost and noticed that I wasn't getting anywhere close. Hopefully that's a symptom of something smaller and not a sign that my turbo is buggered. I've got another log here as well. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1B2R-3KMU-oQgR5NRlT2czsplifeTj1F7/view?usp=sharing
  4. did not replace the pcv valve. is it possible that's my culprit? theres a really strong chance my heat shields are causing some knock feedback. they're ultra rusty. (one fell off the last time I drove a dirt road) I could definitely come back with another log showing O2 sensor data (could post it up late tomorrow night)
  5. Did check the T, and the hose from it to the manifold, and at least felt around on that connection all seemed to be well but could be worng. as for the turbo, had it off a year ago and the shaft play was pretty miniscule. just enough to feel, but it really wasn't even visible. smoke test may be a smart move, although I may hit it with my DIY boost leak tester and some soapy water first.
  6. in order here, yes, cel went away right after the work was finished initially. (without an ecu restart) After I started getting big time power loss and the cel came on for misfires, I did go through and look for blown off hoses. the blue T looked to still be connected as well as the line that goes to the evap purge valve. ( at least visually, however it sounds like that is likely the culprit for something afoul in the vacuum system, so I'll probably just redo those lines here in the next day or two. As for the misfires, Yeah I'll play around with the coil packs and see if my misfires follow the packs.
  7. I've redone the tb to intercooler coupler, and that was one of the first things I checked after the new issue began. all looks good. the ring seals hadn't turned inside out like theyre prone to doing, so I just re snugged the clamps and looked elsewhere.
  8. I do... I hear vaguely negative things about running one but ive never heard specifically what issues they cause.
  9. Howdy guys, long time lurker here first time poster. looking for a little help that might save me some sanity. So... I bought my 05 Legacy GT with blown head gaskets about a year and a half ago, pulled the motor, and did the head gaskets and once I got everything back in, I had a real persistent boost spiking issue. I lived with it for longer than I'd like to admit, but started slowly replacing possible culprits until finally last week, I caved and committed to the full vacuum overhaul. Bought some silicone tube and replaced all of the oe lines, and replaced my turbo inlet while I was at it since it was raunchy. (went OEM) Well, after I got it all together again, It ran right for the first time since I've owned it. no boost spiking, and my CEL for evap purge circuit went away. I was stoked! skip forward 12 hours. I'm merging on to the highway and giving it the beans since I can finally put the pedal all the way down without issue. As I shift into fifth, all of a sudden i feel a pronounced power cut. the intake/ exhaust take on a lower tone, and I can no longer accelerate. my speed falls to about 60 and with my foot steady on the pedal , the car begins to slightly accelerate and decelerate in waves. I read codes and am coming up with P301 and P302 (misfire in cyl 1 and misfire in cyl 2) and also, the code is back for the evap circuit. I've checked all my vacuum connections (all look good) and restarted the ecu, no dice. So here I am, not exactly sure where to start with diagnosis / repair. I mean obviously i can start replacing spark plugs or injectors, and connections etc, but I feel like it must be tied to the maintenance I did to it, I'm just not sure how, and could use the help of someone more knowledgeable than myself. Attached is a datalog from my accessport if it helps. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1K6gZIGKaC7dCtS60M8ayjpPzsU1uoRHx/view?usp=sharing thanks in advance.
