I think I've solved it. The EU HU (pre face lift) has to be equipped with LAN module, which in case of USDM stereo was already installed within. Unfortunately the LAN module used to be installed only on H6 or GT (which was not sold in Europe). So, it is possible, but there has to be the module between stereo and steering wheel. Subaru has still got it in their offer but the price is like 220 dollars for actually small insignificant piece of electronic... Damn. The other option is to get the face lift stereo (GX-204) which has got the module inside. That's all.

Guys, may be some one could help with this. I've been through this entire thread and still can't finish the job. My HU is a single CD one (GX-201LHF2) and I did the connection for an illumination following this instruction. And this is ok and is working as it should but the problem is (at least to me) with two wires for signal. I just don't know where to plug'em in. The HU has got 3 plugs on the rear panel. The big white one, standard for all types I guess (speakers and so on), the 20 pin black one for an external CD changer, and the 8 pin black one for something, I'm not quite sure for what. Could anybody support me with this, please? Thanks in advance.
