  1. What's the longest people are waiting to get a call back from the dealer when the airbag is backordered?

I haven't heard anything in over a month (full disclosure I forgot I even went and am going to call them today if I have a chance).

  2. Question for anyone who's done this.

Cylinders 1 and 2 seem naturally easiest to do since there's more room.

Any tips for the removal of 3 and 4?

I have to do this procedure soon and looked over the rear ones and it's obvious that there's less room.

Cylinder 3: Obviously you have to move the coolant tank out of the way, no big deal.

Cylinder 4: There's a bunch of hoses in the way...I guess just push them aside? It looks tight on space on that side.

Also, how long does it take the engine to die when the fuse is pulled? I want to relieve pressure with the car in the garage but I don't want an excessive amount of fumes in there either.

  3. That rear diff pictured is not our diff. And while firming up all the bushings is necessary, the upgraded one shown is not the most responsible for allowing the rear diff to rotate. That is handled by two longitudinal studs that fit into bushings in the rear subframe. I'm not sure but I don't think the car pictured has our subframe.

The two studs on the rear cover of the diff, for our cars (check the vac pic data), fit into two common, floppy, bushings in the rear subframe to both locate it as well as contain its tendency to rotate. These are the bushings I have partially modified and will be finalizing shortly with the 3M poly. As it is, however, the noise is all but gone, muted and unnoticeable were I not searching for it. The filling of the entire bushing with the poly should fix those two bushings.

But the other two in the forward end of the rear LCA must be addressed similarly to complete the job. I have a solid PVC spacer in the rearward (most obviously worn) slot of the two in those bushings, and will fill in the rest with the 3M when I do all four bushings.

Again, until this is done I won't know if it will be necessary to address the engine mounts as well. From what I experience now that may not be necessary. Time will tell. However, once you look at the rear and see that it is a combination of wheel hop and oscillating traction it become obvious what the players are. This problem is as old as cars. But because of our great four wheel drive and, relatively, mild horsepower only those who have significantly increased their power to the wheels can cross that barrier and break traction.

It is worse when you are OVER the traction threshold but not powerful enough to really burn them, just grab/spin/grab. This is what kills parts.

I just checked my car and it does look like the car pictured. I do have the piece that the Beatrush product replaces as well.

I know what you're referring to in regards to the two studs on the rear cover to help stop rotation but after looking over the PDF in the "vacation pix" I think this would help as well (maybe not as much as stiffening the rear though).

I do think trying to fill in the stock bushings with the 3M poly is worth a shot though. I would definitely try that first as you've already started.

    Good luck man! :)http://legacygt.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

  4. Installed Cobb springs last weekend. Looks so nice now!!!

Thank you for a walkthrough. Rear and fronts came out really easy - I've

sprayed them with BP blaster a couple days ago,

    repeting application night before.

Today I found that I have an issue with noise: making full steering wheel turn , it makes squeeze noise.. like rubber to a rubber noise.

Looked at tophat nuts - they rotate (with the rod) when I am rotating the wheels.. Is it how it should be? can somebody check if they rotates on others car?

The spring itself sits where it should be, bottom and top.

Also some "clunking" noise over a bumps.. Hope it will gone soon.

    Thanks, Alex

Did you put the spring seat on correctly? One thing this write up doesn't tell you about is the way it has to be oriented during re-assembly.

  5. I saw you around 12 yesterday. I tried to beep guess you didn't hear me I was right next to you.

Hmmm I didn't notice anyone beeping, I might've been on the phone.

Every Saturday (and most the time Sunday) I'm at the park from 9 AM till just about 12 PM. I'll keep an eye out next time I'm by the Tea building.

  6. OBP Sedan w/ rims, trunk lid spoiler and an exhaust on 12th st in Hoboken near the "Tea" Building. I was coming out of mt garage you were going right towars Weehawken.

    Joon?

Yep, that was me. I saw a silver GT parked in down by the soccer fields/Wiley building earlier this morning.

EDIT: Oh that was yesterday, I was there today as well but this time the car was washed.

  7. so anyone ever drive on the Taconic State Pkwy? I never spot anyone on there besides some N/A's but the drivers are some 40+ yr old women.

I do and will be on it today on my way to Ultimate Collision. I'm only on it when I go Ultimate from work though. Should be on it around 4:15.

  8. forgot to post this yesterday but I saw an OBP LGT going towards rockland on the TZ bridge around 4:20-4:30 yesterday afternoon. Tints, exhaust, mesh grille, jersey plates. Anyone??

Sounds like me. If you were the blue wagon with exhaust, me noticing you in the rear view made me miss my exit.

Anyway, you noticed me once before too in this same thread. :icon_mrgr

  9. spotted a black GT with Jersey plates gettin off the northbound thruway at exit 10 in south nyack (right after you come off the TZ bridge). Looked like no trunk spoiler, RBS grill. Black rims.

Sounds like me depending on the time you saw the car. If it was about 4:20-4:30 it was probably me.
