I got pulled over the other night because my tail-lights weren't on ! . No ticket, but I had to explain the DRL thingy. The cop thought the car had some bright DRLs
At least you guys don't drive a saturn, where they use high beams at full intensity.....

uh...no it's not.
yes it is.

....I mean...how much more time does it take for people to push the same button on your remote twice to unlock all the doors?
That's like asking how much effort does it take to wait another 4 seconds to get to 60?
-
How about a general location pic?

Hmm, it opens up possibilites with the extra wire. Remote starter without carrying an extra fob? A sunroof open or close?
Maybe.
Be sure to check what comes out of that wire before you hook it up to anything else. I examined the schematic to confirm that this hack simply groups all 4 of the identical door locks together, but I didn't analyze what the exact signal was for locking and unlocking.
Door locking solenoids typically have 2 wires going to them, and the polarity changes between lock and unlock.
So before using the wire for some new purpose, find out what it does when:
a) you push the unlock button the first time
b) when you push the unlock button the second time
c) you push the lock button
I don't have the schematic, but it seems to me there are two outputs from the alarm/remote unit, one of which you don't use anymore (double unlock)? I am speaking of this. BTW where are you getting the schematic?

(edit - this is for 2005 and 2006 models only)
This walkthrough shows you exactly where everything is, and also how to remove fasteners and parts without breaking anything.
Green arrows, DRL module
Red arrows, panel attachments
1. Lower the panel above the pedals
- There are three plastic attachments for the lower panel. For the two in each side, turn counterclockwise 90 degrees, and the screw head part will pop out, now you can grab it by hand and pull it out completey.
- The middle attachment you must use firm pressure on to pull it out.
2. You will see the DRL module on the firewall with a white and black connector. If you can read the green sticker on the top it will say "DRL" on it.
3. Pull the white connector out only, secure it so it does not rattle, perhaps with a zip-tie as shown
4. Put the panel back.
- Just push the middle attachment back in
- With the "screw head" part of the black attachments extended, push it into the two holes on the sides. Then push the screw head in to lock it into place.

What is this button for?
