  1. pre shrink the rear window, it is the best way to get it to stick and fit well. my best friend owned a tint, audio and performance shop for years, ive done a little of everything there. ask away if you end up with questions on it

I’m assuming you mean to trim to shape on outside of rear window. Use heat gun to form and then install inside

  2. Pulled skirts and rear valence off a car today. It was a sedan and I thought the rear would work. Don’t care since I sold the valence already for 25$ and I paid 50$ for the whole skirt set. They’re pretty rough but I’ll work on em.

  3. The eyelids make your car look half asleep haha

How'd you get the active tire display? Is it something that someone could buy?

Not sold on eyelids but again easy to take on and off so I’ll keep em cuz they’re rare too

As for the tire pressure monitoring It is something that anyone could buy. Check out driftdialects.com and you can pick up some. Amazon also has options.

Today was rainy as hell so I was inside painting some bits. Tomorrow I am picking up some rear skirts and side skirts off a gt model wagon. I know a lot of people don’t paint them body color but I’m gonna. I am using plastic adhesion promoter and a full oem style paint kit and things are turning out great!

Also the tint is coming out nice. I need to work on my technique as I have never tinted and really only watched one Mighty car Mods video on how to do it. I love me some MCM. But I have a lot of 3m tint so I will get it all done on the car eventually. Need nicer weather as I have no covered space.

  4. Finally got them installed. Took close to 10hours total id say. Learned a lot and would do differently next time.

Now trying my hand at tinting. Did just one window to see how my technique is. Will return to see how it turns out tomorrow once the bubbles dry out:

Currently painting my eyelids. Not sure if I’m gonna run them but I just might considering I don’t see them often on leggys and they are really nice. Will post pics.

Tomorrow I’m gonna try my hand at painting side trims and mirrors to match body color. Full faux gt status. Car is coming out pimp.

  5. Easier than installing jdm fogs is taillights.

    Usdm mid light says subaru.

    Jdm one says legacy:

Looks good. Dumb to install it though because the window seal makes it damn impossible to reinstall. It sucked. Took probably and hour before I nailed down the technique. Otherwise it wires up as USDM cars part. All connectors pop in.

Ordered new oem shift boot for 00-2004 Subaru Legacy. Prolly should’ve ordered one for an Impreza. Have to modify. I wanted oem Quality versus some cheap crap one:

Need wheels and suspension ASAP but waiting for what I want

  6. Lo0king really good. I have been such a slacker on getting my JDM fogs installed on account of how much work they take. Been trying to source a Limited bumper for some time and don't want to go through the hassle just to then swap the bumpers out. Although with how well they turned out on yours I might move it up the to do list.

Are you going to wire them so both lights are on when you hit the fog light switch?

Yeah it’s a big job. I didn’t mount them yet. I just trimmed out the bumper openings so they would fit. I need to figure out how I am going to mount them. I will likely wire them so they both turn on simultaneously yes.

So far I trimmed the bumper and then trimmed the jdm brackets. I need to see how other people have mounted them. I just have them sitting in there now. I had to cut the factory bumper bar as well to get them to fit. Lots of work indeed

  7. Oem flaps. I just want to say subaru used the dumbest clips that strip themselves in the rubber clips. Metal and plastic don’t mix. I had to cut the heads off of every screw to get the oem flaps off. Need to do a polish on the paint where they were.

Gorilla flaps. Used them on all my cars and they are the best

So dirty inside the fender liners too. Literally a cereal box worth of sand was behind the oem flaps. Dumb. It also rained the whole time I installed these and I got soaked. Had to take the rear wheels off to install. Typical though.

  8. Got my bg5 wheel in mail today:

Had to widen shroud just a little

Amazing what a wheel can do to an interior:

Yes I had to ditch clockspring. So no more cruise control. But I never use that anyway. Also self canceling turn signals is gone but again I usually click those off manually. More engaging driving. This new wheel is substantially smaller. Maybe 1-1.25in less in diameter.

  9. I grab those cover catches every time I am at the wreckers and remember to do so. They brake often if you get a little to ham fisted with the cover.

What grill did you end up ordering?

    Ryan

Yeah I need to get some bits so I’ll grab them in the future. Seem cheap and age hasn’t done them favors. This is the grill I ordered.

  10. I ordered a more fitting jdm grill Incase this idea sucks and it turns out garbage but I’m still going along as if I didn’t.

I have learned a ton about fiberglass while doing this and I would do it Totally different a second time. But good to learn.

Replaced these rear cargo cover catches because they were broken.

    Broken:

Don’t have any pictures of it after but you can imagine.

Waiting on parts forever it seems. International shipping is slow. So is domestic apparently

  11. Not a bad thought. It's been a long time since mine has been shiny like that. Maybe if I had been doing something to care for the finish I wouldn't have failing clear coat on the hood...

I know subaru (not as bad as Honda) has poor clear coats. I’ve seen paint fade on 2013 cars. That’s only five years. And they are PNW cars where we barely get sun. Wouldn’t want to see a car from So Cal. My paint on my wrx was peeling on the wing
