I have for sale a couple of parts I accumulated after doing a 6 spd swap on my outback. Parts are located in Rochester, NY for local pickup
05 Outback XT Driveshaft 150k miles $50
05 Outback XT 5MT full shifter linkage including shifter and u joint $30
05 Outback XT Dual Mass Fly Wheel 70k miles $30
I currently only have a picture of the flywheel because I could not get to the driveshaft and shifter linkage without a ladder. If there is serious interest in the driveshaft or shifter linkage I will get pictures, no problem.

Hands down worthless. Sorry to say. Cobb will not unmarry this since there has been no support for this for over 10 years.
Might as well frame it up to remember the ownership of the car

Why do you say it looks like a R160?
It looks like the larger R180 to me.
And the rear half-shafts look beefier as well.
On a R180 diff cover the studs go into a continuous long rectangular protrusion that spans across the diff. On a R160 diff cover the studs go into 2 separate small rectangular protrusions where each stud goes into its own little protrusion.
-
See post #7. This is an R180 with hybrid axles.
I honestly don't know man. That diff cover is clearly R160. Not trying to reduce the reputation of the seller, I just don't want somebody who doesn't know better thinking they are getting an r180.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression Spec B rear axles were required to make STI transmission swap work on LGT.
This only the case if you are running an R180. Correct me if I'm wrong but that diff looks like an R160 to me. However, what people also do if running an R180 is they take the cv going into the r180 and put it on the r160 shaft hence "hybrid", but what you actually made is a spec b axle.
-
I honestly couldn't tell you if BH and BT are the same length as I genuinely have never been under a baja to tell you if its the same car or not. But considering that their part of the same generation family I think a BH driveshaft will fit a BT.
Interesting that your 5MT rubber mount bolted up. I actually never tried bolting up the 5MT mount because the 6MT mount has a uniform chunk of rubber not 2 separate pieces.
-
And to add, 05-09 legacy/outback 4eat shafts. Outback shafts have a carrier bearing which drops them lower for adjusting driveshaft angles to compensate for the body spacers.

My 05 turbo Baja 5mt ADF 2” lifted with 300whp 15” gold black rhino boxer wheels with BFG KO2s is in the process of getting a 04 Sti 6speed. So i have a few questions for anyone with answers. This may have been covered in the 164 pages of this thread (i am currently reading) so I’m sorry if I’m asking again. So here is where i am now.
In the rear.
Installed...
Baja/STi hybrid rear axles with suberdaves races.
04 r180 rear diff
Not sure if the (tail shaft?) has been changed yet. Gotta look later.
04 Sti 6 speed is in and bolted up
(I think 03)wrx front axles Are in.
So here are my questions.
1. So my stock 5mt driveshaft wont fit. And i knew that but it is pretty close compared to the auto trans driveshaft i got. It is way short. The stock driveshaft is just a little to long and the carrier bearing mounts are about an inch or 2 to far back from the stock holes. The short drive shaft i have i just way to short. Like 5 inches or something. I didn’t get the drive shaft myself so i am currently checking what it came out of. So it needs to be an auto driveshaft sure but out of what? legacy,gt,coupe, outback, wagon, Impreza, Baja. I have no idea.
2. For the trans mount i used the Sti bracket with the Baja rubber bushing thing. It’s in..... but it ain’t right. the bracket holds the trans way to high in the back. So the engine is even tipped forward a little. Also the shifter linkage is hitting the trans tunnel. I saw other people ordering different linkage but the stock Sti stuff might work? If the trans was in the right spot. I’d much rather not get linkage if I don’t really need to. So what am i doing wrong? Should i just make spacers and lower the whole bracket?
3. I keep reading i need a Sti clutch slave. I have one but i have the stock Baja turbo one in and i looks good. I haven’t tried to push the clutch in yet. Why would this matter?
Well that’s what i got for now any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Driveshaft wise, for the 4th gen legacies, people use either 4eat shafts or spec b shafts for the swaps. These have a r160 yoke but are the correct length for the bp/bl chassis.
For the 4th gen legacies the only thing that people use which is different is the physical rubber mount which has different hole spacing on the 6spds than the 5spds. The transmission subframe for the 5mt cars is reused.
The reason why the sti slave is used because the 4th gen legacies 5mt has a different slave which mounts completely differently and is not compatible. If you have a 02-05 5mt slave that will work as well.
Hope this helps.

I run a single catchcan at the moment but am planning on going to dual. Feeding the oil pan vent, 5/8 hose with the plastic splitter and pcv valve in it, to its own catch can. I have a lot more room now that I went fmic. Before I genuinely couldn't find anywhere to mount another catchcan without having it in the front of the engine bay which I did not want to do.
I can post up some pics later today of what I'm running now if it helps
