  1. I thought I saw a post here somewhere, but damn if I can't find it again. Regards to switching the OEM Mont Blanc bars from US LGT integrated side rails to fit Outback raised rails. I've got the OEM bars, but want to mount them to a Forester which has raised side rails. Seems that the adjustable arm of the Mont Blanc OEM rack won't reach under the raise rail.

I have seen very similar feet that are supposed to fit raised rail applications, but not sure if it is just a switch of the adjustable gripper arm that reaches down and clamps to the side rail. If so, I'd just replace that and keep my current racks.

  2. I organized a NASIOC meet once. Was popular to boot! Having it at a bar probably had something to do with it...

But seriously, I do follow that NASIOC thread, sometime when the stars align for timing and location, I may show up.

As far as the NBPT crowd goes, surprised there are as many modified LGTs around as there are. Hope to see more of you around.

  3. That transmission noise were the two output shaft bearings starting to go. Few of the rollers were pitted. Got them replaced at Synaptic3, they are a few minutes down the road from my future in-laws.

Underdog, since I now have a flat driveway and a garage, I'll be tackling some of my stuff on my own now. Will keep you in mind for the next round. Still haven't replaced the y-pipe yet. One of the hangers finally rotted out. Ah, the joys of car ownership in NE.

Other than that, the car is still going strong as it starts its ninth year with me.

  4. Actually, I've seen two other ABP GT wagons in the area, but I'll bet that one was my wagon without me in it and my wife driving. Pretty much guarantees you're not going to be spotted in return unless you have a wreck with her. JDM front bumper and Sox plate. She was running errands in that direction with it since her Accord sat waiting on a dropoff for a brake job farmed out to Motive this morning.

Cool, I do believe it was your wife driving.

  5. Coming up on five years and still running fine.

Do have the beginnings of some transmission noise which will be on the list this summer.

Car has been put on active 50+ mile a day commute duty. Great timing!

Other than ProSport gauge issues (not going to use them again), I think the build worked out really well.

Sad to see DSG go, but their creation will live on!
