  1. I wouldn’t recommend wrx midpipe it’s very annoyingly loud since it doesn’t have a reso on it.

You can use STi midpipe it has a reso on it,or use your stock midpipe and have y pipe from either STi or wrx welded to it.

I used my stock midpipe and just added the y pipe from wrx.

That was the plan! Either find an STI y pipe and extend it or find a WRX mid pipe and weld the end onto my stock y pipe. No way I’m running without a resonator.

  2. Installed the drivers side OEM WRX muffler. Had to trim some plastic with a fresh razor blade but other than that, it bolted up fine. I did have to heat up the hangers on the muffler with a torch and tweak them to get it to fit center, albeit a hair crooked. I'm fine with that though. Has a nice little rumble to it now. I have the passenger side muffler too, so now to keep an eye out for a WRX mid pipe. I have a welder so modifying that will be easy.

  3. So every time I look at the 17 incher alloys on my car I feel the bug more and more to buy some wheels..

I've had my eye on two different sets of varrstoens w/ tires on Craigslist:

    1). Varrstoen MK5 18x9 + 30 & 225/40R18

    2). Varrstoen MK6 18x10 + 25 & 225/40R18

I understand the speedo reading would be out of spec for the overall setup, and I haven't seen anyone go that wide with 9s or even 10s. This being said will running one of these sets rub at stock ride height or simply look absurd. Looking for honest opinions

Not to mention that is a very narrow tire to be running on that wide of a wheel. You'll have a real stretched look going on there. I'm running 245s on my 8.5" wide wheel, and it looks great.

  4. Ordered a set of the Morimoto fog lights from Amazon C$140 with free shipping. Install will be next weekend hopefully.

Tail to turn and C lamps from DD is next on the list. Has anyone installed the C lamps themselves? I opened the headlight housings on my '05 a few times, wasn't difficult at all, just worried about the wiring, are they plug and play?

From what I understand, they are not plug and play. There are 4 wires that you need to run. Pretty sure Andrew_ls did the install himself as he's a DIY kinda guy.

  5. I'm running LED on oem housing only.,

I'd highly recommend getting the Morimoto fogs then (or a similar LED fog with complete housing). $170 through Amazon and their output is awesome. Running HIDs in the fogs would likely be too hot and the output similar to what you have now.

  6. I got in some overlays from emblemoverlays.com today. Where's the pictures you ask? Well, I didn't realize that the front and rear emblems are different sizes. Just never crossed my mind, and at a glance, both overlays looked the same size. I start putting one on the rear only to notice it's too big. No big deal, they sent the wrong size and I'll just trim up the edges with a razor. Go to the front emblem, and realize the overlay is way too small for the front. Ended up ruining everything, and was pretty salty I just pissed away $22. I ordered another set from a different vendor so hopefully that goes smoother.
  7. Loving all this positive feedback for the 19 and 20mm sway bars!

Has anyone had their Subaru dealership install their upgraded sway bar? I'm wondering if they would give me a hard time?

It's definitely a job that I can handle, but being that we have the 5 year / 60k "Gold Plus" extended warranty, I'm being a little hesitant to swap it myself. I would hate to find myself in a situation in a few years where I may need some sort of rear suspension related service and they claim I voided the warranty by changing the rear sway bar. Anyone have experenice or insight with this?

What I would do is so it yourself, and just keep your stock anti sway bar. That way you can swap it back in if you need to for warranty work. I highly doubt that anyone would even notice that it's bigger. I can't speak to the 20mm, but the 19mm looks identical to the stock one, just a hair bigger.

  8. I must be the only one that cant figure out fitment even with offset calculators. I want to go with an 18 x 8 with 43mm off with 225 50 18... If my stock is 17 x 7.5 55mm off with 225 55 17 that would mean my combo will be sticking out nearly 3/4 inch farther.. Eyeballing it that seems that would be out to far. But then I see pics with 38mm off and it looks fine. What am I missing or am just over thinking it...

You're overthinking it. If you look on the front page, there's a chart of what sizes are ran and if there's any issues. According to the chart, we can run an 18x8 with 38mm offset and be fine, so you'll definitely be fine with a +43mm offset wheel. I would recommend a 245/45r18 size tire though. The 225 will be a little stretched, so the 245 will add some protection to the lip of the wheel.

  9. Thanks everyone! I figured it may ride a bit harsher since we are indeed stiffening the link between both rear wheels (from a suspension standpoint). I am assuming though that the improved handling from the reduction of body roll is worth it, regardless of any decrease in ride "quality".

I definitely think so. I'm very happy with my 19mm, but I wish I would've gotten the 20mm. That's my only recommendation.
