Deep Space Plasti Dip on my wagon
Swagon_Rob replied to Swagon_Rob's topic in Legacy Photos (2005-2009)
It’s actually fairly easy. A lot of the work is the prep. Cleaning and masking the car off took some time. I purchased a DipYourCar spray gun I purchased for around $250 like 5 years ago and then I purchased the color this year. The color was around $400 and the dip armor was like $220. So like right around $900 for all of it but you can definitely go cheaper, I picked one of the more expensive colors. As for the process I would just watch a few of the DipYourCar how to videos. I watched a few videos and made notes and then just went for it. This was my first time doing anything like this and I think it came out pretty good. My brother is planning on doing his car now and my neighbor as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Deep Space Plasti Dip on my wagon
Swagon_Rob replied to Swagon_Rob's topic in Legacy Photos (2005-2009)
Yeah you definitely need a lot of coats. It was around 8-10 coats but 2 coats are for dip armor which is kind of extra Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
So I finally committed to plasti dipping my 05 legacy gt. I purchased the DipYourCar starter kit like 5 years but I never committed to dipping any of my cars. Originally I wanted to get my car wrapped but the cost is just so high. This is a happy medium for now. I picked their deep space performance kit along with their new dip armor for protection. I was nervous during the whole process but after I finished I was really happy with the results. And with the dip armor on top it feels like it has a nice clear coat to protect it. I plan on ceramic coating it after a few weeks. Here are some pics

Yeah it’s the Koni insert struts with H&R springs. The ride is exactly what I wanted for a lowered car. It’s not too stiff and bouncy. I don’t drive my car aggressive so I wanted something that was lowered but still feels OEM. And now that I have changed all my bushings to whiteline the car drives so good. Definitely recommend -

It’s the Bayson R lip. For the price I really like it. Fit was great and it came with everything I needed to install it. Nice and subtle lip. https://baysonr.com/products/05-07-subaru-legacy-jdm-style-front-bumper-lip-polyurethane -

Thanks man, I’m so happy with the outcome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
So 1 week after the Covid hit and I was told I would be working from home for the foreseeable future. I decided to finally give my wagon the love she deserved. So I put the car on jack stands and went to work. New rack and pinion, bushings, seals, calipers, koni lowering suspension, and of course the rota gravels. 6 months later (several house projects in the way lol) She is finally done and sitting preeeetty. I’m so happy with the outcome. It ain’t much but it was a lot of work and time for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SPC adjustable rear control arm Legacy gt
Swagon_Rob replied to Swagon_Rob's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
I want to get my specs some what back to stock so I don’t destroy my tires. After I lowered my car my rear specs were at like -2.5 or something and toe was off pretty bad. How do you like the Megan? I’ve been looking around and my concern was how bad they get after a few months of driving on them. I saw they get pretty rusty and seize up. -

Yeah that’s pretty much what thought. I wish I had done some more research before I purchased these SPC arms. It’s been so long since I got them that it’s too late to return. Do you know if the Megan LCAs are my only option? Ideally I want ones that look like this but I just can’t seem to find anything for my 05 leggy. https://www.importimageracing.com/products/blox-racing-rear-lower-control-arms-red-wrx-sti-brz-ft-86-fr-s?gclid=Cj0KCQjwoaz3BRDnARIsAF1RfLe3ilBunsbMUMk-qUAw1XnGR_NUkCtMMYulKC917-aMGLLQZ4SuYXgaAv2XEALw_wcB -
So I purchased this SPC adjustable control arm kit from emnotek not realizing that I may also need an adjustable rear lower control arm. That is probably why whiteline sells the whole K124 kit with lateral front and rear arms because you need both to make any type of adjustment. Is my assumption correct? Do I need both the lateral arm and rear lower control arm to be adjustable? The only option I have seen for my car is the Godspeed or Megan race Control arm, which I just don’t know that I trust them. I’m kind of upset with myself for not just buying the whiteline k124 kit to begin with. This is what I have: https://emnotek.com/products/spc-adjustable-rear-control-arm-legacy-outback-2000-2009 Do I need to pair my kit with something like this to adjust rear camber? Are they any other options? https://meganracing.com/suspension/type-suspension-arms/scion-subaru-arms/mrs-su-0521

STI Pink Springs are expensive?
Swagon_Rob replied to Swagon_Rob's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
This is perfect. Your car looks like it has the exact drop front and rear that I am looking for. I’m going to use the 3/8th as well, I also load my trunk down with my pup and sometimes a trailer. Thanks for the feedback. -

That’s exactly the drop I’m looking for. Do you know if the rear has a “saggy butt spacer” installed? -

That’s all I want, a slight drop and comfort. How drastic is the drop? Did you use the saggy butt spacers in the rear? Can you post a picture of your wagon? I’ve been trying to get an idea of this setup as a back up option if I don’t come across some pinks. https://emnotek.com/products/koni-sport-kit-legacy-2005-2009?variant=15722899046515&sfdr_ptcid=26626_4_366639306&sfdr_hash=a20fd7ceab3fe7a9ac0d665c92eca118&gclid=CjwKCAiA66_xBRBhEiwAhrMuLbQF9HnPSUexFfuLPi0n4SFCgHocf6DP5GKxGXoW3sPGuaTsbh9oIBoCn6IQAvD_BwE -
So I’ve been looking for some STI pink springs for my wagon and I’ve come across a few places selling the set for almost $6-700. Am I missing something? Why are they so expensive? Am I looking in the wrong places? By the time I get the spring and some bilstein HDs I’ll be at a $1400 setup. I really want some damn springs on my car and my only options are swift and tein. Both of which seem to have bad reviews for comfort. Apparently I missed the golden age of springs when Eibach, ION, and pinks where every where!
