  1. Hi all

After my misadventure with a 4th gen Diesel, I've owned a few non-Subaru cars, but the Subaru-bug wouldn't let me go. The Outback H6 I still own performs well and always brings me and my family safely and quickly to our destination, but I was missing a 'fun-car'. So, the hunt for something else quickly brought me back to my beloved brand and as of yesterday, my Outback stands alongside a Gen 4 pre-facelift Legacy 2.0R. It has the 165BHP N/A engine with DOHC and was only available for EUDM, JDM and AUDM markets if I'm not mistaken.

The shell and interior are a bit rough, but nothing to serious. The car just needs some body-work and a few interior panels replaced to be top-notch once more.

The car is started life as a demo for a large Subaru-dealer and had decent spec compared to other 2.0R and 2.5i that I've seen. Leather, sat-nav and a sun roof were 'normal' and H6's, but are a rare sight on these, so I'm happy.

  2. Hi all

I have bought a 2005 2.0R Legacy Wagon which has done approx 140k miles. The suspension is stock and can do with an overhaul, but am not sure what to go for.

    Important:

    - I can not use saggy but spacers (illegal in Belgium)

    - I don't want to use non-OEM lowering springs (no illegal, just a lot of hassle)

So, these were the options I'm considering:

    - Bilstein B6 with OEM springs on all 4 corners

    - Bilstein B8 up front and B6 in the rear with OEM springs on all 4 corners

    - Bilstein B6 up front with Spec B springs and B6 in the rear with OEM (non spec B ) springs

    - Bilstein B8 up front with Spec B springs and B6 in the rear with OEM (non spec B ) springs

Other options with OEM springs (or KYB springs) and Bilstein or KYB shocks are possible.

For reference, a 2.0R wagon has the same weight as a 2.5i wagon you guys have in the US and is 286lbs (130 kgs) LIGHTER than a 3.0 Legacy (I'm sure most of that weight comes from the front-end).

    Thanks

    Thomas

  3. Hi all

I currently have an EUDM Outback 3.0R with SL suspension. The car has done 140 000 miles and would benefit from a suspension overhaul. I would start up front, but want it to be an upgrade.

I know I can just order an Outback specifiek Bilstein set from Japan, but chances are it would not meet Belgian laws due to the springs. I was therefore wondering if I could use B6 shocks from Bilstein suited for a Legacy?

Not as: yes, they will fit, but more: will it work, will I retain the ride-height etc.

    Thanks

    T.

  4. Tyler, love this build !

Good for going from ivory/tan to black, suits the car well and the new leather seats seem to be in good condition.

I still have to make the leap and go from an all tan interior in my Outback to full black.

BTW: ever considered other wheels? Rota gravels would look sick on your car.
