  1. Hi, For a couple of months, my 2016 Legacy was making a clicking noise when maneuvering from a main road to a parking lot. Had the wheels aligned today and asked the dealer to check the clicking noise, which was getting more frequent. Was told that I had to replace the left front assembly replaced. Is that expected for a 7-year car with 71k miles? I had other Subarus (3 Foresters before, 1 still with me) and 2 made past 120k miles without major repairs - always followed the recommended maintenance plan. Thoughts? I feel like jumping off Subaru when I get my next car. I also had to replace the spring in the steering rack assembly at 65k miles.
  2. Hello, I had my Rexing dashcam installed by BestBuy and they used the manufacturer's hardwire kit. The technician connected the 2 probes from the hardwire kit to: Red wire into slot 5: Ignition (Unit IG2-2) Yellow wire into slot 22: Seat Heater Right My question is: what is "Unit IG2-2"? Thanks!!
  3. The kit has a "control box" that receives 12V from the fuse box. I attached the schematic.SHWK_Manual.pdf
  4. I got the 15A reference from a Youtube video - The manual of the hardwiring kit doesn't really say to what fuse capacity it should be connected to - only shows that it feeds 5V, 1.5A to the camera: Hardwire Kit manual/URL]
  5. Last week I bought a Rexing V1P 3rd gen dashcam and their "smart" hardware installation kit, since I'd like to have the front and rear dashcams powered on all time. Some Youtube videos say that you need to use a 15A fuse socket to install the kit, then went along removing some panels, etc. I do some maintenance work on my car myself, but the process hit a snag when I opened the fuse box and could not find an open 15A slot to use (the available ones in the attached schema are < 15A). Another YT video says that I would have to "sacrifice" a functionality of the car by using that 15A fuse socket to connect the installation kit, which I don't want to do. Now I have a couple of options: - Take the car to Geek Squad (BestBuy) and have them install the dashcam ($59) - Take the car to my Subaru dealer (more expensive I guess) - Forget about having the cameras on all the time Thoughts? Did anybody use a similar direct connection kit for your dashcam? Thanks!
  6. After so many miles without being serviced, my Legacy has now 60,400 miles and I will be taking it to the dealer for the scheduled service. Is it expected to have the dealer to also perform the TSBs for my car? I saw some in this link and I am thinking about printing the list and taking with me. Of course, there is no way for me to know whether all TSBs were performed in my car :/ Thoughts? Thanks!
  7. Way before the virus crisis I've been keeping a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my car, to use it after fueling the tank. I've been getting some luck going to the Walmarts in my region really early (they open at 7) and last week I as able to get a bottle of Equate hand sanitizer (1 per customer). Employees there told me shipments are getting back to normal. It may be worth going there when it opens.
  8. Hello, My 2016 Legacy has been having an issue (which I need to search for advice in a different post) of being unable to release the key from the ignition when the car is turned off. That issue required me to turn the car on and off a couple of times to then get the key out. But on Friday afternoon (car was parked in my garage since Thursday night), I turned the key and... nothing. Not even a clicking sound. Nada. Since the car is with me for 3 1/2 years, I went to Costco and got a new battery. The car turned on at the first crank, and (so far) all electrical components are fine, except for the one-touch power window for both driver and front passenger: - Driver power window works normally, one-touch is not working - Front passenger window switch (on driver side) is not working - Front passenger window switch (on passenger side) is working, but no one-touch Could this be that I blew a power window motor, a switch or just a fuse? Thanks for the help!
