  1. Im at 85%+ on wastegate pressure! haha It was creeping a little up to 14psi yesterday morning and I forgot to log to file. Doh That was the most it's seen so far and I wanted a log. Will try again.

Stock injectors, stock pump, stock TMIC for now..

Im hoping to squeeze 15 or 16psi out the top without it getting too dangerous.

If you have injectors, install them. There isnt much head room on the stockers.

  2. 2008 Evo X GSR (5MT)

    Road Race Engineering (RRE) tune

    WORKS drop in filter

    RRE Stealth exhaust

    RRE "No name" clutch

    Tanabe DF210 springs

Nice man! I had a 5spd swapped VIII MR w/ 400whp. (EvoM Thread) Owned the car for 8 years and will always have a soft spot. Currently helping a buddy tune his X MR.

We have a set in the Evo and another set in the OB. Kids are getting tall for them! I think they are for children 5-40 lbs who are less than 40 inches tall... They'll hit 40" way before they get to 40lbs, and then we'll need four more seats... ugh.

The nice thing is that when they finally get big enough to turn around, there become tons of room. I was able to get my son in the back of a EG civic hatch once he was big enough to turn the seat around. 2 would be pushing it tho

  3. I signed this today. Not sure whether 100k signatures on a petition will really do anything. I'm just not savvy on how this works. But apparently the proposal is only applicable to medium and heavy duty engines. But we all know it's just a precursor to banning it for small vehicles. Someone obviously has it out for the gear heads. The % of cars on the road that this would ever apply to is so small that it wont make any real difference in emissions. It's pretty stupid. But 'tis the gubment.
  4. I couldve swore the routine I was doing came directly from this thread, but when I checked earlier it was different. The routine I posted seems very similar to the one OB2.5XT posted.

I have some co-workers that have the insanity videos. I may check them out too.

Gipsy, I'm that scrawny guy as well. I'm 6'6" and have ALWAYS been able to eat whatever and do whatever and still maintain 180lbs since high school 17 years ago. Im now at 210lbs and it's ALL in my gut....uggh.

  5. I've gained 30 lbs since my son was born 3 years ago (I often joke that my wife lost her baby fat, and I kept mine! ha). Haven't really been keen on exercising at all in the last 10-15 years. But thankfully my wife and I already eat very well, with very little processed foods. The lack of exercise (and hops intake :)) has taken to my mid section and I'm becoming that tall lanky guy with a beer gut. Not good. I'm also out of shape and typically low on energy. Quit being a full time smoker when my son was born. And it's been 6 months since I stopped "closet" smoking.

I'm trying to regain energy, loose the 30 lbs in my gut, pick up some stamina and gain some strength.

Much like BMB, I don't want, and don't have space for machines. I don't have a ton of extra time.

I'm on week 2 of the following routine. I'm able to do most of it, but still need to build a pull up bar in the basement. It's surprising how much something so simple can kick your butt so easily.

I'm still sore daily. But it feels good. I'm looking forward to not huffing and puffing running for cones at the 1st autocross of the season, running from cars with leg cramps and also looking forward to shedding a few lbs and gaining some coordination/awareness to go faster.

  6. This post should cover it well: FPR Vacuum Line Relocation

Interesting on foam, that 100% explains why there if a foam filter inline with factory map sensor! I thought that was for soaking up PCV oil that might blow through. I got a spare filter that I'll put inline and see if it helps!

Now this makes me wonder if putting that filter inline with FPR would be beneficial too!

Thank you. I saw that post after I asked the question. And thanks again for organizing your thread so well.

I'm interested to see what you find. If it is foam, that is most likely why it's there. I thought it was a one way valve so the sensor only measured vacuum.

  7. Since I relocated the FPR feed to the BOV, I had a spare port on Cylinder 4. Plus the nipple covers love to crack and leak boost, even Cobb mentions this about their kit.

What prompted you to move the FPR to the BOV line?

FWIW, my last car's boost gauge started this in vacuum after I put cams in. I never "fixed" it. But I remember reading about people putting a small piece of foam or something into the line to dampen the noise.

I'm getting ready to install my gauges and have been questioning where to tap the boost gauge, not totally keen on the BOV, MAP sensor, or a shaky needle. I suppose if there is no way around a shaky needle where you tapped it, then the MAP sensor it is...with a brass fitting.

edit: nvm about the FPR line. Poking around the links in post #1 answered my question. Thank you. Now to add more stuff to my list...

  8. what do you guys think is fair asking price for all the components, minus struts/springs to do this swap? Going to look at a LGT part out today. Im assuming all of it needs to be blasted and painted and new bushings installed.

Basically going to him with this list and picture. Ive got a 5EAT, so Im assuming nothing needs to be done to the shifter. And I don't "need" the heat shield.
