Well... you could print it in half, and then snap and glue it together. I'm sure some bondo, or heavy autofill primer and paint would make it look as good as an OE unit.
I meant could I just turn it on its side and print it using the z axis for height?
Anyone have the stl that I can take a look at?
-
No, the problem was that it's 13" wide and the printers are not wide enough to make it happen.
The 7" jdm gps bezel works fine though. Just cut a slit in the vent and slide the cable through it. You could probably buy this >> https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10031 and make your own so you don't have to cut into the vents.
edit: Do you specifically mean a bracket to mount the tablet? I thought you meant the bezle.
Either way, if you mean brackets, just grab some metal L brackets at home depot and use some Gorilla Mounting tape.
My printer does 10.5" round x 15 or so tall...

What I'm doing with the switch panel is just recreating the switch into it but making it considerably smaller so that there is room for the switches around it.
Ah, you're transferring the circuits on the bottom huh?

So, I was looking at the si switch a little more closely and don't see a great way to mount a cage on top of it. It looks like you would have to recreate the entire structure and take the switch apart in order to retain the mounting points that it uses. I could easily create a cage that sits on top but it would require some other mounting. Double sided tape in a recessed portion of the cage? Any ideas?

Just the basics would probably be best. stl file should be fine.

Well, designspark uses rsdoc. I think I can do obj and sketch up as well as stl too.

Im using designspark currently.

Yeah, I discovered this forum right before I went out of the country for work. I just got back and had a chance to go through the posts. It would be great if you could send me the dimensions. Do you have details for the mounting bits as well?
little late of a quote haha I have the dimensions of the SI drive panel if you want a model. I made a switch panel to sit in the spot instead. -
I have a 09' OBXT. I can look into designing something for this. let me take a look and grab some measurements off of mine.
2009 Legacy GTThis is a bit of a strange request for a part. I want a custom trim piece that will provide a type of cage that fits over the top of the SI-Drive knob on the center console. I want to prevent it from being depressed by some casual or unintended action (ex: my dog stepping on it), because I f'in hate "intelligent mode" and wish that this most inferior "mode" never existed. It has no place in a Racecar.
I'm my mind it would be sort of an x over the knob that wraps down over the sides and is attached to a half-moon shaped trim piece that would sit down in the little depression that the knob is centered in. It will cover the illumination but IDGAF about that, and it willstill allow full operation of the button.

The ones on my legacy are 27x8.5R14's

You'll love them off-road. I went over rocks, through mud and even a little snow with them and they worked great.

Im sad that I never see any of you guys. I saw a black legacy gt about 6 months ago in saratoga but thats about it.

I took some pictures while I was in SoCal to document the height now so that I can update this in the future when I do the subtle solutions lift.

Nice! I'll be visiting SoCal and will probably do the second round of flushing the trans while I'm there. ( I drained and filled last time I visited a couple months back). My little brother reported understandably poor gas mileage but it has apparently improved since the flush. The subtle solutions kit was the one I was planning to get actually. I'm a big fan of the general grabber tires on there but I think the car needs new sway bar bushings and an alignment. I'd like to weld up a bumper for it at some point and do lights but I don't make it down there often enough. I'm basically giving the car away to my brother when he can scrape together $1k but we have the understanding that I will still work on/ play with it when I visit. I'll try and take some clearance pictures while I'm in SoCal .

Yup, pulled struts and hood off of a junker 1999 outback IIRC. I was actually pretty surprised how well it did off-road before I did any of this. Ive let my little brother drive it for the last year or so but I still have the itch to work on it every time I visit him in SoCal. I'll probably add a 1" lift to it one of these days.

Similar direction but not quite as advanced:

Not sure if my 1995 Legacy counts entirely but I figured it would be in good company here:

Could be multiple issues really:
1. Looks like your first layer height is too high
2. Temperature can cause extrusion issues
3. Can bump up extrusion in your software settings.
Sites like https://all3dp.com/2/under-extrusion-3d-printing-all-you-need-to-know/ tend to have good info on this.
I cant speak to why your test print had different results unless it has specific g-code tied to it. Also, I would check if your test print was repeatable. (ie if something was jostled out of whack etc in between prints)
What software/slicer are you using?
