Might be the wrong place to ask, but my searching has got nowhere. I was told today my LGT has a VF38 turbo. The guys on the 4th Gen forum were very surprised at this. Can anyone clear this up? It's a Auto NZ LGT.

Yeah it's a surprise to me too. I haven't found a full spec listing anywhere. I'll post a question on the 5th Gen forum.

I just had my 2012 GT tuned at Torque Performance in Auckland (completely stock with just a tune - Whoa!! Great results! But that's another story for another time). The bloke that did the tune has a gen 5 LGT with the same VF38 turbo as ours. He was very positive about it. Next time I talk to him I'll ask if he's heard about the issues your mechanic reports.
