I went to Super Rupair in Boulder today to have them double check my trouble code. The code was P0507, Idle air control valve malfunctioning(which I knew before they looked).
The man behind the counter said there would be a $50 charge to "make sure that nothing else was wrong." Is this a normal thing mechanics do? Charge the customer an extra $50 to run a deeper diagnostic?
I know very little about car maintenance and repair shops so I apologize for being a noobie. I'm not bashing Super Rupair either, I've just never heard of this.
