Got the cat yesterday. Interesting thing is they sent me the Magnaflow one instead of the house brand. Not complaining since I was about to spend $200 more for the same thing.
Looking forward to getting it installed next weekend.

Yeah, I bet. What a coincidence.
I was thinking the same thing.
To their credit, it was shipped out last night from Ontario, and is now on the truck for delivery here in little ol’ Pittsburg, KS.

Update, they actually answered the phone yesterday and the guy was surprised the order was 2 months old. Said he would check on it and call me back. He never called back.
I'm canceling the order on Monday. This is unacceptable.
Update:
I called Monday and canceled the order. They said they were probably waiting on the flange to arrive and the cat hadn't been welded up yet. At this point I didn't care and was going to order one from Magnaflow since they were back in stock.
While waiting for the funds to be put back on my CC I get a phone call today and was told the cat just arrived from the factory and was ready to go. They had not canceled the order yet and wanted to know what I wanted to do. I went ahead and had them ship it since it was done and ready to go. Received a tracking number already, so hoping it goes smooth here on out. As of now I'm planning on installing it next weekend.

Ok, on yours it sounds great, I have a feeling those headers have something to do with it.
I was comparing it to the Nameless without mufflers. There is nothing quite about those.

I have Nameless with 5” mufflers. I feel it’s a nice middle ground with sound. One member has something like Magnaflow that’s sounds pretty good as well.
The 3.6 might sound a bit different though.

Nothing done to the car, but checked up on the catalytic converter I have been waiting on for 2 months.

I'd like to get another ~2 years out of it. It's only at 92k right now, but it's getting pretty old for a salt belt car. Also need to do a lot of other things to it. Struts, timing belt, and the passenger side of the engine started ticking lightly about a year ago. Hopefully it just needs the lash adjusted and it didn't drop a valve guide.
I just hate paying someone else for something I can technically do myself. I'm just not in a position to be able to do it right now. Hopefully it shifts and feels a little better at least. I've driven manuals all my life and this is the first one that I actually loathe having to drive.
There are a handful of things you can do to make the shifting crisper. Mine has been modified for years, but I do remember initially it was not the best.

A buddy of mine has one just like it. They are nice.
Also, FYI, Cobb is having a 10% off sale.....

I have low mileage OEM one that is basically rust free. It came from FL Legacy and I think it has 75k mile on it.
If this falls through I'll get with you.

Just heard back from Hottexhaust.com. The cat was supposed to arrive on March 30. Now ETA is April 25th. That will make 2 months waiting. Only other two options I have found is Invidia, and OEM.
-
Turbo to downpipe studs and nuts arrived today from Import Image Racing. Hopfully I will not need them.

A few of the parts I ordered from Heuberger came in a couple days ago. Still waiting on the cat from hotexhaust.com. It should be shipping after the first of the month.

I have not, but I do believe they are louder than my Nameless axleback.

They'll work, the thread pitch being the same is the main thing. I went a step further and looked for studs based on the Turbo's part number from IHI (RFH5H) and found this set on amazon for ~15$. they worked with my OEM turbo
You are awesome.

I wonder if the sun load senser (for auto lights) is fried. Or maybe he has a dash mat that is covering up the sun load sensor.
After reading through the thread, that is exactly what I was thinking. Mine was bad on the GT when I bought it.
angelc1990, if you have dual zone climate control, does the auto work correctly? A bad sun sensor will affect that as well.

Does anyone know if the WRX turbo stud will work instead of the GT stud? The GT ones are twice the cost ($15 vs $7). They have the same description (Turbocharger Stud. Stud-10X44X12)
GT: 800910580
WRX: 800910630

Oh I wish I had known. I have a spare cat off a 75k mile GT. I bought it just incase I ever needs one.
No problem. There was no way I was going to pay about $3k for a new one. As far as I could find online, only 2 factory style ones were available, Magnaflow and the house brand. The guy at Hot Exhaust said they come from the same factory.
I don't work on exhaust much. Does anyone know if I need a donut gasket along with the flat gasket that heads out back? I'm getting a new OEM turbo to cat gasket for sure. Probably getting new studs just in case as well.

Update on the pending sell. I couldn't in good conscious sell it knowing the cat was going to need to be replaced. I just placed an order for a new cat and will install before selling. Should be here in a month since the guy at Hot Exhaust said they only ordered two from the manufacturer (low volume).

Wanted to give you guys a heads up that I'm going to be selling the GT. I would rather sell it as-is with all the mods to someone who would appreciate it, but if there is no interest I'll be stripping most off and trading it in. Then the take-offs will be posted in the for sell section. I'll be posting the car in the for sale section sometime this week.
If there is any interest before then please contact me. I'll be completely transparent with you guys. This group is and has always been awesome.

Got my car back today and it still had the factory tune for the drive home. The code never popped up. I'm wondering if the Stage 1 Cobb tune makes the system more sensitive to to cat?
-
Love the enabling, but I'm not planning on keeping the car too much longer. I can't justify dumping that much into it just to sell it. On top of the cat, it will soon need the 120k service and a set of tires.

Prepped the GT for the cat surgery. I’ll be out of town for work for the next few days. So I jacked it up, pulled the O2’s and sprayed down all the bolts with PB Blaster. Will do that again a couple times this week when I get back and do the install this weekend.
