  1. I get the lgt back today from gettin the spec 2+ clutch, fly, and new tranny housing. It has been gone for 6 weeks I am tired of driving my dads Tundra. Tonight i am going to rip appart the factory braking system and install at least the Front Brembo set. Probably wait on the rears for tomorrow!
  2. My girl and i are no longer , but it lets me mod the leggy a little more!!! instead of buy her a xmas gift. I still plan on going up for the holiday season though.

  5. O my roomate's parents live up there and that is where i will be staying. My roomate has a new 08 LGT auto. It will be neet to see some rides!
  6. I am From Houston, Tx. My girl and i will be driving up to ski and visit family. i will be there from 26th to the morning of the 1st. I have JL Cleansweap and Source Selector w/ JL 300/4 and 500/1 black slash series amps pushing 1 JL 12w6v2, focal components front and coax rear. I am really happy with the setup. If i get enough time before the drive i plan on puttin the amps in the floor and a nice custom box, but we will see i have a lot to do before that point.
  7. Cool, it would be great to meet some people from the forum. I have an 05 Gt Limited with BBS RE's and Brembo's all the way around with a killer stereo. I am waiting to get mine back from the shop b/c a spec 2+ w/ fly is getting put in. My engine is stock, but not for long haha.

  11. I just bought Brembo F/R from The King of Parts and cannot wait to put them on. I did get the cross drilled rotors and mutol fluid. Will let you know about my opinion of them. So far the price and service have been great!
  12. I should be gettin my GT back late this week or early next with a fixed 5mt, spec 2+ clutch and fly. Oh i also had them put in the shifter bushings. With the money i did not spend on the conversion I will be moding the car more.
  13. How much effort is envolved with changing rotors? Do you have to remove the caliper it the pads are out? I would assume that you would have to, but never hurts to ask. I know people run track pads and street pads, is this common with rotors as well?

  16. Please elaborate on the differences between the stoptech and brembo. I like the brembos a lot, but when you are spending that kinda money you want to do it right. Please explain how each difference is important
  17. I think that the brembo calipers are up there with best of them, but this kit saves money on pads and definately the rotors. I am not saying the the rotors that come with this kit are bad by any means, but the other kits rotors are a lot nicer. They are nicer because they weigh 6 pounds less and will have better heat disipation. Remember the rotor weight counts for unsprung weight as well as rotational inertia.
  18. I want the STI Brembo, but am going to put two piece rotors on atleast the front. I know that it will cost almost as much as the stopteck stuff, but its BREMBO and gold looks great on a black car.
  19. I would not think that it would cost as much as a 6mt conversion.
  20. I am not going with the 6mt at this time, instead i am putting a new case on my 5mt w/ new clutch, flywheel, and the like. The only way i can afford to do the swap is to do it myself and right now i do not have an extra car. I have thought about buying a beater to drive when i am working on the LGT, but only time will tell what I will actually end up doing.
  21. I am pretty sure that i am going to give my performance shop the go ahead tomorrow. The tranny i am getting has all three LSD and no DCCD. Form what I have gathered the DCCD is neet, but i see it as a system that I would not utalize that often. I am having all the Brembo's put on as well, so I am well on my way to the S402!!! I have not gotten all of the details on the equipment yet, but that is what I am waiting for.
  22. Well, i am going to call the performance shop that will be doing the work and asking them many new questions. Since the only 6mt with a limited slip mid is the spec b and I am pretty sure that this did not come from a spec b then I think that the tranny has been gone through (rebuilt maybe?). If it came from a spec b then i would doubt that the kit would come with sti brembo rears. I did find just the kit online at vividracing for a wrx for 7 with all the same parts, I might have them just get it from there. I am located in Houston, tx and one of the guys at this shop used to work at the shop where all of this equipment is coming from. I really need to ask him the questions tomorrow? I know that i could do it myself, but my car is in pieces at their yard already b/c at first i thought that the clutch just had to be replaced and I was going to work offshore for two weeks and they could get it back to me. I did look into the economics of buying a spec b or sti and it just did not work. b/c i would have to pay at least 2 to get my car barly driveable to sell it. Plus i have done a lot of audio work to the car and the rest of the car is in great shape. I wish i had the time to do it myself or drive another car, but it is my only transportation. I am not married. You still satisfied with the mod? I know if i do this mod that it will only be the begining of a monster!!! 400 whp here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. So are you saying a limited middle dif would be better? I think that the DCCD would be. I have a lot of questions to ask the installer. Why did you put the clutch back in without changing it? I would think that it would need replacement. I am pretty sure that it did not come from a Spec B b/c it has a R180 rear and all the rear sti stuff like brembos. I know that my car would be the third car that it would go into b/c it is coming from a wide body wrx from arizona. One of my thoughts is to replace the clutch, fly, through, and seals just cuz, but that is getting expensive, but I really want it. Is there a way to check the sincros in the 6mt before it is installed, besides just running it through the gears. I really want the 6mt, but it will cost ~10500 with new clutch and stuff, that is a lot of money to put into an 05. It will cost like ~4500 to just get my car back with a new tranny case. Or I could do the build myself, but i do not have a lift or the time to perform the swap. Please let me know what you think!!!
  24. Well, I was driving in Houston at 35 mph and the clutch uningaged and the pedel went to the floor and the clutch made terrible clanking/grinding noices. So I pulled over to a parking lot and then white smoke came out of the hood scoop. Long story short the throughout bearing crapped itself and ended up cutting into the bellhousting and making it so i have to change the housing and that is $$$$$. Anyways i think that i am going to get the 6mt conversion. It includes sti tranny, custom shaft, r-180 rear, sti halfsafts, sti rear hubs, and rear brembos installed for ~9!!! My main question is that the 6mt does not have DCCD and does not need one. What are the advantages of it? What does this tell me about the tranny, what year model did it come from? I am nervus about the clutch so I am going to put an exedy twin disc, am also debating on weather to have them go ahead and rebuild the tranny. Am I being paraniod? Would the tranny be stronger if it just had a limited fr, mid, rear, could there be any advantages??
