RIP 2005 Legacy GT
birdmayne replied to tysparks81's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Man... I'm deeply sorry. Like Gabo said, my cars are an extension of me, never quite done, and always slightly different. I hope you don't lose the passion for cars and can find another platform or chassis to build. -

Chuckanut Dr is less than 20 minutes from me. Let me know next time you're up this way! -

I love how you East coasters just hop about states like its no big deal. It amazes me how much closer everything seems to be over there. Hoping you get by with a new turbo and not YNANSB

One of my life goals is to get as comfortable tuning and tweaking as you, and a few others on here, are. I have a lot of real mechanic experience but would never attempt this kind of stuff without help. Hats off to you man... Good shit, and thanks for the free lessons -

Those wheels and stance truly show off the callipygian assets of your wagon. Love that tight JDM rear -

Hey thanks, Shutter. I was thinking the same thing but have no real experience with this stuff, just internet research. All of my pulls are flat freeway on ramps. I will try to get a long hill pull this weekend and see if the results vary at all.

Can I get a second opinion on this? 187,000 miles, all stock. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_NaUIOWVpWYp4zv6VdApxYP3Zc0Akf7q3fXO7GTsF_o/edit?usp=sharing https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KM1PbWG3V7uVPFgRIC5EVXMmyDv_SKCsTaL0d9nyrhg/edit?usp=sharing

I just threw a set of FK450 A/S on my car. They did just fine in the snow and ice this week and seem to grip dry fairly well. Moderately quiet too. 225/40/18 -
DAMN... Some of you guys are making me rethink my love for the sedans...

What turbo? wiki... with a twist
birdmayne replied to fahr_side's topic in Turbo Powertrains (2.0GT, 2.5GT, 2.5XT)
I will be doing fuel, and I have ebcs. TMIC depends on which turbo I end up with. I think... My suspension and brakes have enough done to them to feel confident with 300, but theres always room for more improvement down the line -

I am going with an new OEM shortblock, basic reworking of heads (stock components, possibly a mild port and polish and 3 angle valves), injectors (740s?), upgraded fuel pump and stock intake. That is about as far as I can make any actual decisions at this point. I want to build for a nicely matched combo that I can DD and hit a handful of HPDEs per year. My goal would be 300whp, but reliability and good fitment are paramount to numbers. I am looking for opinions from those who have far more experience in turbos than I do. VF-52 (16G) or BNR18? I am also highly interested in going with a twin scroll set up (Flinky, I'm looking at you, man). I love early boost, but want some strong peak boost as well. Turbo lag irritates me. I've read the build threads, I've done hours of research. I just can't make a decision on this crap. -

So true. I'm pretty sure I'd get yelled at and punished if I went and died today... -

Made some progress on my dad's new flooring. There used to be a pony wall between the dining area / living room. We ripped that out and pushed one wall of the closet in the hallway back 6" to be flush with the other wall. Alos widened the entry in to the kitchen. Wall used to be flush with the edge of the carpet. And I put few hours in to a table project I have going... pics when finished, no spoilers

The Offical LOW Legacy thread Volume-2

Too late... That happened one '65 Chevelle, '68 GTO, '74 260Z, '06 LGT, and various other car projects ago... I'm staring at my parts list for my LGT build. It's going to cost me over 8K and I pay nothing in labor. -

Better idea... Trade me cars and you'll never have to worry about it again. Boom, everybody wins
