  1. Well, would you buy one? Motor lasts ~50-60k, bunch of other issues and awful handling, as usual. I doubt that chasis is stiff enough for "new" independent suspension. And it is 37k, i doubt the isurance is cheap too. For that pricetag, i'd pick sti any day or evo if this is one's preference. V8 runs these numbers, not ecopoop 4.4 stock. Ecoboost must be seriusly tuned for it, mind you it is unreliable in the stock form. One of the biggest engine recolls a year ago... Btw i had evo x for 2 years and know this car inside out. As well as 3x wrx es i had over the years Modern inexpensive enthusiast car youd be: lighter then 3500lbs, better then 0.98 on the skidpad (no too fancy tires), faster then 4.7 0-60 stock, have 200k designed motor, transmission etc.
  2. No offence but i'm with frederik here evo 9 or previous is very nice and more robust car then evox. Better in quality by much. Ford st is very hyped, not very good vehicle with very limited capabilities. Please do not compare it with it's eu brother, they are very different, us model is missing entire suspension and a lot more. Today's market is pretty empty for really good enthusiast cars. 2015 sti and evox x are virtually the last remaining under 40k. And unil you hit 80-100, it is empty again. This is why i went the same mod route as many people here. Subarus (impreza, forester, outback, legacy) all exceptionaly capable cars, virtually any of them could be adopted to any performance level you prefer. Parts readly available for most mods. Insurance for everything except sti is funny comparing to evo, gtr, bmw, audi (s) etc. that alone makes a difference in your budget. And opens the way to get what you want (everyone is different) then simply accept what is given from the factory
  3. Where did you get the hood? What is it made of? Looks excellent, not sure about color though.
  4. Does anyone have educated guess on reliability of supercharger and turbo setup with 3.6? It was posted many times that 3.6 cannot hold the pressure because of the rods shape... Is it wrong or it just means that you cannot blow 20psi ? Obviously supercharger at 4-5psi will tax engine much less then turbo, but still is it reliable? I'm talking about 100k reliability, not 30k one
  5. Very impressive! Could you describe Bilstein Struts setup please?
  6. it is common misconception there are very few places where it is cold all around a year. Even in far north in Russia. In summer time you can easily see 35C there. Do not ask me how i know Assuming that rest of the world isn't that far north, i believe that ~8 psi intercooler can be considered. Does Raptor use standard coolant and radiator for it's own cooling? Is is external or internal pump for coolant circulation?
  7. So what is the measured point in psi (raptor-specific), when intercooler starts to make sense
  8. Wow, this is interesting and efficient indeed. Am i understanding correctly that charged air is ~85-95f ?
  9. http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&title=Frozen-Facts&A=108702
  10. I guess it is not intercooled? May be i missed it. If not, i'd prefer more robust water intercooling instead of misting... Alcohol or anything else for that matter, those systems are never stable.
  11. Any changes in lubrication system? Different injectors it seems?
  12. Any concerns on reliability? 6psi seems reasonable... 290 is 65hp more then tuned NA versions, which is 22-23% over stock.
  13. Tunes for valve control require you to have 5-10 consecutive logs in the same weather, road, engine temp, gear, same start rpm and stop rpm, preferably 3rd gear... Now single log is easy do do think about 5-10 consecutive runs on the same exact peace of the road... You start at 25 mph and go to ~105 or so... On the track or some place in Montana it is easy not in "beautiful" OH
  14. I can assure that difference even before the power part of the tune is dramatic nothing like stock
  15. No i have not dyno the car yet, and i have not finished the engine tune either, because final logs has to be done at fairly high speed, i'm looking for opportunity at the private road. At soon at tune is ready i'll post the graphs.
  16. Yes, tune usually extends life of the transmission. It is locked up more then stock, so less friction, less wear. Stock is tuned for comfort, performance tune shifts and locks up faster, therefore in theory less wear. For accurate answer ping some of the transmission rebuilder guys like
  17. Once 5EAT is tuned... It feels nothing like what it does from the factory... I'm happy with is after tune, look to my 3.6 tune thread. And, mind you, this is the first AT car in my life... I was always manual transmission person for over 20years... Get it nicely tuned, and believe you will be much happier it is actually pretty good mechanical unit with shitty soft.
  18. Install looks very promising!!! Any numbers yet?
  19. This is strange, i contacted McDowell tuning, zero response, not even hello... Same with ECS... Do they check their e-mails at all? Is there any tuner who is actually tuning 3.6es and ready to take the job? In my wrx time I was working with Eric Minehart, that is absolute pleasure! Unfortunately he is not tuning n/a motors
  20. Hello guys, could anyone tell who to e-mail or call for e-tune on 2014 3.6 obx? Definitions are out, my romrider works perfect for logging. So, who could tune me (e-tune, openport)? I have modded intake, and can log any parameters needed to tune.
  21. Hello Italian Legacy, any luck with rom i sent? Anything i need to do?
  22. Would hks filter+ funnel work? Technically they look very close to your cai... I have rom downloaded already, it'll be in your e-mail tomorrow evening Having definitions, i could log anything they want, an then corrections can be made.
