  1. burt, how did you make that many miles and replace 3 tubos without losing the engine? i had the noisy p/s, replaced the infamous o-ring and good to go. my car has 118k and ive been concerned about upgrading the turbo to too large of a size and pushing the "high mileage" motor too hard. might be overly worried for no reason.
  2. anybody got any more cool lifted pics? still working on my up or down decision and need some inspiration on the high side.
  3. just read through it all and im suprised boxkita is the only one to mention it and only on the last page. why not just get custom arms made? a tubular reat trailing arm with correct bracket placement for our suspension and correct diameter for sti bearing to just bolt in and voila!! i know easier read than done, but it really isnt that difficult of a proposition. if there was a large enough market i might be able to work something out at one of my old part time jobs to see if they would work on fabbing and jigging it to make a production piece. but if its only going to be 20 people here then itll never take off. what would the list be of parts needed to have as a foundation? sti hub/bearing sti axle sti r180 as i would assume that sti bearings are the only upgraded version that would solve weakness problems. it eliminates those wanting to keep stock axles unless tribeca bearings are the same size as sti but accept our stock axles???
  4. 2005 obxt ltd. bought it a few months ago, mods and parts pile moving right along. i love this car! and i havnt even gotten to go adventuring or tripping with it yet. first subie kind of owned a bugeye wrx wagon for a few days but this is way better.
  5. thats where the question came from. essentially wondering how different the tune would be with and without intercooler upgrade. im all about just saving my money and trying to do things once so i might just have to suffer and wait it out until i can get a new intercooler to go along with the turbo. thanks for the info.
  6. black leather out of 05obxt in good shape id like to trade for black and grey suede spec b. not sure if thats even possible with the wagon fold rear seats and all.
  7. im in too!!! lets hear it, i gotta make decisions on turbos and stuff. need to see if this is gonna be ready and pricing so i can decide to switch to sti stuff or have patience.
  8. on to more turbo talk. not set just yet to buy but definitely looking at a bnr 18g for my 05 obxt. how detrimental would it be to run this setup on stock intercooler? i understand higher boost bullet proof all that. but would the flow/cooling efficiency be harmful or could i get away with it for a while? i wouldnt be looking at finding max power out of it since im at 115k miles, but more good power at very safe levels. i will obviously upgrade the intercooler asap but its kind of 1 piece at a time and who can sit there with a kick a$$ turbo on the shelf and not wanna slap it on?!!?!?!?!
  9. and we cant let the vortex beat us at this!!! especially with more subie pics to boot! http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5460638-The-Lifted-Wagons-Thread awesome factor +1,0000,0,0,0,0,0,0,00,0,,,,,00000000!!!! for the lifted golf in there. check the link and look at that build if you have some time on your hands.

  11. this needs more love!!! its easy to love a slammed outback but i want to see more done up lifted!!! im debating right now which way to go, kinda gearing up for a lifted appocalypse assault vehicle look kinda inspired by the toureg from repo men.
