Did you end up doing your pipe in mild steel or stainless?
-
I think I'm going to go with the cinnamon.
In all seriousness, it seems like I'd want the 2.5 inlet/2.5 outlet rounds. That seem about right to you?

Out of curiousity Perscitus: Does your car have that distinct smell that cars with your particular exhaust mod have?
-
I'm not interested in catless... But I'm sure there are cats on the market that can take the abuse because there are other cars out there that are putting out way more exhaust pressure than our cars could ever that have cats.
I don't know if Gio has the headers on. I think the issue may be due to exhaust pressure more so than heat, the stock headers are comically bad, I pried the heat shield off them after we removed them and they're basically 1" pipe that merges as quickly as possible with no thought given to turbulence. I would bet that we're producing a good bit more exhaust pressure than it's possible to push through the stock headers.

It's official, I think my cats are getting chewed up like Perscitus's. I have an appointment next weekend to take measurements and discuss options for sourcing some magnaflow high flow cats that should take Tim's abuse better.
Word to the wise: If you get the raptor headers, plan on getting high flow cats done at the same time....
-
Did you do your headers with a high temp coating as well? I was thinking about doing that when I do the work for the high flow cats.

How did we do on power results with the tb? I may be purchasing one too if it's worth it

Doesn't hurt to use them....

Raptor hopes to share pics of the V2.0 headers in approx 2 days time
How different are these going to be? Just different manufacturing or different design?
-
Log and send back to tuner.
I'm supposed to log today anyway because our roads finally dried out. Tuner's Rob so hopefully he can mess with it a bit.

I did a installed a new map about 5 days ago.

Anyone have DBW tables tweaked at all? My throttle response feels a bit lazy. The power's definitely there, but there's just some kind of laziness if that makes sense.
-
What a deal! I couldn't believe how affordable it was! I was expecting $600-800 range. Total (shipped) was $504AUD. So $394USD. Shipping is estimated at 6 days.
The US exchange rate is getting more and more favorable every day for buying raptor headers. I think it was in the 400s when I bought mine.

I never heard back from AMR, but it's just as well. I wound up dumping a bunch of money into a few non-car related projects as well as my upcoming trip to Fla. Maybe come May or June I'll give some more serious thought into getting it done.
I just had them retune my car. Send an email to sales at automasteramr.com

Well I mean for only 10 buck, how could you go wrong with all those bits? Screw driver bits get lost all the time, it's definitely worth having... I'd almost want to buy a second one just in case. The big thing I love in that set is the 1/4" ratchet adapter... It's great for those little screws that have way more torque on them than you can comfortably get with a regular screw driver.

It has a hex with a hole in it if that's what you need. Otherwise not sure what you'd need. I have one of these sets in my box and it's held up pretty well.
-
You may be able to get that allen wrench as a screw driver tip from harbor freight. They sell a giant collection of security bits for really cheap.
-
Steven is your tuner using ecutek? If so I'd be interested in talking to him about the parameters he changed so that my tuner can take advantage of that this weekend.
-
From what it sounds like the tune, intake and exhaust will get you that 0-60 in 5 and from what Perscitus has said the headers & piping are what give the car that big torque increase? Am i following this correctly?
Yes

Same for me and a dude on here whose name rhymes with erscitus.
People called me nuts for saying 5-flat to 5.2 with a launch. I do it as well on 93.
I'm pretty excited to see what it'll do with headers this weekend, because I'll probably be accused of being even more nuts which I don't deny.

I really want to have my Legacy modded like yours. But I am getting so much hate from friends saying it's same as modding a Camry...
Your friends are stupid. The modern Legacy is an AWD beast with all of the amenities you'd expect of a luxury car... But without that pricetag. It's completely different from a Camry.
I've gotten hate from people before for my choices, but I took one of those guys for a ride, a mustang guy, he admitted it's quite impressive what these cars can do and still be comfortable, roomy, and great in the winter.
What I have for what I spent is absolutely worth it to me, all the modern amenities (Nav, backup camera, etc), a very comfortable ride, decent handling, and it's quite fast for a car that size.

As soon as they say they're available I'm ordering... I have arranged install and a dunno tuNE already.

Your car is still running OK with the stock cats?
Mine seems to be running like crap with the bad cats... So I think the metal substrate high flows plus a retune will fix that for me.
