  1. Super Production is an expensive class to be competitive in. Why there and not ST? ST is expensive enough!
  2. Gex, sorry for this extremely late reply, I just confirmed that it's a Forced Performance 18g, installed in 2007 when they converted the car from Grand-Am to Time Attack.
  3. Update May 2014: I've updated the build thread here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/cool-article-05-scca-wagons-floating-around-still-73859.html First race weekend will be at Spokane May 29 - June 1. If your' close by please stop in, the event is free for spectators. I may ask you to help me turn a wrench too.
  4. Update May 2014: The wagon is back from Cobb Surgeline. On their Mustang dyno at 16 PSI it turned 309 TQ, 308 AWHP. In the ICSCC ST class that means I have to weigh around 3310 lbs. It's imprecise because the class uses Dynojet dynos which read 6-12% higher than Mustang dynos. The car weighs 3250 with me in it, so I bolted in 60 lbs of ballast. At the next race at PIR I will head over to Portland Speed Industries and have their AWD Dynojet certify my power at 14, 15, and 16 psi maps, then adjust weights to the lowest weight possible. The goal is to be at 10lbs/hp on a Dynojet dyno. More Mods: Installed front tow strap Racer mesh in front of FMIC and brake ducts New window net New Belts Cleared data in AIM MXL Pista Dash/Data Logger. New roll cage padding Cool Shirt System Relocated battery to back Exhaust pipes were straight thru, super loud, I would have certainly violated the decibel rule at most tracks. Cobb installed a set of prototype mufflers they had left over from a few years ago. Now it's really quiet. It's too bad, it was nasty before, now it's a kitten. Issues to be resolved: Fuel Sender is stuck on Low Fuel warning First race will be at Spokane Raceway May 29 - June 1.
  5. Here's a good shot of the camber/caster plates. I'll get better shots of the brake ducts when Cobb is done with it. http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/PassengerFront.jpg......... http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DriverFront.jpg
  6. Update: New ATL Fuel Cell bladder. Fuel Safe Collector with Bosch pump. COBB Subaru 1000cc Top Feed Injector Set Motive Autowerks Composite TGV Deletes- Metal Intake Manifold Aeromotive EFI Bypass Regulator COBB Lightweight Pulley COBB Tuning Electronic Boost Control Solenoid for '08+ STi/LGT Most all lines replaced with Aeroquip AEM 3.5 Bar MAP Sensor COBB Accessport V3 SPAL cooling fans. A ton of little fittings, hose ends ect. Couple of pics: http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/IMG_3141.jpg..... http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/CobbShop1.jpg New oil cooler lines: http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/IMG_3142.jpg"]http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/IMG_3142.jpg[/url] One of the JRZ 3 way adjustable coilovers is leaking....they are all coming off to be rebuilt. I'm investigating a cheaper setup to run while they are gone and have as a race day backup. The new JRZs 3-ways are super expensive, so am looking for more of a production type like KW Var2.
  7. Update: The car is at Cobb-Surgeline in Portland getting some TLC. Six years of storage required some major updating and safety gear replacement. First track event appears to be May 9-10-11 at The Ridge in Seattle.
  8. The LGT is still being fixed, but we got togther a team and ran our Acura Integra in the Star Projects "Rats of Spring" 8 hour enduro, and we won!:) It was a blast. We completed 196 laps in the counterclockwise direction at ORP, and won by 4 laps. The best part is each driver on our Mountain Goat Racing Team got a prize check, free race driving is a very good deal! CounterClockwise at ORP was VERY fun. Most of us got practice in on Saturday at the Test & Tune. I needed it. There are freaky scary blind corners at 80 mph unweighted! Cresting the top of Valkyrie Hill in CCW you have to start turning left while the track appears to be going straight over the hill. In reality to be on the racing line you better be turning before you go unweighted on the crest or you will have a heart attack on the other side! Most of us feel ORP is the most technically challenging track in the US. If you can drive well there in both Clockwise and CCW, you can go to any other track and be confident in your ability. It's also the most fun! The rules and entire process for Star Projects racing are much more relaxed than Chump Car or ICSCC Mini Enduro. If you have any desire to try your hand at racing they are happy to find a team for you that needs a driver, no racing license or car required. It's very helpful to have a few HPDE days under your belt, but again not required. The fields are much smaller than Chump Car so you can relax a little bit your first time out in a race car. In Chump you have cars passing you every few seconds, not in Star Projects, at least for now. I don't think there was a single incident of contact in the race. In Chump I've seen EVERY car in the field damaged at PIR in the rain at a night event. You DO have to have a SFI rated drivers suit, gloves, shoes, socks, and helmet. And a HANS type device is not required, but highly recommended. Some or all of the stuff you might be able to borrow from a racer friend who isn't busy that weekend. There are even Rental companies for the gear now! http://www.racesuitrental.com/ More info here or feel free to contact me directly for a phone call about it: http://www.starprojectsevents.com/
  9. No, I can't be there. Prior scheduled vacation before they announced the racing schedule. First event will be at the Ridge, May 9-10-11. See you there?
  10. The wagon will not be at ORP this weekend. It's at Cobb/Surgeline and will not be ready in time. I'll be there driving my Aura Integra for the T&T on Saturday, then on Sunday we'll have it in the 8 hour Rat Race enduro. Hope to see ya'll there!
  11. If the weather is good I will be bringing the car to the Bendlow Fest on Saturday at Subaru of Bend. http://bendlow.wordpress.com/2014/01/09/bend-low-fest/ Also Ali Afshar of ESX Motorsports and his 1600hp 7sec Subaru BRZ will be there. If it's snowing or raining I won't, the car has no front windows. Either way I'll post up some pics this weekend of the restoration work.
  12. A wing like this is effective, but limits rear vision: http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/carskenblocksubaruimprezasubaruimprezawrxsubaruimprezawrxsti1920x1080wallpaper_wwwwallmaycom_59.jpg http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/KenBlockmodp_0909_14_o2009_subaru_impreza_stirear_wing.jpg To see in the rearview I'll probably do something like this: http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/26613151.jpg Actually it will probably be more like the wing on the 2014 Honda Wagon race car in the BTCC. much simpler to fabricate and can be adjusted: http://www.topgear.com/uk/imageresize/image.jpg?OriginalImageUrl=%2Fuk%2Fassets%2Fcms%2F5a4d288b-77b7-40c3-a9a7-0746be475323%2FLarge+Image.jpg%3Fp%3D131129_03%3A51&Width=600&Height=339
  13. Yes, I'm looking at different rear wing options. I'll probably fab one based on some of the designs I see on the WRC cars. Pickup points can be changed as long as: "Every vehicle must retain its OEM strut towers, frame rails, floorpan, and firewall in their original configuration and intended usage, although the floor pan and tunnel on the driver's side may be modified for driver safety and comfort. Partial tube-frame chassis conversion is not permitted. If the car could not be driven normally with the tubes removed then it is considered to be tube frame." However I won't be changing the pickup points, that gets very expensive. For details see the ICSCC Rules Here, ST class starts on page 86: http://www.icscc.com/references/comp_regs_2013_complete.pdf
  14. In the ST class it's not about who makes the most power, we are all limited to 10lb/Hp. I will probably have to turn down the boost! That's good thing for racing reliability. The rule makes it much less expensive because we all aren't running our engines on the edge of blowing up. Then it becomes suspension, aero, and driver ability. The wagon will be at a disadvantage in the aero equation, but should be a blast to race anyway. Even at 10lb/hp it's still a very fast class.
  15. I'll have it at ORP for it's first session. ACCO and Team Continental will host a Track Day and Driving school that qualifies for ICSCC Novice License. We are planning for March 29, 2014. It should be up on Motorsports Reg soon, I'll post the link when it's up. I hope to meet some of you there!
  16. http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09227.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09226.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09220.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09221.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09224.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09219.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09209.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09211.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09218.jpg
  17. Thanks boxkita. I'll definitely be bringing it to a couple of meets in the Puget sound and Portland area. Salem and Eugene too if there are any.
  18. No Video yet, I haven't raced it, it's on the way to my shop! However there are pics in the Introduction forum and the PAcNW Forum. Here's a few: http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09213.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09212.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09210.jpg
  19. Hi Folks, I'm new to this forum and want to intro myself. I'm also new to Subaru Turbos and Legacys. However I did once have a 1981 Subaru Wagon I drove across the country a few times. I've just bought this car and am bringing it back to racing: http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09215.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09214.jpg..http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc359/MS6Hayate/DSC09210.jpg I'll be racing it in the ICSCC ST class across Oregon, Washington, British Columbia this year. I may do some NASA events too, not sure. Anyone who wants to come help a Legacy Wagon mix it up with Corvettes, Mustangs, and STIs , I'd love to draw on your knowledge about Subarus and their Turbo engines. Your welcome to join my pit crew at any event! I'm also building and 818R, more on that later... Sgt.Gator Colonel Red Racing,LLC and Racing818. Bend, Oregon
  20. I just bought this car. I'll be racing it in the ICSCC ST class this year. The ICSCC is a Pacific NW racing group across Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. Should be a blast to race a Legacy Wagon against the Corvettes and Mustangs.
