  1. I read somewhere (maybe this forum, maybe somewhere else) that you can force the battery to be charged (w/o TSB installed) by driving with the parking lights on (daytime obviously). Can someone confirm or refute this? If driving with the parking lights on forces the battery to charge, what about nighttime driving with the headlights on?

  2. I replaced the OE battery in my 2017 Legacy 2.5i Limited Jan 2022 with a Costco Interstate Group 25. Today I replaced the year old battery under Costco's 3 year warranty. I had to have the old battery jumped twice in 2.5 weeks after the car sat undriven for 2-3 days. (Warranty scam alert: they refunded my money for the old battery, then charged me for the replacement which is $10 more. FYI, a class-action lawsuit has been filed against Costco over their battery warranty.)

  3. Where is the switch that turns off the trunk light? I've recently been having a battery dying problem that I think might be related to the trunk light staying on. I recorded a video of the trunk light with the trunk closed & it certainly appears that the light stays on. Or as another resolution, how do you remove the trunk light bulb? Or does the light time out?

  4. I play MP3s on a thumb drive (3 GB+) in shuffle mode by file (as opposed to by folder). The radio seems to constantly pick the same group of files to play & most of those are from the first half of the alphabet. I rarely get an MP3 from the second half. Any ideas how to get a broader set of MP3s to play in shuffle mode? The thumb drive is always reformatted before adding new songs.
  5. When I first got my 17 Legacy back in 2016, I was pleasantly surprised to see that my speedo, gps & cruise control all showed the exact same speed (as opposed to my 14 Legacy where it was always slightly off). Tires were the oem Goodyear LS2s. About a month ago I replaced the Goodyears with Conti TrueContact Tours, same size. The car is no longer a DD & can go days w/o being driven. This past w/e we went to Philly & I noticed that the speedo no longer coincides with the gps & cruise control. It now appears to be about 1 mph faster. Could the Conti's circumfrence be slightly different from the Goodyears?
  6. What do you folks use to keep bugs from sticking to the windshield like glue. All the wipers do is either nothing at all or spread bug guts over the windshield. The only way it seems to clean the windshield is finding a good rainstorm or lots of elbow grease. I have tried RainX which helps a bit and different washer fluids which does nothing so far.

    Thanks

I'm a little surprised that no one has suggested using Bon Ami cleanser to clean the outside of your windshield. I've been using it for many years on different cars. Works great. BMW even recommends it. Here's a link to a Chrysler Sebring club explaining how to use it. I use a dedicated sponge instead of the washcloth. https://sebringclub.net/cleaning-the-windshield-with-bon-ami-t33631.html

  7. A few weeks ago I replaced my OEM Goodyear LS2's with Conti TrueContact Tour tires. They're an exact fit & their winter/snow rating is significantly higher than most other all-season tires for my 17 Legacy Limited. In fact, we're in the midst of a winter storm here in NY & I had to go out to help our DIL who had an accident in the snow. I felt in control wherever I had to go. FWIW. https://tinyurl.com/r9x8bal
