  1. Is that a problem or an opportunity for you?

Neither really. I have no desire to jump from the Machining group to the Assembly group...although there are a hell of a lot more women working the assembly line....

    Hmmm.

With the historical turnover rate here, it's just funny/sad to see it continue. It does seem like some much needed policy changes might be in the works though. We'll see, but I am not holding my breath.

  2. Generally speaking, 87 octane is sub $1.90 here in MO.

Sorry buddy. I swear there are some of us cool chicks still out there. Hang in there.

Every cool chick I have met is already taken. Finding one is quickly becoming a lost hope it seems.

  3. Hey all, although I'm a veteran on Nasioc, I'm new here. I've been put in charge of upgrades on my dad's '08 SpecB, so I'll be poking around here. If you're interested, check my WRX build thread -> http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1862152

Ok so my dad's SpecB has 95k+ on his car and is ready for a suspension upgrade. The stock SpecB suspension is really mushy and my dad HATES the squat whenever you get on the throttle. That being said, he doesn't track/auto-x the car and still wants a smooth cruiser and wants to retain as close to stock ride height as possible.

I've spent a bit searching around to see what's available. For some reason I remember reading that stock LGT suspension is slightly stiffer than SpecB, but I'm not 100% on that. Is that true? Even so, it probably would still be a bit mushy. I've ended up coming back to looking at a set of Epic springs as the right choice, possibly paired with KYB GR-2. Any thoughts on this setup?

I would opt for Koni inserts over GR-2s if you decide to go the Epic route.

I went with a fresh set of Bilstein HDs and STi pinks on my Spec B, and am very pleased with the result. Very subtle drop, decent ride, and improved handling.

  4. You probably have a loose connection somewhere. Did you verify that the flat cables are fully inserted? One may have come out when reinstalling the cd changer if it wasn't fully inserted.

Also, what kind of noise do you have? Is it whinning noise only when the car runs or you have a noise even with the car turned off? Is it only when the aux-in is active? Did you try the aux-in input while your headunit is on the radio AND when it is on CD player?

More info would be appreciated. If you think your unit is bad, send it back to me and I'll send you another one.

I am pretty sure the connections are good, but I will double check them when I get a chance.

The noise is basically a static noise which almost sounds like EMI from the ignition system as it does change with engine speed.

The noise is only present when the AUX in is active, and I am pretty sure it is there whether the engine is running or not. I will verify that tomorrow though.

The AUX in interrupts the sound from the CD player as I expected it to do when it is active.

While on radio mode, you hear mixing between the AUX in and the tuner in the radio. Is this not normal operation?

I will try to gather more details tomorrow. Thanks in advance for your help.
