I have Hamms tall boys in my fridge right now.

Not sure I agree with some of those rankings.
C-minus is awful. I do agree that Bud Light should be highly ranked on that list.
I did not see Hamms on that list though.

Eh, Lucas 75w90 seems to be working well in my turd. Between that and new clutch(converted to OEM SMFW), damn thing shift almost a well as a Honda.
YMMV.

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.
Enjoy the time with your family and loved ones.
Cheers!

All this talk of "we" travel...
lol.

I'm taking my $600 dollhairs on a well over due vacation, somewhere Covid safe like a secluded cabin in the hills.
I need to do the same. Still have 90% of my accrued vacation.
Fack!

Assuming your creds are safe because MFA is akin to thinking you're safe because the door dash delivery person puts on their mask before they get 10' from your door.
I used a 1%'er bank that had a data compromise. An employee took home a hard drive with customer data and creds. There was a break in. We don't use that bank anymore.
MFA is last feet security. If only the passwords are encrypted, and access to the data doesn't require decryption, what's the point of draconian password standards?
Reading the list of affected agencies...interesting.
Not good.

Installed new '05 headlights on the ole terd. She no longer has a cataract in her left eye.
Waiting on a timing kit to show up so I can do that and hopefully fix a few oil leaks. Have had a set of TiC FU bolts sitting around for years, and ordered new intake cam gears a few months back.
Figure I might as well show it a little bit of love.
-
Gabo,
No idea on pice, but dang if I could bring myself to upgrade one year, then that sounds like a hell of a good package.
-
Ordered a pair of '05 style headlights for the ole terd. She'll finally get that cataract fixed on her left eye.

I'm kinda surprised to see roots in Honda. I figured most of y'all started in cars like Camaros and Mustangs..
I started in an 85 Dodge Daytona, non turbo, base model. Grew to a V6 5spd ES model, then eventually to the Shelby I have..
Scotty
1979 Camaro Z28 --> 1992 Camaro RS, 1992 Taurus SHO, and 1995 Integra LS --> 1992 Integra GSR --> 1990 CRX Si --> 1991 civic STD and 1996 Civic CX --> 2006 Legacy GT Spec B.
There are several other concurrently owned vehicles in there as well. I think I had 6 at the same time once.
-
Had a DB2 GSR, an EJ6 Midori hatch with a bone stock Y7 with the Edelbrock turbo kit, and the last one was my ED6 hatch. That one started life and an STD was basically an EX with a semi-built B20V and damn decent suspension. That lil turd would scoot! I kinda miss it, but I needed to money and room at the time.

Started listening to A Brave New World on the drive home. It was actually making me physically uncomfortable.
Burnt the F out, and need to take a vacation. What a crap time to try to take one, especially solo. Sigh.
I sure as hell hope the economy doesn't tank next year, but it is hard to see how it won't.

At least take a swing at polishing the headlight before buying another. You can get good results with the standard $20 3m kit at Walmart.
The other side has a brand new headlight due to repairs from getting hit last fall. Even when it is polished out, it's pretty obvious.

The wet vs dry numbers simply point to worn ring seal, not necessarily blown ringlands.
Mine has been using oil at that rate for the past 80k miles of ownership. She's gettin mighty close to 200k.
There are a lot of variables when it comes to compression tests results and the absolute numbers.

Haven't done much to it lately other than have a low oil scare. Time to finally fix what appears to be leakin AVCS cam gears. Have those on hand now, just need to order a timing kit for the second timing belt interval that has passed...
Replaced the broken drivers door light switch after over a year.
Might have to break down an order a drivers side headlight so she doesn't have a cataract in one eye. Sure would make the ole gal a little more attractive.

and of course, a song about boobies...

Your Biscuits Are Big Enough For Me Lyrics
Baby don't put no more baking powder : in your bread you
see
Because you [two] biscuits : is plenty tall enough for me
Baby I don't want no more sugar : in your jellyroll you
see
Because your jellyroll : is plenty sweet enough for me
Some men like lunch meat : and some they likes old tongue
Some men don't care for biscuits : they like the doggone
big fat bun
Says some men you know they're straight : some crooked as
a barrel of snakes
Some men don't like bun and biscuits : like the doggone
flat batter cake
That was good for a hearty chuckle for what has been a crap week.
And sub'd to Volume 13.

Seconded. This has been one of my best investments. Never met anything it hasn't been able to loosen, or in some cases, shear into bits
On-topic: my new South Bend Stg2 daily clutch came in over the weekend. Planning on just resurfacing the flywheel and re-using it... anyone have any reason not to do so? It should be the STi SMFW, so no issues there.
snm95ls: Seems you likely had an OEM clutch (factory dual-mass FW was made by Sachs).
Interesting...
Is 186k on the stock clutch a record?
I suppose it is possible that it had an OEM replacement clutch put in, but that seems unlikely. Then again, that's what I did, but switched to a single mass setup.
Taking some adjustment, but this thing drives so much better now with the single mass clutch. It certainly has that very familiar Exedy feel to it.
-
Finally =got around to replacing the clutch in the ole unicorn.
Still had a dual mass setup in there, and the Sachs branded clutch is certainly not the Exedy Stage 1 that was claimed to be in it. That clutch setup did take a pretty surprising amount of aggressive driving somewhat frequently for nearly 7 years and 70k miles.
New 07+ OEM clutch setup is now in. It feels so friggin weird. Not sure I like it, but we shall see how long it takes to get used to it and if it changes any during break in.
Still need to address the front CVs. I was scoping out parts on Heuberger and noticed that SOA sells the whole joint. Might be the hot ticket to repair what is needed without shelling out 350 per side for a new axle.
Noticed the RH ball joint has a little play and a torn boot. That will have to be addressed as well. IT might be a good excuse to get the Whiteline roll center correction kit, but that seems a bit much with only being lowered on STi Pinks. I haven't ever noticed any significant bumpsteer, but perhaps there are some gains to be had with regard to negative camber gain during compression. Still a laughable amount compared to SALA setups.
It has been going through oil pretty fast for a couple years now. I am sure it burns some just from the deposits I have seen on the spark plugs, but it seems to leak quite a bit too. Noticed the bottom RH side of the engine was pretty wet with oil, and it seemed to be coming from up front. Pulled the timing cover to investigate, and noticed that it looks like the AVCS cam gear is wet, so that will be more $$$ to replace the cam phasers. Might as well start ordering timing belt stuff to go with since I am at that next replacement interval.
Finally gave the poor thing a bath now that spring seems to be on its way.
Ole #8 is still kicking. Still cheaper than the monthly payment on a new car...
-
Replaced the propshaft after 186k miles with a used unit. Rear u-joint was locked up in one axis.
I suppose that isn't bad, but a "non-serviceable" propshaft is a bit of a nuisance. A new shaft was $660 at the local Subaru stealership, $510 at the local parts stores, and the used one was basically $250.
At least the ole silver terd is back to being nice and smooth and quiet. The vibration was getting so bad that it would damn near rattle your teeth out.
-
Replaced the rear wheel bearings yesterday as the left rear was getting noisy enough to be quite irritating. Can't complain too much as they lasted 185k miles.
The ole terd now has SKF branded hub/bearing units on all 4 corners. If they last even half as long, I will be suitably impressed.

Interested as well if the deal with Pleides doesn't go through for some reason.
-
Would you be willing to sell the sunvisor clips and the front drivers side door jamb switch?
-
Drove it to work and back for the first time since the end of August. Feels great to be driving something that is roughly 2000 lb lighter. She's a bit more spry than a 1 ton pickup truck.

Need to change the oil, but it is way too cold for that nonsense.
She's officially part of the 200k club now too.
There's sooooo much salt all over the roads here. Almost lost it driving into work Tuesday morning on icy roads. I claim autox saved me, but it was probably mostly luck.
I am hoping it warms up enough to knock out the timing belt and AVCS gears here soon. On borrowed time now with the timing belt.
