  1. The last time I talked to Mikey, the Shop reads about 5-10% higher than EFI. So you probably gained some power, despite what the numbers say (apples to orange comparison). What does the butt dyno say?

You have it backwards, The Shop reads a little lower. But your comparison is correct, the numbers are very similar to my previous tune with lower boost.

If we add the 5% to my numbers from yesterday we get:

    297whp

    316wtq

    So +4whp -3wtq. Negligible difference with -1psi.

I hate talking about dyno numbers this much, as there are so many variables, and they should be taken with a grain of salt anyway. Overall, I would say the car feels very similar to before, even with lower boost. I'm not sure I would notice with a blind test. I would say the boost comes on a little smother, and holds very clean with a taper to 16psi.

  2. Installed mine this last Saturday. Instead of the coating I decided to put some reflective film on it.

Couple of things I noticed. The liner does not go back on to the underside of the hood. It might be able to, but I did not force it as it tears easily. The AC line bracket on the firewall mount is different on the LGT then WRX. There is a lip on the back of it that I needed to grind down to get the mount to angle properly. Here is what I'm talking about:

Otherwise I really like the intercooler and the splitter. Well engineered. What I really love is that you can access all the PIA hoses on the back of the manifold and below it without removing the intercooler. As my little BOV vacuum line got pulled off on the install and I could put it back without touching the IC. Very, very handy.

i had the same issue with the rear bracket. Seems like they didn't even test this for the Legacy. Something like that should have been noticed and the bracket should have been modified.

Sorry for the silence guys, I was out of the office last week and then we were at Wicked Big Meet over the weekend. Part of the delay and lack of updates is that there's nothing particularly interesting to share/show at the moment. One of the reasons that we're taking our time and doing this all right is to avoid the backorder situation that we've had on some recent releases that have been much more successful than we could have dreamed.

With in-house manufacturing of very high-end parts like this, it's really not as simple as 'just make more'. We need the welding manpower, the equipment so support those hours, the space for that equipment, the space to store 500+ cores, 1000+ end tanks, the finished products and all associated accessories, packing, etc. Something like this is a MASSIVE undertaking for a small business and we've learned a lot along the way. Rule #1 is to not rush anything to market that we cannot FULLY supply and support. This will be worth the wait, 100%. For those that simply can't wait (and I do understand that sometimes you don't have a choice), I recommend that you pick up your next choice used and then sell it when ours becomes available.

Trust me guys, we want to release this worse than anybody and we're doing our absolute best to get them in your hands in a timely manner, but these things just can't happen overnight. We don't have overseas factories with thousands of workers at our disposal; there are ten of us. :)

Thank you for your support and patience! We had a great time meeting a bunch of you at Wicked Big Meet over the weekend and are so thankful that you're being so patient with us. Cheers!

Are you only going to offer a 2 week window with a 50 person limit like how the STI GB started?

There will be a two week window for opting in and a two week window to send payment, no limit.

Is there a more updated projected release date yet?

Unfortunately, nothing accurate. We're having some delays with the casting of the end tanks, but are working through them. I'll update you when I can be confident with a date. Still hoping for a summer release!

  4. So from the first Spec B # thread (http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/2006-spec-b-registry-old-22377.html)

    #296 unknown (Loveland, CO)

    #300 spec Bst (Denver, CO)

    #314 unknown (Longmont, CO)

Back then, people were updating the dealerships where the cars were for sale. As far as I can tell, #296 & #314 are unaccounted for as well. All three listed here started on the front range. Did spec Bst ever reply to you fallenhero?

His production number is only 4 spots away from #305, #304 is unaccounted for. There is a very good chance that's his number. But his # is definitely <305.

  5. hey everyone just bought a spec b that came from Colorado but heres the deal the dealer did not have the number for the car this car was in a accident but has a clean title im thinking whoever else had this car at the tie of the accident may have kept the number as a keepsake I know I would have I have contacted soa and they cannot give me the number though the vin number come back as a spec b it is on 06 so im in the right thread any I have the vin if anyone needs it as cross reference. thanks in advance guys

So, I've been doing some digging for you. The last 6 digits in Subaru VIN's are the sequential production line number. I have been searching other 2006 Spec B VIN's and it seems that they were made sequentially on the production line (i.e. 1 was made first, 500 last). This would be great if they were only producing Spec B's, however all the other Legacies were jumbled in there. But the difference in the productions numbers does not vary too much (maybe 5 in-between each Spec B #). If you could find out which two other Spec B VIN's yours is in-between, that would give you your number.

Here's a decent start at some Spec B VIN's: http://legacygt.com/forums/search.php?searchid=12950402 (search 2006 spec in classifieds)

Here's is the Subaru VIN information: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/vin.html

Edit: to add to this, I would go through all the FS threads, find all the VIN's with their respective #'s. Make a list of everything you can find. Then figure out which Spec B #'s your VIN lies in-between. Then if you cannot figure it out from that, PM the members on this list that would further narrow down your search. With enough ground work it can be done.
