  1. A few of my friends will be joining the party over the course of this week
  2. Hey guys, I have been going through the ISO files and mds/ version text logs. Seems there was a bit of confusion and I apologize for it all. I am uploading a verified version 8 EAST AND WEST. I will update the link in the top thread and then post it again down here. Sorry for all the screw ups, but hey...it's free right? lol depending on compression and upload to drive time, it should be done in a few hours.
  3. To my knowledge, there isn't a brand specifically that will work better than the other as far as type of DVD. As long as it fits all the data it's good, however brand wise ImgBurn is what I use to burn the .iso's Remember, a dual layer DVD is almost the same price at staples and fits more data
  4. VERSION 9 is out so it should only be a few weeks before I have access to it.
  5. Burn it preferably with DVD-ROM booktype setting if your burner supports it. If you have Imgburn, that is what I use. I believe it's still free.
  6. There will be an update on another hour or so. Believe there was a mix up on east and west files if anyone has issues. **It is compressed and uploading to google drive right now. Likely it will take all night so I will refresh the links in the OP in the morning before work if I have time.
  7. I didn't include the Toyota stuff because of its lack of voice nav. Just trying to help ppl out
  8. Hopefully this helps at least a few: MY NAV WRITE UP So after a lot of time and a fair amount of $ spent, this is my overview of what I have found looking for solutions to the crap nav that Subaru stuck us with. Some of us want the bells and whistles (myself included) that most base model cars are getting these days for creature comforts ie: Bluetooth for music and phones, DVD/CD inputs and such (or for some of you unlucky people just an AUX input). Here are all the solutions I have found: REPLACEMENT/TABLET INSTALL: My first choice was looking into the Tablet install. There’s all kinds of write ups on both LGT.com and other websites. Below are links to products to help with this process. The only thing that stopped me so far from completing this process is that my tablet is an android based (Galaxy Tab 3) and it will not turn on like the iPads when connected to power, so if it runs out completely of battery life it would be a pain to dig it out just to push the power button. There is talk of how to input code to make this happen, but that’s a bit above my head for the time being. (LINKS) AVO JDM DOUBLE DIN CONSOLE PANEL AV PANEL SET (In Dash kit for stock radio replacement) SVXDC's Wiring Harness and goodies Program Android Tablet to AUTO ON when charging **Again this is useful to Android tablet installs because unlike iDevices, they do not automatically turn on when connected to power, so if the battery dies than it can be a pain without a previously planned way to access the power button which has also been done before on these forums. If doing a dash nav/tablet replacement isn’t what you’re looking for there are plenty of options for mounts with both of the following companies: ProClip USA Ram Mount USA I have had limited experience with both of these companies and their products, but all of it was great! Now for the juice, if you are looking for the latest and greatest MAPS for your whipski then here is the direct download link to a google drive I made just for map updates. This is the latest Version 8 update compatible with the Kenwood system found which you can find out more about here: CLICK ME If you would like. VERSION 8 VERSION 9 If you don't see east, wait an hour or so and try again. It's still uploading right now (12 APR 9:20 East Coast US time) and version 9 is coming your way in roughly a week. If for some reason the links are broken OR your vehicle doesn’t have compatible maps and you would like to see if you can find the latest and greatest for your model than you can look HERE I think that about sums it up. Please ask questions HERE if you have them and not via PM, this will prevent them from being asked over and over (or at least until the thread is too long for someone to want to read). Enjoy. Hope it helps. Lastly, If you are an enthusiast like myself and wish to help others, please donate. It is not required, but it is appreciated to help with the time and costs associated with the nav updates. Enjoy :-) DONATIONS APPRECIATED ==========================BREAK=============================V10 INFORMATION IS BELOW============= Well it is finally here. Version 10. Thanks to some help from AMM23. Remember to donate if you can. V10 WEST V10 EAST GO FUND ME DONATIONS Again thank you goes out to AMM23 and all the members who have supported the release of previous versions.
  9. i've heard that, and i really don't plan to have the tuner push it to its limits with the tune, so the OEM pistons should hold just fine, but i've read some disturbing stuff about them in the 09' engines which is what im dropping in. I haven't really decided either way.
  10. So I was the lucky second owner of the 08 LGT Limited time bomb which finally gave way. I'm swapping to a 2009 sti block 257, but I am stuck on this piston situation. I have read a lot on both positive and negative of going forged and still seem undecided. My LGT is a DD as it is my only source of transportation for the foreseeable future. Granite State Tuning has already sent me a tune for my tiny little build list which thus far looks like: 365lph fuel pump 750cc grimspeed injectors CNT Racing catless dp STI catless up pipe Zero miles VF52 brand new built (journal not bearing) and of course the EJ257 While in the shop the other day a local subie guru mentioned the forged pistons because of ringland failures. He suggested forged pistons, but my issue with that is my 2 mile drive to work (7 or 8 now because I am taking a longer way to let the battery and recharge system do it's job as well as let the engine fully warm up). From what I've read the forged pistons expand to such a degree that they will need a lot of warm up time. I have an auto start (5EAT) so I typically let my car idle for 5-10 minutes anyway prior to driving, I check oil daily (rotella t6 synthetic every 3k miles) and make sure to keep up on maint. I don't #racecar every day, but I do get on it fairly often when on the high way, i mean who wouldn't? So with all that said.. I don't plan on telling my tuner to push boost to the max (which seems to be a leading cause of ringland issues) .. should I bother with forged? This isn't ever going to be a track car and could likely be transporting me across the US at least one more time. I don't have my sights set any higher than 350whp. 1) Should I worry about forged (If I should than now is the time since a new motor is going in) 2) If I should stay OEM (which is where i'm currently leaning) what can be done other than managing moderate boost levels, to prevent ringland issues? ***UPDATE*** Now leaning towards forged 4032's after reading more into it.. the OP had a great write up, but the OP's quoted text seemed geared more towards the 2618's as it spoke to things like piston slap and eventual bore out of round issues after not many miles which I completely agree with.
  11. I dont have a nexus so I am using a galaxy tab 3. My question is for people who have a tab installed already. if the tablet loses all power after turning the car off say overnight, and you turn your car on the next day, how do you get your tablet to power on without access to the power button on the side? with my ipad it powers on automatically whe connected to power, but my galaxy tab does not. Any ideas?

  13. Which is why this is funny ...had to get my morning troll out of the way
  14. So you're saying humidity is probably playing a factor. ..which goes back to the issue stated stated a few dozen times. Soldering the bad connections in the overhead console area where the map lights are will solve.the issue. If it doesn't. ..your start from the fuses and follow the wires looking for corroded wires and possible shorts.
  15. Don't have the soldering skills to crack open my tab. As long as I can get at the home button to wake the screen up I'm good. Power I can control to sleep and turn on with rooted apps
  16. Only thing that stops me from say this http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/08/05/azehu8e8.jpg Is not having access to the power, volume or home button. I can get around every one except the home button. Giving a constant power source is easy but what happens if the screen falls asleep? I'm using a galaxy tab3 not a nexus 7. Is the JDM piece larger than what I already have from my stock 08 LGT nav?
  17. WOO I should be joining this around june or so if all goes well. I'm from Maine, but hoping the job will send be back north for a few years. Cannot wait to get my 08 LGT in the snow :spin:
  18. Easy up on what? You are posting for airbag light issues in a thread that has nothing to do with airbag lights. There are plenty of threads and ANSWERS to the issue on the forum. I know for a fact because I've read them, used them, and since solved my problem. There is literally a photo step by step solution posted on here. All I said was search the forums, don't show up in a thread and post a question that has nothing to do with the thread topic. Read the forum rules bub, it ain't rocket science.
