I stumbled across this thread last night as I was searching for an update to the 4.0 navigation DVD's that came with the 2011 Legacy GT I bought over the weekend. I saw that another 5th gen owner tried version 8 and and it worked for them so that is where I started. Version 8 works like a charm and I had turn by turn navigation all the way to work this morning. Many kudos to proflashrtist for your work!

 

I am curious if anyone with a 5th gen has had any success with version 9 or version 10?

Way back in the OP should be the link where I got the OEM discs. They are at a VERY discounted rate from that source. I don't have any idea if it is still a valid source or not though lol. If the website is up, he's still making discs. Shoot him a msg and snag a copy.

Does anyone know if a stock pushbutton switch partnumber if that is available? I was referring to the switches beneath the side mirror tilt angle adjustment control.. Currently they are just place holders that can't be depressed on my 2007 outback. I believe that should have should have functions on other legacy models. Thinking of hooking that to the power button on the Nexus 7.

The limited LGT has a heated wiper blade button that goes there. Downfall is you have to be in the car to turn it on, but it activates the little strips on the bottom of the windshield glass to de ice the wipers.

Now onto my next task... which is seemingly turning almost impossible. Anyone know where i could possibly get updates (Not from kenw$$d or dealer direct) for this radio? I bought it used without a nav. disk, so i bought a V1 from ebay to test it out prior to install. It works but has old ass maps.

attempted to DL v9 east and west... kept getting failed. Is the file avail? working on trying v8 now.

 

**update** tried both, neither worked on my laptop. keep getting errors. cannot download.

Hey sorry it didn't work. I haven't logged on in a long time, so maybe that's why. I will see if I can get into it tonight and fix it. Selling my LGT so I am not really using it anymore.

I'd gladly donate again for V10. It's definitely out and touted as an August 2015 release. Still guessing it's behind but maybe not as much as V9 was.

my OP should have a direct link to where you can get V10. I will make sure they all work still. I no longer use my stock nav because after my double din install, it seems like the nv isn't getting enough power or maybe there's a security feature that was activated. I say that because now the screen is unresponsive 9 days out of 10 and I am not paying to have new lcd screen put on.

That's what I was thinking as well but when I go into my menu options and go to navigation info it'll show my coordinates and which satellite it's using and vehicle speed. But if you don't mind sending me the disc that would be great!

The latest version is FREE and available to download. I host it on my google drive for anyone who wants it. PM me if you need a copy and can't figure it out. We are on version 9 now.

Did all of you use a dual layer DVDR? I just tried burning it but the file is 6.xGB and won't fit on my standard 4.7GB disc. Thanks

Yes. Because of thefile size a dual layer disc is required.

links still work, not sure it will work for a 2012 GT... you should have the latest maps anyway.

I have this issue with a previous copy I burnt.

If you guys are still having issues let me know. I will package IMGBURN (Free - clean software pkg) with instructions into google drive as well.

So the V.9 disc works in my 08 Spec.B, but route calculation takes forever. It never "finishes" the calculation providing 3 routes an ETA's. It kind of hangs there. When I press the give Maps key, it finishes and defaults to quickest route.

 

Anyone else experience this?

Haven't had this issue at all. Sounds more like the unit itself not the DVD. Have you tried going back to your last version and checking to make sure?

I think I just answered your question in the other forum lol but in case i missed you, version 7 for your car is in the OP. You can buy it for about $30 a disc (if there's 2) or you can buy only one disc. If you do purchase it and would like to share, just send me the .iso and I will host it for others to DL.
