very nice indeed. that should give me somewhat of an idea what mine will do once I get my 20G installed next week (and after it's tuned)
You'll need the meth as well
Nice time Dave, I don't think I can match that !

the only parts i need for replacement are the hub assembly and axle nut? same for the rear? hub comes with wheel studs?
Correct, and a spray can of penetrant as they are usually rusted to hell.
You can resue the axle nut, but it's not recommended.

from what i remember the lgt brakes are better than the 4pot from the wrx?
i might be mistaken however
You are not mistaken at all

What rotors are those ?
Every other slotted rotor I've seen has the slots the other way around, with the leading edge on the outside of the rotor ?
Just curious.

When you measure the circumference, do you have the car in the air ?
I would be interested to know how much a couple of psi difference between tyres makes on the circumference.

What do you guys think about putting the impreza s203 wing on the legacy?

I think it would look sexy!
As sexy as a cheap whore.
Don't do it !

Holy cow man. Great walk through but no way I would even think about attempting that.

random qsn:
could we potentially replace the hub with an STi one to go to 114.3 PCD?
i'm at the point where i need to get mine done, but i'm guessing that subaru will not do it under warranty as i've got coil overs and a whole bunch of other stuff as far as handling goes...
That depends on your dealer. My rear ones were done under warranty, but I have a good relationship with them, and had a lot of work done there in the past which I have paid for.

Question about diagnosing which wheel bearing has failed. Listening while the car is in motion is a little difficult. I have a hum but I'm having a hard time finding out where it's coming from.
If I have no access to a lift or rollers, how can I tell which corner its coming from? Seems like I would probably have to just take it to a shop to diagnose?
The only certain way is to put the car on a lift and then run it in the air. Listen with a screwdriver against each hub to see which one is loudest.

I changed the front bearing yesterday, a few pics during the work:

New hub vs old hub, notice the change in design

New hub installed

It is a pretty simple job, but the hub bolts were badly rusted and took alot of hammering to get them out, otherwise not hard at all.

You don't have to have an alignment done after replacing any of the hub assemblies right?
No, nothing will have changed, or should have changed.

So where's the best place to buy the cable?
Here? http://www.autonostics.com/product.php?productid=2&cat=2&page=1 $15 but shipping makes it $20.
I found some on ebay...some have a silver USB cable, some have the blue...no mention of brands though. Can someone who bought it off of ebay point me to one they have working? Seems to be cheaper @ teh fleabay.
That's the one, the blue one. Make sure you download the driver for it too.

How is this guy going to stop ? he has no calipers on those magnificent looking brake discs
-
It comes as a complete assembly, I don't think you can buy just the bearing.
-
no problems here, works like a charm.

so you're logging and flashing?
No no nooooo
I wouldn't dare start messing with the ECU, I'm not that smart

BBK Brake Bias List
in Suspension/Brakes
Posted
Read through the whole thread, very interesting information indeed.
Now that I have completed the Brembo F&R install, I was wondering about the bias, and how to actually measure it rather than calculate it.
Braking generates heat; would it be too simplistic to measure the difference in temperature of the rotors after a long hard braking and use that as a way of seeing what the bias is ?
