  1. FWIW my turboxs catless downpipe overboosts right now, granted I havent gotten a proper finished tune so take that information with a grain of salt. You can talk about how premium the materials are on this nameless downpipe or say whatever, but I'm gonna list mine on the classifieds for a rock bottom price and I'm sure it will still sit there forever. If you don't call that worthless I don't know what you would call it. I can't speak for everyone else but I have less a problem with the product itself and more of a problem with the people at nameless and they way handled this whole situation. It was over a year before they ever even acknowledged anyone, and now half a year later they come here with some bullshit logs that don't make any sense and left us with more questions than answers. Not to mention you know they are reading this because they sign on to thank my posts trolling them but don't actually post anything useful. I think most of the people here thought they were buying something from a group of professionals who stand behind the products they make. Instead it turns out we got a product from a bunch of children with access to stainless steel, jigs, and welding torches

When the hell did TXS sell a catless DP for our cars? I doubt they would make just 1 DP though. =/

  2. From a different thread...

I took some videos for fake internet points! and to contribute to the community. Mods - please link this stuff into threads that are appropriate. Additionally, Mods, please feel free to download the videos and upload them into a different video source than dropbox. In other words, I grant you full copyright license to do what you want with the videos.

    Waste gate flapper and actuator

This is a Kinugawa 20G/TD05 but appears to utilize the OEM waste gate flapper and actuator. It does not appear to open beyond the plane defined by the exhaust flange/surface of the exhaust housing of the turbo (which I think is relatively standard). It does appear, however, to be pretty dang close (e.g., so as to not make contact with the flat surface of the OEM downpipe). As (I think) mentioned by fahr_side in another thread, I suppose there is nothing stopping folks with bellmouth downpipes (like me) in using an actuator rod that opens the waste gate flapper valve further for less restriction by flapper valve, less turbulence with turbine exit flow, etc. Some delicious food for thought.

    Waste gate porting

My waste gate was ported by the guy that previously performed the port and polish services for a widely respect Subaru aftermarket parts company based in Minnesota (before they stopped offering such services). It looks pretty.

I have not run this turbo yet, so I don't know how effective the waste gate porting is.

    Peace out,

  3. My guess would be no, why else would they be doing it now? If they already knew it was good they wouldn't be wasting their time.

They probably relied on the experience of the fabricator.

I am surprised with all that talk a while back about fluid dynamics programs noone here has plugged the two designs into a program.

I am really curious what you all plan to do if they come back with no issues on the test car?

If they come back with no issues, I would hope they make a more detailed write-up on how to install the DP. 2 weeks till November. Lets hope for the best =)

  4. Nope and I wouldn't have any idea what I was doing anyways, I am not very experienced with computers so I would be able to plug it in and that's about it. I figured someone would have helped me step by step, but no one has. It may seem easy for you guys to do something like this, but I have never done it before so I will need help. If not we will be waiting until November unless someone else with the original downpipe logs theirs. Have you guys made sure your downpipes were installed correctly, and the ones who haven't installed theirs should make sure it's clocked the right way so it's not hitting anything? You can't just throw it on and tighten it, it needs to be at a certain angle just like the rest of the exhaust.

Email por favor! I just made a bandicam recording of the install/config. I will send you the necessary files as well. You will need to contact Nameless finding out what they want logged exactly though

  5. Got my downpipe installed, no porting today. If I am wrong here I would love to know, but I don't see a lot of room for porting the wastegate. There is probably a few mm max.

For this thread I will add my advice for the what did you do thread.

Drop the whole turbo and manifold, it is way easier than trying to work under the car.

I took a vid of the wastegate so you all could see how much material there is to port, I will have to upload it to youtube and put a link here. My plan if I get over boost is to purchase a stock turbo have it ported and then swap them out. I can afford the down time on the car now.

I will post some logs tomorrow hopefully.
