  1. Yes, that or take the 2 bags of concrete out of the trunk Front looks perfect to me - back looks too low... ?'s - - how much gas in the car when this shot was taken & do you normally - if ever - carry passengers in the back seat... Both of these questions need some mulling over before you can determine whether the front is not low enough or the back is already too low... I think the later myself....
  2. Myles, It would seem from the photos that you are achieving ride height adjustment through changing the spring pre-load only - is this correct ?
  3. Liked the page - looked at the gallery - then unliked.... WHY post a 4th gen Facebook Tribute page in a 5th gen forum ? This is the Legacy Photos ( 2010+ ) forum... I'd have no problems and certainly don't have any 4th gen hatred but if you at least had a few ( 20% perhaps ) of the CURRENT models there I would be interested - I am simply not that interested in last decade's models
  4. And how are we supposed top find this "tribute" without any links ? A search of facebook including your user name yields no joy............
  5. Well I have to admit that although I am ABSOLUTELY NOT A FAN of the Plastidip craze that seems to proliferate this site - - I do like what you did with your grill and feel that this is the first and only time that I have found plastidipping to have any saving grace... Doesn't look ghetto at all Good decission - good eye / judgement knocking it off the wings - - actually looks VERY nice... Congrats... but just don't mess up you wheels OK... I can't tell looking at most photos on this site if there are some models there with it - but one nice thing about the DIT's here in Japan is that the chrome on the grill is different from other models - kinda a smoked / black chrome as opposed to the bright chrome = = = if I didn't have that I might just go for your treatment... Cheers,
  6. JDM Legacy Touring Wagon GT 2.0 DIT - BRG Wheel: Ray's Engineering Homura 2x7 <~> 19 x 8 +48 in Spark Silver Tire: KUMHO SPT KU31 <~> 225/40-19 93Y XL Suspension: Blitz ZZ-R Damper #92777 Spring Rate: 7.0kg front 6.0kg rear Spring Static length: 198mm Damper Length Setting ( between spring preload and length nut ): Front: 60mm Rear: 40mm Car height - ground to top of fender well: Front: 664mm Rear: 672mm Damping Adjustment: 15 clicks from full hard front <~> 17 on rear
  7. Here you go.... Finished the install last night - Blitz ZZ-R dampers + Ray's Homura 19x8 48 + 225/40-19 Couldn't go much lower without regular rubs - - hope she doesn't settle more than 10 - 15mm
  8. Just went Summer Mode... Summer Time Pearl Blitz ZZ-R dampers and Ray's Homura 19x8 48 offset with 225/40-19 Nothing to report ride-wise - they only went on last night...
  9. There was a promo from Blitz here that gifted you one set of springs of your choice of rate... Like yourself I opted / requested 8kg so that I can go 8 / 7 or stay 7 / 6... We'll see next week when they finally go on...
  10. They aren't on yet - those are my snows... It will be a couple more weeks probably before the dampers and wheels go on - - it still gets below zero here at night although tonight it's still 2*C at 11:00 pm... If you look just past the front fender you can see about a 1m high snow bank - - we still have 1 - 2 meters of snow in the middle of the parks...
  11. Today Spring poked her head out from behind a snowbank here in Sapporo Japan so I took advantage of this nice break in the weather to give the wagon a Spring detailing... Wash, Clay-bar, Sealer & Carnuba took about 6 hours and my back and glutes are gonna be sore tomorrow but the result was well worth it... I really love the combo of Autoglym Super Resin Polish followed by Autoglym High Definition Wax... works for me....
  12. rpoMa3eka - nice car.... I met 2 guys at my Subaru dealer here in Sapporo from Владивосток & Южно Сахалинск who where trying to buy / order Legacy 2.0GT DIT wagons... The dealer asked me to come in and show them mine and give them some comments on my experience so far... Nice guys - I think that they ordered them but not too sure...
  13. First Impressions ? ? Is it the chubby younger sister that many 4th Gen guys think it is ?
  14. Thanks - I waited almost 2 months for them to build it at the factory but was pretty happy when it arrived - and still am now... It should come together pretty well this spring - I don't plan on doing anything yet to the motor as it already has 300ps but I will be concentrating on the suspension / tires this summer... There is still no tuners here in Japan that are willing to stick their necks out on the DIT and the fact that I live up north doesn't help as most tuners are on Honshu ( Tokyo -> Osaka mainly ) I already have Blitz ZZR dampers sitting in my hallway waiting to go in along with the Ray's wheels and 225/40-19s as soon as the weather clears up ( we had another snow storm today ) Waiting for my Cusco front & rear sway bars to arrive and will be adding all 4 of Cusco's power braces sometime in the summer - may go with the rear lateral links and trailing arms but that will be a wait and see thing - perhaps next spring... We are starting to see other parts starting to show up now for the latest editions BRG & BRM models - nice factory looking "D" shaped steering wheel finally came available that uses all the factory switches and air bag etc., - looks really nice... There will be a flood of parts & mods coming this summer I am certain but I am also certain that my 2013 MOD budget will be spent very soon and anything else will have to wait... Cheers,
  15. It's been a long cruel winter so my baby sure needed a good cleaning today. Spring has yet to properly arrive here in Northern Japan so I still have to wait for a while to give her the full treatment... She sure gonna need a good going over with a clay bar... She is still sitting on her winter boots - can't wait to see her with the new 19" wheels and the dampers installed... Should look a lot different 45mm lower with 225/40-19s...
  16. Wheels arrived today - nice.. Their arrival coincided with a strong Blizzard here in Hokkaido so for now all I can do is stare... Once again.... Ray's Homura 2x7 19x8 +48 & Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 225/40ZR19 The stock center caps are nice but I have other ideas and think that they will look quite awesome with the STi Center cap decals I got purchased a few months ago... Think these babys are going to look fine.... Stock centers... My choice... Full look... Spoke profile...
  17. Convinced myself over lunch with my social director who was remarkably supportive... So, trigger has been pulled 19x8 +48 Homura in SS ( sparkle silver )... I didn't really need tires as I have a good set of used BS Potenza 001's hanging around from my previous ride BUT they had a deal that offered a set of Kumho SPT KU31's for just 25,000円 more or 250usd ( way too cheap to pass up )... The Kumho's enjoy a mediocre rating in online customer reviews but seem to do well in the wet which is a plus... Size was limited to only 225/40-19 so they will be set aside for sale or a rainy day etc., If anyone has any experience with the Kumho's please comment or send me a PM... Thanks for the input from the commenters above - looking forward to snow pissing off soon so that I can get the tires and dampers on... It is really hard to believe that I have had a total of 25kms running on summer tires only because I refused delivery in November unless I could do a quick shake-down on the factory wheels and summer tires... Should look nice with these wheels and a - 45mm frt - 47mm rear drop which is the Blitz recommended settings for their ZZR dampers on the BRG Legacy Wagon... It's nice that they publish a set-up page for each model of car they sell for that lists recommended pre-load, static spring heights, damper settings and shock lengths to achieve their best "road course & street" tests - along with letting you know what sort of drop you will get with those settings...
  18. On the esthetic side of things - - I am not sure that the shiny wheel suits the pearl paint and maybe a little too "look at me" - - I guess a sort of balance thing - I always get a kick out of those guys that have the huge sparkly wheels that immediately draw your attention away from the vehicle itself... Seems that the silver is more of a balance... If my LTW was black or blue pearl I wouldn't even be asking the question.... On the practical side of things - - The reasoning for me leaning towards going to the Spark Silver was that ~ with the diamond cut if you get any road rash you cannot touch them up - unlike silver which you could for minor damages at least... Sound reasoning ? ? ?
  19. One last thing - does anyone have an opinion or experience regarding a silver wheel vs a cut-finish face black accent wheel... with respect to a SWP painted car... This wheel is available in Spark Silver or RVC/DC ( diamond cut ) in Japan and although the real shiny finish of the RBC/DC appeals my personal opinion falls to the Spark Silver for use with Satin White Pearl... Seems like the cut finish face would suit a dark finish car better... SS http://www.rays-msc.com/wheels/img/2x7-sl.jpg RBC/DC http://www.rays-msc.com/wheels/img/2x7-rbc.jpg This http://www.rays-msc.com//wheels/img/homura2x7-v1.jpg vs http://www.rays-msc.com//wheels/img/homura2x7-v2.jpg Opinions appreciated.... Cheers...
  20. Getting ready to pull the trigger on new wheels... Whaddaya think ? Should look nice on SWP wagon or do you think too pedestrian ?... 19 x 8 +48 Rays Homura 2x7 http://www.rays-msc.com/wheels/img/2x7-sl.jpg on a 5 series... http://www.rays-msc.com//wheels/img/homura2x7-v2.jpg
  21. You don't want those because they are non-rebuildable... The Blitz ZZR dampers that I purchased for my DIT Wagon represent the next-wave of suspension products from Japan - - Same spring sets front and rear, fully rebuldable by the owner ( no need to send back to the factory or special tools to change out the damper body ) and both ends have the same free length... Cost of springs is approx. 100 usd per set (2) and because the Legacy dampers come with 7kg front and 6kg rear spring rates with the same free length of 200mm ( front and rear springs fully interchangeable as oppose to the 4th gen cars that are 200 & 180mm free length frt / rr hence non-interchangable ) - purchasing 1 set of 8kg or 5kg springs gives me a softer or harder option for just 100usd... Replacement damper cartridges are also about 150 usd per corner... ( current full list price is 15,000円 ) I was quite lucky to be able to purchase a set from the first "sales promotion" run for 1/2 price at 84,000円 - On top of that - due to a promotion campaign I relieved a additional set of 2 springs for free ( I ordered 8kg so I can go a bit stiffer if I want ) If you are going to order all the way from Japan you might as well get what is current tech.... You can google your own translation... http://www.blitz.co.jp/products/suspension/damper_zz-r.html The new street dampers from Tein have many of the same features such as being rebuildable... Cheers,
  22. It also defaults to an 8 speed AT and will not run in CVT when in S# engine mode... It will actually shift up and down between gears in D - so even on deceleration it shifts down automatically... When in Si or S modes it is a 6 speed in Manual shift & CVT in D... I have just finished my 2nd tank of gas and it is full-on winter here in Hokkaido but I can tell you that - so far - it's not that kind on fuel around the city, even in Si mode...
  23. I installed hi-beam & fog light HID kits in my '13 LTW but removed them after about 48 hours - our housings simply don't adequately focus the beams ( hi & fog ) from HID bulbs and although the lights were EXTREMELY bright I thought that the amount of light that they SPRAYED around was being pretty inconsiderate to other drivers and the hi-beams just take too long to cycle up... Perhaps for those of you in the States that do a lot of long hi-way runs at night on empty highways HID hi-beams are useful - but here in Japan I usually only use my hi-beams for VERY short periods or to indicate I am passing... Instead I went with 11w LED bulbs ( 9005 / HB3 hi-beams & H16 fogs ) and am much more pleased - - lovely white light @ 6500k and - although not as bright as HIDs - the fogs are quite a bit kinder to oncoming drivers... Golden Rule........ just saying.....
