Parts from other models/years that fit our 5th gen.
marcin93 replied to tt6's topic in Fifth Generation Legacy (2010 - 2014 )
Anybody know if a 4th gen intake box would fit a 5th gen? Found this and it looks very similar to the intake box found on jdmparts here... If anyone knows please share! -

Sorry if this is a personal question but whats the estimated cost of such a powder coat job? Did you do it through wheel warehouse? I ask bc i tried to get a quote on almost the same wheel and paintjob and the price left me in shock...Dope ride tho!! -

Was wondering if anyone tried anything near 19x9.5 et22. I feel that with such an offset would poke way too much. Opinions? -

Im getting a lot of questions asking if my tein lowering springs from my 5th gen will fit a 4th gen (05). I just wanted to make sure that these do NOT fit for my state of mind. Thanks. -

How do you still have so much wheel gap...? -
***Edit: Ok so I looked into Halogen projectors vs true HID-specific projectors and I guess I enriched myself with some useful knowledge about glare from improper HID plug and play applications. It can be a serious road hazard. But I do feel as though mine arent that bad (refer to my pictures in previous page)...I will keep reading up on it and posting updates if possible. But so far I have found a legacy-specific retrofit application (isnt life just easy sometimes when you actually do some research) which is pricey but the way to go. I will look into the adaptability of this retrofit in the Anzo's.

I dont understand what you guys are complaining about. First off, TRUE quality HID retro fits cost about the same as these headlight housings.....What are you expecting for $500? Second, I honestly do not care...the output is a lot better compared to the output before....stock halogens are absolute crap, I had to have my fog lights on all the time in iffy situations. Now I only turn them on when I feel like it.

That is what I did! Brought two mufflers and he did the rest. Paid $150 for the install and $150 for some mufflers that were sold here a while back. Sounds much nicer now im just about to do a resonator delete to make it a tad louder and enhance teh rice

Yes, my lights are HID. They came with ballasts and they are HID bulbs. Although they do seem like fairly generic brands I believe the housing are a bit different to accommodate the HIDs. My right light is lightly flickering and I only notice it when the car is not moving and I watch the light output. I might just bring these to a pro to have them adjusted and looked at. I plan on upgrading to better quality sets in the future tho.

Ok here we are, some iphone shots. To the HID pros, please tell me what you think. These are supposed to be the 6k HID's (which said 12k on the box~called and said that they sometimes just use the wrong box...idk how i feel about that). Either way the color is almost teal and im not sure how I feel about it. Im certain better ballasts will make a world of a difference but as for now I am trying to fix the flickering problem.

I will try to get some pictures up soon but the cutoff is great...especially compared stock. It seems a bit low but because when I was driving around winding roads I barely saw anything when going say down a valley because the cutoff prevented me from see whats up the oncoming hill. I guess that can be adjusted but then again I never had HID's before so for me its a huge difference. The warning canceler is essentially a capacitor that is supposed to prevent flickering (Yes, buy it) which seems to be faulty in my right headlight.
-
Well I installed mine about two weeks ago with HID's. They had the connector and two wires for the ballasts(HID's). I dont believe there is any possibility of connecting wrong. Are these from anzo directly?
-
Thats strange. Mine work even after disabling the DRL (Unplugging the connectors near driver side bumper) so now its just the Ubars whenever i have DRL on or low/high beam
-
Noob question...can somebody show me where the resonator is in our cars? Planning on doing a delete.

Official 5th Generation Suspension Thread
marcin93 replied to DeltaSniper's topic in Fifth Generation Legacy (2010 - 2014 )
So essentially swifts do not destroy the stock struts AS fast as say tein's....because they are about .2" higher? Im thinking i might be better off just getting coils considering CT's weather leaves the roads looking like a post-war mine field that has gone off....Unless you have better "baller-on-a- budget" option for me?? -

What makes those different that they do not destroy stock struts? -

Noob to suspension concepts here but from what I read in this forum buying springs to lower my car is a BAD idea on stock struts....So basically the most efficient way (on my pocket) is to simply grab some coils (say tein's) and call it a day? -

Love your ride height man!! Link to these springs? I was only able to find the impreza ones...assuming you used those lol. Btw what front lip is that, really like the gloss finish! -
6K ricer? I think 8k starts getting rice-y. What consumes more power btw? I have a very powerful 2500watt amp that drains my voltage quite a bit...

Just found this site, finally about to pull the trigger on the black anzo's, just trying to decide betweek 6k and 8k.... http://www.protuninglab.com/outback.html
