  1. Thanks brother I went with the 3mm gaskets. After some further research that's what was recomended
  2. First time buyer for Michelin X Ice. After reading the reviews they sound like the best for the price when here in Philly we will get only 3 months of bad weather.
  3. I have an 05 GT. Im ready to buy the "top feed" IAG TGV replacements knowing that the "Side Feed" are an issue later down the road with tuning. Question is the Phenolic Spacer set with the Nitrile Gaskets... Am I getting the 3mm or 8mm? I am bolting on a Blouch 440 XT with a GS TMIC...Thanks
  4. Ok cool..I had Tein H Techs on my older wagon and they were great. Also had paranoid fabrication 3/4" saggy butt spacers and the car sat level. I don't tow or haul stuff so that 3/4" will work. I will go for the KTA124 the money is not an issue but I want it all done at once so its over. Still about the same price as a decent set of BC Coil overs if you add up the KYB's H Techs and KTA 124 kit. But this is a daily driver that will see winter so coils are going to rust and seize over time. Pretty sure this LGT KYB set up is best for what im looking to do with the car. Thanks...
  5. So it sounds like I will go with the 05-09 LGT KYB's and eitherTein H Tech H&R or Swift. Now for the spacers 3/4 or 1" to prevent the "Saggy Butt"? Will I need the whiteline rear camber/control arm (kit KTA124) or is that just for guys dropping their Outback's to the ground against their cars natural height with coil overs or is that for shock/strut lowering too? Thanks
  6. So you did lower it and which KYB's did you decide to go with the LGT or Outback specific?
  7. Question about KYB's with Tein H Tech or H&R's on an 06 Outback: Im reading that the KYB's for 00-04 Outbacks are a little stiffer than the 05-09's so some guys go with the 00-04 either all the way around or just in the rear on the 05-09 Outback. But im looking to lower my Outback so it seems like the 05-09 Legacy GT KYB's are what I need to apply but not sure that there wont be any other rear suspension mods involved to keep the camber and toe in tact without buying the Whiteline kit. Not interested in coil overs since its a daily driver and winters here in Pennsylvania will destroy them over time. Im almost positive that rear saggy but spacers will be needed either 3/4 or 1" but thats why I am running this topic buy you guys who have dropped Outbacks. Thanks....
  8. Can you elaborate on you suspension set up please....
  9. Looks like there are two ways to go on my 06 OB to lower it. Either struts/springs or Coil overs. It's my DD so its going to see winter weather here in Pennsylvania. The question is can I throw a set of KYB's and Tein or H&R's on it with some saggy but spacers and be done with it. Or if I grab a set of the BC Coil's specific for the OB will that be a better application? Where I am going with this question is is it a plug and play or from reading on here is the Upper Control Arm need to be addressed? I understand the bump stops must be remover because of their height and replaced with LGT wagon versions. I really don't want to get into too much. I just went through a full suspension replacement on my 05 LGT with Whiteline and Fortune 500's including new aluminum LCA. I am not looking for slammed either just an inch or more of wheel gap would be preferred.. Thanks
  10. 2006 Outback 2.5 Manual all blue no two tone BS. 135.000k lowered on LGT wagon Swift springs and KYB Excel-G's along with front and rear Whiteline adjustable away bars. Wish I could get the photos to upload on here SO FRUSTRATING!!
  11. Sorry for the late reply but I wound up buying a mesh grille so the Hella's would clear the grille. It looks fantastic but now im interested in finding a Subaru emblem that will attach to the mesh grille that's made for it. Any idea's? Thanks.......
  12. I bought the Grim Speed Hella horn bracket that is a universal piece for all Subies. I mounted it on my LGT and I went to install my horns on the bracket and no matter where I place the horns in the slots the horns are pressed up right against the back of the grill. I can't bend the bracket backwards because then the wiring hits the radiator. Looks like I don't have a choice but to buy an aftermarket grille that will make room for the Hellas.
  13. Sounds like from reading that even the sedans need the "saggy butt" spacers regardless of which springs you put on.
  14. But with the KYB Excel-G's and Swift Springs on a sedan do you need the "Saggy Butt" spacers? I know you did on your wagon....
  15. For a 05 LGT sedan what lowering spring is the best matched with KYB Excel-G's then?
  16. Thanks for your detailed reply on this. I understand that the KYB Excel-G are a slight upgrade from the base KYB "white gas adjust" that are a basic replacement for most cars. I am interested in about an inch drop in a spring application that would eliminate some body roll and help in the cornering and wallowing that the car has now. The squatting at hard acceleration is also an issue but then again these are the OEM struts and shocks with 103.000 on them. I am looking for the same type performance I am getting out of my 95 BK that is a great all around ride with a lowered stance and gets tight when I crank on the wheel while cornering. That application is KYB GR-2's and Tein H-Tech's along with a Primitive Racing upper strut sway bar on that car which is my daily driver. So im really not interested in dealing with the Koni insert hassle or the top hat issues with the Bilstein or the prices. By the time it is all said and done with either the Koni or Bilstein including the springs you could have bought a set of entry level Coil Overs. So I really would like to use the KYB Excel-G's but use an aftermarket lowering spring that is not too aggressive to take away from the suspension travel or give you bump stop issues either. I also have plans in adding the upper strut sway bar and a front and rear sway bar in time after this strut shock and spring addition has been addressed. This 05 LGT is not my daily driver so im being patient with these mods and reading and trying to mod it little by little to enjoy it over time. One more question...The 01-04 KYB Excel-G's for the fronts are they for a LGT or a standard Legacy or it doesn't matter? And also you have a wagon and not a sedan? And where did that application come from on the forum because I did not catch that through my readings on here. thanks again for your reply...
  17. Seems like the KYB Excel-G's are the best for a daily driver. The problem that I am finding is the Struts/Shocks either Bilstein Koni or the KYB need to be matched with the appropriate lowering spring to get the correct suspension set up for spirited daily driving. Since I am interested in the KYB Excel-G's it would figure that the best match for them was the Eibach Pro-Kit or the Epic Springs or ION Springs and they are discontinued or not available. The only lowering springs available are Rallitech (which are made by Swift) Tein S-Tech or H-Tech's and H & R's. From what im reading is the S-Tech are garbage and are too low and don't offer any travel so it would be a bump stop nightmare. And the H-Tech's could possibly give your sedan a "saggy but". So now im at the decision with either H & R's or the Rallitech/Swift's. Would like to hear from some KYB Excel-G owners and which springs to choose from those two I mentioned for their LGT Sedan since the options are slim at this point in the game for a 11 year old car.

  21. Have: RBP With A Wing (De-badged but have the Subaru Emblem) Want: RBP Without A Wing Location: Philly But Willing To Meet In The TRi-State Area.
  22. I like my 05 as well. I hate the rear bumpers with the reflectors on the newer models. I just hate my rear wing because it looks like it came off of a Maxxima. I just wish we could have the rear JDM wiper. They look so bad ass and probably are functional as hell.
  23. How many times do us Pa. residence call the 1 800 fix pothole line and months go by and nothing changes. One road near me was so busy and dangerous from people avoiding a crater I saw the homeowner who lived in front of it come out with a wheelbarrel and fill it with rocks.
  24. 269.000 No leaks second timing belt and clutch. Runs like a champ never lets me down and its my Daily Driver.
