  1. That's not a good assumption on the brake pads. I ran Hawk HPS all around, will this time too. BOXRPWR runs RB's kit with HPS all around also.
  2. You could be right. However, in my case, I am interested in the bias more than the mu. The mu is held at a constant number throughout all the data provided in the first post. To those that do not understand, obviously not you Joel, that means that if you want to preserve that balance, when getting aftermarket pads, you must get the same kind for the front AND rear.
  3. Well Joel, I see your point, and you make an interesting argument. I suspect a little bit of everything comes into play for the real answer. However, the case might actually be correct at higher temperatures where the stock pad is out of its effectiveness range and the track pad is right in the sweet spot.
  4. Most likely because the dynamic aspect doesn't come into play until its ABS time. Its better if the EBD has to play less or barely any at all. The effects of an improper setup can be felt before the ABS hits.
  5. ROTORA Front 2-piece 6-piston kit # of Pistons = 6 Type of Caliper = radial mount Piston Size = 30.23/34.93/40.45mm Rotor Diameter = 355mm
  6. ANSWERS... ROTORA: Front 330mm 1-piece kit # of Pistons = 4 Type of Caliper = radial mount Piston Size = 38.18/42.85mm Rotor Diameter = 330 mm Rear 2-piston 1-piece # of Pistons = 2 Type of Caliper = radial mount Piston Size = 40.45/40.45mm Rotor Diameter = 290mm 2 Piece Kit Front 2-piece kit # of Pistons = 4 Type of Caliper = radial mount Piston Size = 38.18/42.85 Rotor Diameter = 330 mm Rear 4-piston 2-piece # of Pistons = 4 Type of Caliper = radial mount Piston Size = 30.23/30.23mm Rotor Diameter = 330mm Looks like the 2-piece rear is most likely designed to work with the 6-piston front kit. So I just replied to him and asked for THOSE specs..
  7. Si. I suppose you can see it that way. Basically most of the difference with BBKs involve brake feel/modulation/heat management/consistency. I wouldn't necesarily expect a lower braking distance when using a BBK. I would look out for consistency under harsh conditions, and good brake modulation. I feel that anyone who plans to keep using their LGT for the street and auto-x only doesn't really have to look into a BBK.
  8. No, Rotora's setup comes with street pads. You can opt to change to more aggressive pads, which I am getting ready to do. My rear setup is still just like OEM. That being said, I posted on the Rotora thread regarding the pad size in case anyone wants to run different types of pads. I'm thinking about biting the bullet for the rear set. I think I will wait for captain to tell us the sizes so that we can calculate the bias before I bite the bullet. I got a GREAT offer. Armed with that, I can then make a better decision on which pads I want to use. Maybe I will run something like Hawk HPS up front and HP+ in the rear.
  9. Worst case, I can make a sacrifise and pull mine to measure. Do you want me to measure the O.D. of the pistons? (I have a set of measuring calipers in my toolbox.)
  10. I emailed my contact at Rotora. Here's a copy of it
  11. jazzymt, I gotta give it up for you man, I installed it tonight... your directions were PERFECT. Incredible detail. Hooked this up, coupled with my iPod cable (turns a dock cable to RCA and power). The sound is pretty much CD like. What a bargain this setup is.
  12. sure. Its just a pair of RCA cables when you are done.
  13. Well, I haven't started yet. However, my hat goes off to you for incredible craftsmanship and awesome directions.
  14. IMO, the improvement should be considerable... I used the Monster setup on my car for a few days, and it sucks, the audio quality fluctuates a lot and sometimes its hard to get a clean status. However, I live in SoCal so it might be exacerbated here.
  15. any way to order this stuff?? Only that actual page seems to work. All other pages do not work, so you cannot order or call.
