what are the signs of that?

I assume you mean center differential transfer drive and driven gears? This is associated with a whine at 35-40+ mph and some weird whirring sounds when at low speed. The differential itself is typically not damaged.
It's $133 in parts from Heuberger. Repair is a two day operation since you have to wait for fujibond to cure.
nasioc has a thread here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2071286. Part numbers in that thread are correct for the LGT (the parts system will supersede them properly)
I did my own and saved $600+ even with buying a shop press and bearing puller/separator. It is definitely a DIY job.
The bearings that go bad have been through one or two revisions in part number since originally made, so they might last a lot longer.
Mine were bad at 74k (from understanding that the noise wasn't actually normal , I also bought the car like that). I replaced at 103k when it started getting louder.
i guess i'll just ride out mine till it dies. my transmission just endured a bad launch, so i'm expecting the worst

"If you wait to do everything until you're sure it's right, you'll probably never do much of anything"
ooh!! that's a good one

I like a phone to be a phone and nothing else.
i felt the same way until my computer became so slow its useless... and stationary, my ipod can't hold much charge, i don't have a camera/video device, and i have an available upgrade (coming from an LG flip phone)
it's convenient
-
i'm calling it on the track. i'm forgetting why i bought a legacy in the first place... to not race, and to last a long time. i'm not trending on a good path so far in the short time of owning my lgt

According to some people on these forums, you can't break 1.8 unless you're mario andretti.
you just gave me a challenge lol
-
ffs isn't much help. i run the same times without it and i think it just burns the clutch up. it might be tough to break 1.8 with all-seasons, but that will be the key to pro times.

with launch control? theres a trick to it that i learned over the weekend, but i'm saving it for when a tune comes into play

only mods are: Invidia Catless dp, spt short ram (more of a downgrade) and Cobb Accessport running the 93octane stg2 map.

fix dat 60ft son. you wont believe how much time is lost from a bad launch.
-
oh damn! nice run. sorry for under estimating your time.
-
i'm guessing the one on the left
-
stock intake.... and a borla cbe. looking to buy either within the next two weeks.
-
ok then, does anybody have a stock intake? i'm asking here because i prefer local. there's one at the marketplace, but it's missing peices and it would have to be shipped.
-
uhh, not sure. i had no clue there was a difference. any of which that is better than a stock lgt tmic.
-
lol for an aftermarket one if you have one. ie and avo or even an sti top mount. if not, then forget i asked
-
i also have stock muffler too. both which are still on the car (intercooler and mufflers)
-
Looking to buy: stock TMICs in good shape and possibly a set of OEM mufflers with flanges that are in good shape (should've just kept the ones I sold to fulton!).
if you could trade me for a tmic then you can have my stock one
-
lol the accessport is NOT accurate.
-
what would you usually hit for your 60 foot? and whats your best?
-
lol yea, i'm keeping the launching to a minimum. i don't know if an aftermarket warranty will cover a launched tranny.
-
i just (last night, last run) banged out a 1.8 60' and took it home with a 13.5!! crushed them sti's again lol. i think i'm getting the hang of this launching thing a bit better now. how high should i rev it?
-
$25 is equal to a good meal or two and i love good food
-
actually, $197 lol. i usually buy new and get ripped off. for example, does a 13.5 sound better than a 13.6? yes. that little difference makes it that much better. i'd pay 225, but i already bought one
