  1. Just found a better pic with the Blitzen alloys and STi Brembos... 10mm spacer - proper ones with extended bolts - not just 10mm shim
  2. If you like a nice Blitzen - this is the nicest I've ever seen... A very sad story to it though. He had just finished restoring and updating it - on the way to get the tune up done it got written off by a taxi that completely totaled the front end - He now drives a VW Golf EV... - something replaceable...
  3. I put some Continental TKC80 tires on my CB500X - looks a lot more like an 'adventure bike' now
  4. I run mine with spacers for winters on my JDM Leggy GT2.0 spec.B
  5. A mate did mine and took a wheel in to the paint shop for matching... They are marginally darker I think - but I am happy with them
  6. Nova Scotia - 2013 Honda CB500X - great bike for the locality - needs more off-road based tires though - next change on the agenda
  7. Looking at getting a vehicle in Nova Scotia - interested in 'anything interesting' ideally a pickup V8 with huge power... but failing that I am familiar with Scoobies - I came across a 2008 Outback XT which may do the job... Any advice? https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1599307511 Many thanks Mick
  8. Have you removed any parts yet? I am interested in this amazing beast - but would need delivery to Nova Scotia? I miss my JDM wagon languishing back in the UK...
  9. My JDM 2004 has a full Milltek system with sports cat on it - and it is verging on too loud for quiet suburbia... - but I love the sound... http://www.youtu.be/vwctyptijzc
  10. How many days did you take for the drive? - sounds interesting... I have just discovered a friend is now living in BC! LOL - so a trip may be a possibility...
  11. Looks like you have done it before... so what is the price of shipping from one coast to the other approximately?
  12. 2 great snowy days We had just got our winter tires done the week before so all set Now of course the temperatures are back to the mid-teens (°C) during the day Hey-ho whatchagonnado....
  13. Here she is - in the first snow of the season
  14. I am using an old Galaxy S7 which does support wireless charging - I couldn't say whether it will work with the VAG-Com cable though... - I am using it in my 2021 Crosstrek to run Android Auto via Hot spot from my main phone... probably to no benefit and a bit of unnecessary hassle - but I wanted to see if it would work LOL AND don't really use phone much for phone stuff when driving - just wanted maps working without paying a premium for OEM Sat NAT system!
  15. The reviews on that page are hilarious
  16. I did a lot of work with Jaguar Land Rover engines - they had what they called a BISG unit... Belt Integrated Starter Generator... This unit was able to carry over an engine rotation if it got to the point that the engine had basically stopped - but then the driver had requested power. Instead of the engine going to a full stop and then restarting the BISG would boost the engine rotation rather than needing to use the starter motor - apparently they even got a little 'hybrid' eco credit for this development LOL Also the valve train was hydraulically operated and would leave the valves open when the engine was NOT running for less resistance to initial turn over. Once the engine started rotating oil pressure goes up and valves operate normally....
  17. I have just got a 2021 Crosstrek with auto stop/start. I expected to hate it - but with city driving style I really hardy notice it now. It was a surprise the first few times it happened - but foot gently off the brake, engine starts and by the time your foot is moved over to the accelerator pedal the engine is running smoothly. My issue is that as an automotive test engineer I have been involved in some very detailed test work for a car battery supplier versus a car manufacturer over 'stop/start' systems with the problem being battery failures. Battery manufacturer saying battery has not been specced high enough by OEM and possibly the battery charging algorithm is not optimised - and vehicle manufacturer saying batteries are not good enough... Also just to clarify - I do not believe in man made catastrophic global warming CO2 is plant food and most places I have lived could do with being a few degrees warmer - if it ever comes
