  1. Toys: they're all just money-pits of varying sizes and flavors...
  2. ^^^...or you could buy the 575 I'm selling to make room:).
  3. Wife will be wanting to kill me in ...3...2...1. Should have it by Friday, pics to follow.
  4. Inching a bit closer to pulling the trigger on a '13 SB66. Anyone have any time on its competitors?
  5. Shimano SPD's are pretty much the go-to around here, although there has been quite the trend back to platforms + tacky shoes. I guess it's all part of the 6" trail bike/enduro thing driving the sport right now.
  6. Impressive in a slightly different manner... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAx8bIi7kDQ]Drew Bezanson vs Joyride 150 - YouTube[/ame]
  7. Looking to replace my '10 575. SB-66 or Transition Covert or ... other? 27.5 Altitude? Stumpy Evo? Any feedback on these rides and others greatly appreciated. I've ridden the SB and the Tranny, but only for a mile or two each. Thanks in advance.
  8. Wow. Well, yeah, sounds like you might benefit from a beefier cassette. Your riding will improve, however, if you take the mech's advice and pre-shift. If you poke around, you'll see that the xtr's are pretty darn light, and a few of the sram's are a bit heavier. Neither are cheap. Not sure which cassette your mech is recommending, but it's pretty much impossible to stay on top of the shimano vs sram debate year in and year out. At least for a mere mortal such as myself. One year it's all about sram... the next it sucks donkey balls. I will say, unequivocally, that shimano's brakes the last year or two have been killing it.
  9. ^^^Probably not, though I am curious as to how this keeps happening.
  10. ^^^What's worse: too free or inadvertent fixie? Glad you guys made it back all right. Sounds like he owes you a beer or three.
  11. ^^^Been to Crested Butte a few times to ride, haven't been to Gunnison, at least not to ride. I really dig Salida + the Monarch Crest as well. You make it out this way often?
  12. ^^^Yeah, had a buddy blow up his rear-end last week about 6 miles from the car. Chain, hanger, derail, ten or so spokes. Got a ss rigged up, but the chain kept bucking as the rear suspension sucked up the downhill. He basically had to Fred Flinstone a few miles of gnar. No fun...for him, of course! Lesson learned.
  13. ^^^Learned that one the hard way. A hangar is definitely something to carry in the pack! Power-link too.

    Quotes???

So...owning a gun is like being gay? Dems in CO are really shooting themselves in the foot lately. Christ almighty.
  15. While my 5mt shifts into second just fine, my tranny is definitely not happy in second gear unless I'm accelerating. Any coasting in second produces a sound a few notches below a grinding noise, and the car gets acts like it wants to lurch/stall. That said, it holds in second just fine, performs under acceleration just fine, produces no smells, etc. The noise has me wondering how long I have before something goes, and whether or not I need to get it into a tranny specialist sooner rather than later. Any thoughts? And yes, I've tried the search function:).
  16. ^^^Nice, thanks. Quote request sent.
  17. Any northern metro area tint installers you guys recommend? I know, I know: search function. Looking for something current. And cheap(ish).
