  1. Saw a dark grey 5th gen (looked lowered but it might have just been all that weight loading the springs) at the woods mobil in east providence this afternoon. You didn't notice me when you drove past and pulled up a couple pumps over from me..(it's ok, my car is so much smaller than yours, I imagine you're not used to noticing cars this size). Pretty sure you noticed me when I started up tho...
  2. Not often, but it is nice. There are a couple events/shows going on there. Maybe Ill see you around.

Shoot me a pm next time there's something going on over there.. I don't have the LGT out much, typically I drive my '13 passat TDI(burgundy), but it's a DGM '07, debadged&DRL delete, otherwise looks stock..

  3. Never really gone down there a whole lot, but I'm always around seekonk for work or other things. haha. My car is always parked as close to the road in front of the office building. Quite a few people have spotted it lately. :)

Gotcha. Well, I'll be on the look out. If you get beeped&waved at by a dude in a burgundy passat, that's me in my daily. :) FYI, since you're around seekonk a lot, dynotech tuning is having a dyno day this sat. Its $50 for 2pulls. I just signed up for the 10am slot, so I'll be there w/the LGT :)

  4. I'm in northern RI - north smithfield/burrillville area - Im always driving all over the place to smithfield, woonsocket, seekonk MA, warwick RI, and other misc places.. I've put 5k miles on in the past 4.5/5 weeks.

You can recognize me by the car , the windshield decals (which I may be getting rid of the majority of them), and the plush smiley face stuffed thing I have in the rear window. haha

Ever head down to newport/around the island? I often take my LGT out for a jaunt down that way on the weekends.. That said, I live in Bristol and usually go to rt6/seekonk once a week, so I'll have to keep my eye out for you.

  5. There was the sickest old diesel Jetta there on Saturday, every time he powered out of the bends he was followed by a plume of thick black smoke. That thing was SWEET!

We had an SC430 in our group... huge variety of cars!

Hahaha, yeah, I've heard of some crazy modded vw diesel's out there, even one TDI jetta running 11's.

I'd have to autocross mine bone stock for the sheer humor of it- it's bigger than a 5th gen (though curb weight is actually like 20 lbs less), and the tires are some casual continental touring tires that really don't grip much. I'd just throw the DSG in 'S' and try to get it thru the turns

Actually, it might not be too bad with, at the least, some grippy tires, considering it's got 236lbft@1750rpm.

  6. Never before has anyone looked so terrified at a starting line. I got him to send me those so I'm very happy! The pictures of your car came out great too.

There are 2 sets of photos I've found for anyone who's itching to get their driver on:

I should autocross the Passat some time. Diesel power FTW!! I'd have the slowest(and biggest/heaviest) car out there, but I bet I'd get the best fuel economy!

  7. i would say that is me except for the MA plates, and my wheels are a matte gray / dirty (non-stock). live right up the street from coastal roasters.

Surprised I haven't seen you around then! I live over in Bristol, I love taking the LGT for rides out thru tiverton, lil compton, etc. Sadly, it's a driveway ornament at the moment, and will have to stay that way for the next couple weeks unless I feel like getting out there after work.. :(
