  1. i used the stock sti 6-sp linkage.. it does get kind of close to the ash-tray, but wasnt enough of a bother to do anything about it.
  2. i can CONFIRM that this works. 2005 2.5i 4EAT propshaft. works great
  3. groff, if it's a 2004 it is STUBBED, you will need to order 05+ Sti or legacy front axle seals. the NSS off your current transmission will transfer right over, as will the reverse sensor. you cannot use the R180 rear diff, without 07+ Spec.B axles.. ( i have NOT confirmed even if they fit.) until you can get either the conversion (R160 outer -> r180 inner) or the spec b axels, you will have to find a 3.90 rear diff.. i got a non-lsd one out of a 2004 legacy. if you want a VLSD, you will have to get a re-geared WRX unit, or re-gear your current one. -Z0rr0
  4. groff... you won't need the front axels. yours will work.. if it's a 2004, you pull the stubs out of the 6MT, and put a new set of 05+ axle seals in it. if it's an 06, you can just use your axels straight up. you WILL have to change the rear diff, and again, you will use your axels. to complete this swap, youll need: 6MT tranny flywheel 6mt shift linkage clutch clutch fork / slave cyl. 2005+ 2.5i auto driveshaft 3.90 / 3.545?? rear diff.. (i got mine out of an 04 legacy non-lsd ) i have had this swap in my car for about 10k and 4 months, over 370whp.. i destroyed 1 rear diff playing in the gravel when i hit dry pavement, BOOM.. lol just upgraded to a 35R so we'll see. PS. if you want i can PM you my number, and we can talk in detail about my tirals and tribulations.. mike did it for me.. i'll do it for you WELCOME to the 6MT SWAP CLUB, this list is short
  5. Mike, thanks for your help with my swap groff, you can use a 2005-2006 2.5i AUTO propshaft, it will work perfectly. I picked one up and am using in daily driving my 04 STi 6MT. $85. The axles will fit into the 04 Sti tranny, you just have to order new seals for when you take the stub shafts out. the male axels that the LGT uses, has a larger diameter at the transmission seal, so you must order 05 STI or LGT axle seals.. either one will fit.
