I looked into EFI they wanted $7000 to do my engine not even my heads lol

iw as just going to order all the parts and have my local Subaru dealership do it they quoted me what i just put up lol.

  3. Don't forget that the OEM pistons are notorious for cracking the #4 ringlands. I will bet for the same $ as buying a new/reman shortblock you could have your stock block torn down, new bearings, and crank put in along with forged pistons.

    So $1800+shipping $550+ heads refreshed $750=$3100 + 12 hours of labor at $89/hr $4,168.00 rough estimate.

Please hit me with best shot. Im actually interested in this cause i do want a new motor basically. Looking for cheapest but best way to do it.

  4. I don't understand why folks feel they need to buy a new hunk of metal. The block of a LGT is the same block as the STi motor. I feel it is a waste of good $ to put it toward another block (which is a re-furbished block to begin with as they don't sell "new" blocks).

Cause if i buy a new(or not)Ej257 i can already have the pistons, i don't need to get it honed and cleaned out and measured so that i can order the new pistons, and also the bearing will be new. i Don't have to mess with those and the rods well they are all basically same rods.

  5. If you cant read more than ten pages, then you have attention issues. Keep reading or get a friend to read it to you. The cost will depend on what you pay for the parts. It will also depend on WHAT parts you will need - I.E. - Does the transmission you are buying come with a clutch? Do you want a factory or aftermarket clutch? Does the transmission come with a shifter linkage? Does it come with a slave cylinder? Are you paying someone to install the transmission? etc.

It's not attention issue it's more of I read about 200 pages of text book information every 3 days for my bio environmental chemistry and political science classes that I just don't wanna read anymore. And usually everyone is pretty helpful when comes to this....
