Anyone have the subset of pics which show the changes between the 2013 and 2012 vacations? I have the ones which show how much better '12 was than the '11 vacation, but those highlights are missing from the '13 pics I have seen...

they are all silver unless you get the special appearance package, then they are black like the Legacy

It has STi stamped on the bottom cover as well as on the baseplate, so I think even Subaru calls it the STi short shifter.I know a few vendors call it the STi shifter -
As far as I know, the only option is the STi short throw (there were a couple of posts about folks trying to make them, but nothing has come of them)I don't think I saw a response for which short-shift throws working for 2010-2012 LGT's. Any info on this? -
Could be a typo but cars101.com shows a 215 for 2012 and a 225 for 2013.
Subaru brochures for 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 all list the size as 225/50R17 for the 3.6R, so I am guessing a typo.
the previous generation 3.0R had 215/45R17.

So how do you secure the gauge in that pod - is it just that foam pad looking thing? Looks like you got the 60mm? Is that a defi blue-racer gauge? can't wait to see pics! (well... maybe I can since if it looks good, I'll almost certainly be going that route...)
-
Looks great! I have been waiting to do mine (have the flaps and the adh. promoter/primer/paint/clear from paintscratch.com waiting to go on - just haven't had the time!)Am I the first one who paint OEM mudflaps here guys? -
^ touchy touchy...need to change out your manpon.
touchy? I was under the impression I was teasing, rather than being touchy...
I don't usually do pm's on something which might be of interest to others - I try to have the discussion more universally available since, well, this is a discussion board and all...
-
As a person who is asking questions over and over about a cup holder, it is my opinion that you would get better visibility if you post on a thread that is actually related to a cup holder.....
I have been happily answering many PMs about this mod as is.
Well, I went over to the cupholder thread, and it had a link here
- and there are far more useful pics in this thread, so I figured it's a way better place to ask questions.
PMs are great, but for a topic which is of more universal interest, I think it serves the board better to have information posted back where everyone can see it.
-
But there's more info about the cupholder here than over there... actually, if people are talking about it (it is an open forum, after all) then it quite clearly IS about the cupholder - as far as I can tell, someone who drives an ice silver metallic legacy sedan posted a pic of something they did inside the sedan (I'm trying to remember who that was... oh wait - it was you!) and people are asking questions about it. Heck - my car's ice silver metallic, too, and I'm talking about making mods so it's mods in an ice silver metallic car - doesn't that count for something? can't that be in here? This thread is NOT about JDM cup holder. I have already started one on that subject. Please post all of your cup holder related questions there and only post regarding Ice Silver Metallic on this thread. So another topic which came up in here is the cover for the pocket by the radio - you didn't get all wound up about that for some reason - and it's not even clear if his car is ice silver metallic!
perhaps if you want this to be your own personal thread all about you, you should put that in the thread title, rather than calling the title "2012 ice silver metallic" - there are examples of that all over the board...
I realize that it's odd to have a discussion going on in a discussion board, but hey, sometimes it happens. You should be happy - your "look at me" thread is getting noticed!
as an aside, I find it even funnier that the person who thanked you for posting that they we shouldn't post our cupholder questions here also thanked the person who linked to this thread from the cupholder thread

Could someone who purchased the "silver without lend" please post a pic of their cupholder open - I am trying to see if it looks like this one (with the lens):

or if it looks like this one, with a gap at the round edge (which is similar to the OEM one)

-
Well - just pulled the trigger - ordered the "with lens" - I am hoping that is what is pictured above (they have another pic on the japanparts side for the LED ashtray which shows what I think is one without the lens, where it has a gap there instead of the lens... we shall see, i guess...
-
I wish I could find a pic of what the lens looks like - it's probably just a ring around the outside edge, but I'd rather know than guess...
-
Thanks for the info - I got another email this morning from japanparts and they realized what the problem was - they have a typo on their website - it should read "silver with lens" and "silver without lens" - I am guessing that's for if you have the interior illumination kit. so "silver without lens" it is!

So another quick question - which color did you purchase - they have two different silvers - for the cupholder there is "silver with lend" and "silver without lend" - which one do we need? (I have no idea what "lend" means for the color) - I asked japanparts and they said they didn't have pics to compare, so they weren't sure...

Thinking of pulling the trigger on this, but the japanparts website says the cupholders are smaller than the USDM ones - can you measure the size vs. the standard ones? (I am guessing they work with pretty much anything other than the huuuuuge cups, but want to find out before ordering, rather than after!)

If you're already having issues scraping with the stock suspension you may want to slow down.
Then again, what? Try not to be a pinhead - I'm not bottoming out the suspension on a bump - How does speed have anything at all to do with a slope which scrapes the bottom of the bumper before the front wheels are even there? Once the wheels meet the slope, the front comes up and it's clear. Dropping the front another inch would be bad.
-
Well, there are a number of places I drive where the entrance to the parking area is very steep - I've already scraped the bottom of the bumper once, and would care not to do it again - taking an inch away from my road clearance would be bad news... (also don't want to have to take extraordinary measures to prevent scraping on things)
-
So are there any springs which have a higher spring rate than OEM, but don't lower the vehicle? I'd love to have stiffer springs, but don't want to compromise ground clearance... most of the offerings I have seen drop the car somewhere in the neighborhood of an inch front and rear...
-
Just tried it - opened just fine for me...
-
Well, it's a 19mm rear sway bar, and it's from subaru, but it doesn't say what vehicle it's from... don't think I missed that by skimming... I was guessing an 08+ STi, but wanted to check...
-
Which rear sway did you install?19MM RSB installed
-
Any other brake components which will work - specifically, is there a master cylinder brace which works, or stainless brake lines? (I was looking on the StopTech site and saw they have a set for the 08 LGT, are the brakes similar?)

JDM cupholder - requires three parts
Cover: 92122AJ100 (silver trim part)
Boot Assy: 92123AJ000 (necessary because the corners on the JDM trim are different than USDM)
Cupholder Assy (w/lens): 92134AJ000 (the lens is in case you want to add interior illumination)
For the shift boot, I did black leather with silver stitching and a black perforated center panel.
