  1. use to live in hamilton, north bend road white oak shopping center area... i moved to bellevue kentucky tho bought a house
  2. Cincinnati Ohio here, hamilton county, green township area... Black Legacy 5EAT rocking some black motegi mr118's will have my car back with my JDM bumper installed here soon.
  3. I'm just going by the the guidelines i was given and what a-lot of people in my area believe in, am i sure its true? No i'm personally not sure about a-lot of things lol especially this trans stuff, its just a guideline i'm staying by for peace of mind... I really wish i'd of monitored my trans temp before all the mods and vb... Do i think my transmission is capable of reaching too of high temperatures without tracking it? Yes, i do like to drive like i'm tracking it of course, whats the point of all the mods i did without getting some fun? and the other day it jumped up past 220-230 suprisingly pretty easily, considering my autometer trans temp gauge only goes to 250, i'd consider that 230 is not very healthy for it...
  4. thats not necessarily what i was saying though... thats an install thread, i'm talking about a thread that pinpoints on temperatures, and setups and logs of temps and ways around it and what not... like i figured out the other day, that after my car has been driving 30 mins plus, it sticks to 170-185 while driving 35mph+ normally not beating on it, and when i simply come to a red light, i literally see it start to slowly climb, and it will climb to 190-200ish, which i have learned is a danger zone, i guess my cooler being in front of my radiator, being the first thing to be hitting that air is acting as a fan, so if i would have kept the fan on it that it came with, i'd def be over cooling... i also did not have a/c on at that time, my shop told me to try to run the a/c because it runs the fans, sure enough it actually climbed slower than not having the a/c on... i found this stuff interesting lol
  5. when you do, if you will, please pm me and alert me, like climberd said there should be a trans cooler thread, idk if there even is one.... i'm sure it'd be informative to a-lot of people like me.
  6. I could have sworn you told me that over cooling was not a good thing, and cold temperatures were not good as was too hot. And yes, i have noticed that it slams right out of my driveway, but it really only happens the first few shifts and after that its perfectly usual feeling. But thanks again!
  7. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51EUF0iddHL._SL500_AA300_.jpg this mishimoto trans cooler^^^^, it came with a fan, but i didnt mount it for 1, i got it installed in the winter, and it'd be cooling overkill, and for 2 i didnt want to have to pay for labor to get the on/off switch installed, reccomended by shop, which they said they installed for some other trans cooler installs with fans other customers got. before the radiator i believe, i am stoppin up at my local shop tomorrow, ill double check about that question i couldn't accurately answer how fast does it warm up without it, because i only had my trans temp gauge installed after the trans temp cooler being installed, why exactly do you ask how fast without it? and how necessary would it be to get that bypass? is this something of great concern?
  8. Quick question for david, or anyone who can accurately confidently answer this. Last time we spoke on the phone it was about my trans temp and gauge. I have the temp sender running in the fluid coming BACK from the mishimoto trans cooler i have, so i'm expecting it to be a little bit cooler than actual trans temp... My question is it takes a good 20 minutes of easy daily driving before i reach 150, which you said is the LEAST it should be at for the best health concern of my transmission... I have been doing a-lot of driving below 150, mainly at 120-130.... Now you told me that it being too hot is not the only thing i need to worry about, not being hot enough could also cause damage.... How concerned should i be that i'm driving like this? The good thing is, even when beating the shit out of it (which isn't frequently) it never goes above 185 and averages at 170, the combination of the trans cooler i have and the valve body is great, i wish i had the option of turning my cooler on and off so i can reach 150 easier Thanks
  9. yeah... sad to say, but its like, 2nd nature now, just like the slow shitty stocker shifts were.
  10. I paid for overnight, and he shipped it back out the day he got it, he literally got it done that fast, i was very impressed with him spending 0 time dicking around... You won't wait long, the only wait you will be waiting is shipping time through whatever service you choose, i chose fedex. Make sure your package is well put together and wont break during shipping, im sure david explained it to you, but my friends work at UPS, they dont give one shit about anyones package, they just skid packages across the floor and throw them, to my understanding the VB has some very delicate parts.
  11. So i got my dyno yesterday... 265whp, and 321 ft/lbs torque.. overall im happy but my whp was expected to be higher, tuner claimed the induction hose, and not deleting my TGU's are part of my issue, after those mods, hes confident at 300WHP... so probably when and if my trans goes, i'll rebuild or possibly do a 5mt/6mt swap, then do those, and get a dyno again. anyways... For those of you who just got your valve body, and are experiencing the hard rough shifting, hold your panties on the TCU Reset unless its really no issues for you, after about 160 miles, at 10 miles it was pretty rough 1-2, and 2-3... but at about 80 miles, it chopped it in half as far as how many times it happened, about 120 miles, it was about 25% of the time, and now at 160 miles, its very rare for it to happen... your TCU might learn as mine did... also, if you have an ATF cooler, and its cold out, and you dont let your car warm up, this will definitely occur to my knowledge. unless its bad for your transmission (the hard/rough quick shifts) then hold your horses! I cant say enough how awesome it is though now that its not rough. I mean even then it was cool, but had my nerves on edge cuz it def didnt feel good, but now with my tune, and my vb learned, its boner worthy for me... 321 ft/lbs torque feels awesome, and 265 doesnt sound like much but its def nice... its my first car this fast ive owned. keep up the great work david! your the man
  12. i know how eager you are to get ur mods up and running and tuned, but david's work is well worth the wait.... i would suggest waiting it out and keeping it off your mind, if thats even possible LOL... the stuff i heard and read about IPT is fail fail fail... plus they over charge, wouldn't you wanna save 200 bucks at the cost of not having mods?
  13. yeah your right..... what was i thinking? LOL god i can be so dumb
  14. slo motion is just gonna include it all in the price... 600 for new plugs, labor, and tune, is amazing... how can i complain? slo motion guys rock, they all have been so nice.
  15. going to get my dyno this friday at slo motion of central ohio... getting new plugs, tcu reset, and ill be taking a video, and will have a graph... will report back with all of them, and a report back on how my trans is doing
  16. great to hear man!! sounds like its running so smoothly.. wish i could say the same, this infamous tune is taking what seems be to years, but all will be well in the end... i haven't received any revisions and/or fuel cut revisions since i got my base map 2 and a half weeks ago... it almost makes me want to swallow the loss, and take my car to a dyno thats about 2 hours away i really need to get this done, i cant even see what my car has now without fuel cut revision but may i ask why you tapered your boost down 3 pounds?
  17. no, you are completely correct, the AP cannot do so... thank you very much for your time! this helped me so much!!! the only thing im still curious of is if this hard shifting is bad on my transmission because i dont think i'll be able to get to and do this for a few more days and i have some driving to do. i assume its not good for it, but how bad is it? btw your avatar is awesome! LOL
  18. i need to do both as in goto the dealership, and do the freessm? anyway you could link me to a vagcom cable so i dont buy the wrong one. i posted a wtb thread cuz my friend said it would be like 100 bucks like a dumbass. my only other and last question is, do i need the reset with the vagcom cable to be done at the same time as the dealer or can i go get the dealer in two days then do the other one later?
  19. is this hard and aggressive shifting due to valve body installation being hard on my transmission? it feels not good like the trans is over working itself, in other words should i stay away from driving it until i get this fixed as much as possible? it seems be happening less and less each drive i take though... it started out to be inevitable on low rpm's, then it turned into like 50/50 of the time, now its like 35% of the time. weird. how long was it that the 5to4 smoothed itself out? i have only put about 100 miles tops on mine, and it seems to slowly be getting better... the 1-2 slam isnt as harsch as it first was.
  20. how exactly do i go about tcu reset, can i do it with my cobb ap? damnit, i wish i had time to research more than i have time to.
  21. few quick questions not worth bothering you by phone about... when on a hill, or when giving it a good amount of gas, more so on a hill i realize on my valve body with only about 100 miles on it trying to shift, like revving up on down, trying to shift to my assumption, is this because its still learning? in fuel cut (waiting for my tuner to send me revised map for my fuel cut issue) why would it hit fuel cut like this 1. Fuel cut first try, 1st to 2nd. 2. Fuel cut 2nd try 2nd to 3rd, but NOT 1st to 2nd, 1st to 2nd shifted wonderfully and chirped on shift. 3 Fuel cut 3rd try, 2nd to 3rd Why did it not hit fuel cut try number 2 on 1st to 2nd? Am i like, on the peak of hitting fuel cut and not hitting fuel cut, and/or could this possibly be it learning trying to fix this issue? Thanks Edit: also, my only other concern, when driving slowly, like out or into a parking lot, when shifting it shifts really roughly and hard, like so hard it will slide me forward in my seat, is this part of the learning or is there an issue, sorry i dont know much let alone what to expect on whats proper.
  22. PM'd, Highly interested, and excited to put my brand new stg3 to the test!
