  1. ^^Ditto. Cool Project. Slightly jealous. I was hoping to at least see it in testing.
  2. Why must you taunt me, Grimmspeed? I had no interest in replacing my TMIC, but I followed this thread just to watch the development and see what the final product looks like. After seeing that core and the production, I'm tempted to replace mine.
  3. Thanks for the write-up. The pictures and descriptions are pretty useful. I reviewed this before attempting to replacing my 16G with another turbo. Unfortunately, I snapped off the third turbo-up bolt that sits underneath the compressor, soooo I ended up reinstalling everything (minus one bolt) so I could decide what to do
  4. I installed an HKS scoop on my OBXT. It has a slightly expanded opening. I'm sure it has negligible gains, if any, but it 'couldn't hoit'
  5. Here is what I did with my knockoff TMIC and splitter http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/scoop-splitter-pw-knockoffi-219449.html?t=219449&highlight=splitter
  6. Ordered. I haven't had any problems with my stock plastic unit, but it's good piece of mind for less than my weekly expenditure on coffee.
  7. The stock interior lights are dim and crappy. I replaced mine with these LED lights for a few dollars and they're fantastic. 8. I installed these multi-plug LED's in all of the dome lights. They're awesome. 9. so any news, progress, word? I may hold out on a Process West with possible shroud mod if this looks promising
  10. Any new reviews or longterm info on Kamak turbos?
  11. I'm glad I logged back in to find this. I have been considering a new TMIC vs. top mount AWIC for a while. I would like to keep it as simple as possible, so this is a great plan. I think a lot of folks would like this. I have had great experience with GrimmSpeed's parts as well as customer service. After saving a few bucks on various knock-off parts over the years, there is simply no dollar equivalent to a company that makes parts that ACTUALLY FIT the vehicle without many hours wasted in fitting/refitting/re-refitting. Summed up -interested in TMIC -Interested in splitter add-on/revise -Keep up the good work, GrimmSpeed.
  12. To anyone who has installed an 18G with STS, how is spool? I'm considering going from my BNR16G to the Kamak 16G or 18G. I would like a little more power, but I'm not as concerned with max power as I am with leveling out the torque curve and hopefully shifting it to the left with earlier and less-transient-time spool
  13. I'm not seeing the STS option on the Kinugawa site. Am I just missing it? If not, what is the real difference between this: http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/kinugawaturbohyundaigenesistd05h16g300ps-3-1-2.aspx and this: https://www.facebook.com/kamakturbo/app_251458316228 other than the price?
  14. After reading this thread and looking at the Kinugawa and Kamak sites, I'm little confused about the STS wheel. Are the Kamak STS wheels different than the Kinugawa or are they just branded differently? I'm considering moving from my BNR16G to an 18G for slightly more headroom for some different components and a retune. If the STS really has spool similar to a BB cartridge, I would be interested.
  15. I just ran across this thread. Pretty amazing build. I always appreciate creative automotive engineering, venturing into obscure mechanical territory, and fabrication. Having said that, if you ever decide to move onto another project and leave this project to a new home, give me a hollar. Better yet, I look forward to your mass-produced, easy-to-install conversion kit.... haha Congrats on the creativity, time, effort, and impressive fruits of your labor. Just curious..... do you have any future projects in your thoughts or do you still have your hands full with polishing this venture?
