  1. Dog #3 added three weeks ago.

    She’s growing. She’s hyper. She’s learning.

Potty training is going well. She hasn’t gone in the house yet. She knows to whine at the door.

She gets along with the other two dogs, the cats and rabbits are adjusting.

I take her to work sometimes so she can play with the dispatchers. She peed in there. Once.

Introduced her to our K9 Bosco and they get along just fine.

Awesome, congrats! That's my breed right there (as &*%#&$# weird as they can be).

Hope you have energy and are a fast runner.

  2. Saw this thread today after a morning play sesh with my husky. She's absolutely loving this cold winter and at 11 years old it's great to see her bouncing around like she was 5. I'll try and get pics next time, I was just excited to see her move so fast!

Bumping this back up, hope everyone's pups are doing well!

  3. Huh, I didn't know that... Even so, some shops don't want to play that game at all, and will turn you away, or even fail you even if you show them it's legal. You don't have to ask me how I know.

I can imagine that's the case at some places. I however showed them the code section, if they want to fail you due to a legal mod, I would just go elsewhere (and not pay them, of course).

When you're in the right, you have the power to do as you please.

  4. An intercooler replacement is not a violation of smog laws in CA. I have the printout somewhere with the code section, but I kept it handy (when I was in CA) in the glovebox for that very reason. A non-recirculating BOV however, would fail the test.

Like Rhitter said, the catch can (ironically, since it doesn't actually hurt anything) will fail visual.

  5. Well - our Shiba is sending signals that he's ready to go. He sleeps like an old man, struggles with every function there is, and just looks at us with tired eyes that seem to beg, "please let me go". We've done everything humanely possible to keep him healthy and well, but I think the time has come to do everything we can to finally let him sleep, uninterrupted, in his final resting place.

This video was helpful in reaching our decision for him.

Looking for plans to build his internment box. Will be hard to do this after nearly 17 years. What a great run this guy has had.

We'll get you there soon buddy. You've earned it.

I'm sorry to hear that SBT, hope all is well with you and your buddy.

17 years is a good run, I'm sure it was full of countless great memories. Keep those in mind.

  6. Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've posted but I've lurked now and then :p

I have had the desire to add another pup to the family for quite some time now, but did not since I was renting. With my new home and large yard, I'm getting closer to making this happen. I currently have an awesome 11yr old Husky (shown) that while a little slower than she used to be, is still able to handle a pup companion in my opinion.

SO, on to the point. If anyone knows of a litter of the following please let me know.

    • Husky/German Shepherd Mix
    • Full GSD
    • Full Husky
    • Any husky/and or GSD mixed with either other shepherds, cattle dogs, similar lines.

Of course I'm checking all the shelters I can, but I imagine a pup like this won't last a day in such a place.

    Thanks guys/gals!

edit: No clue why the photo is rotated, my original is not.

  7. Installed the '15 STI steering rack in my '08 SpecB and it hasn't shown and problems with the VDC yet. The local Audi dealer supplied N10218708 jam nut worked perfect for the narrow profile needed. Directly associated with the rack, I also installed the whiteline KCA313 bump steer kit and the AVO steering rack bushings.

I only put 10 miles on the car so far because I also rebuilt the brake calipers, installed stainless brake and clutch lines, installed whiteline top hats and bushings in the front rear and differential, painted my rear subframe and installed Koni struts and sti Pinks (wagon). It was a short test run before looking over everything again.

It might not have been enough miles to register a check light? I'll update if I run into any problems and once I get it aligned.

That's great! I hope it continues to work without VDC issues. Looking to make this swap in the next year.

  8. Hello everyone,

I would like to hear from anyone who has a 2007+ that has had the new smog test while a tune is on the car removing certain codes (in particular, the air pump delete).

PM me if you feel more comfortable with that, but I'm in the middle of a rebuild and would rather not spend a ton on factory air pump parts if this isn't actually an issue.

  9. Sorry for the slow response, I just saw this question... no, I never did. I still want to, but it's going to be a while. Lots of other stuff on my to-do list these days. But it helps that the days are getting longer now. :)

Crap, I have to do that too. Busy season at work hit and now I have no life :(:spin:

  10. So what's the deal with the 5mt clutch vs the 6mt clutch. I've mostly heard that you can't reuse it, but this thread over on NASIOC contradicts that.

    http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=872902

    05-09 LGT clutches are push-to-disengage, and 04-?? 6MT clutches are pull-to-disengage (04-08 at least, maybe 04-current, I don't know). That guy's WRX was probably pull-style as well.

You might be able to reuse an LGT flywheel and clutch but I'm pretty sure you'd need a pressure plate that moves in the right direction, and at that point I can't help. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't.

The 6MT clutches tend to be stronger than the 5MT equivalents so compare specs before you make up your mind.

There are 5 speed pull type clutches. That is likely the ones you've heard can be used.

Our 5speeds our push type, as NSFW mentioned, but no, the flywheel cannot be used with the 6 speed plate. Different diameter and bolt patterns.
