  1. Neat to find the auto leveling device for the headlights on the rear suspension arm/ just tacked it on going down the line. ( I do have a complete wiring harness from an S402 but hesitated installing the leveling unit. Chasing Electric gremlins is a skill I lack.)
  2. My son checks the hight, “could be lower Dad”, he says. My back says no.
  3. Saw this at WBM- always a favorite of mine to pass by. That color and build quality in person strikes inspiration. IMG_4851.MOV
  4. Another item off the list. Easiest Sunday project to date. (Leaves time to vacuum-yikes)
  5. Indeed- I figure there are plenty of replacement dash’s available if all goes south. I have the center speaker as well-it’ll need it’s own power source-lots of rewiring. “TightFit Fabrication” has helped a bunch for adaptors. fingers crossed
  6. Thanks! I was in Chitown for 15 years but moved East 3years ago. RI/Ocean State for now.
  7. It’s that time of year so on go the BBS with some original spec 235/40/18s. Great ride quality with plenty of grip-no more “pucker factor” on road imperfections. I do park 10’ from the curb these days. car is also much lighter on its feet-but just bling.
  8. Finished up the top-just have to install a ‘15 WRX sunroof/light control
  9. Updated the original 09 Nav with Pioneer single din touch screen but kept the OG McIntosh down below. Some convincing was needed since the McIntosh is from a rhd. (Just climate controls work-radios all up top) also a few “Piano Black” vents as well.
  10. Thank you sir! Appreciate the info-keep it coming if you come across more. Thanks!
  11. After 3 years hanging around in my garage, the heart of the 402 finally gets a short road trip to the SubaruShop. Big shout out to the random construction guy working on my neighbors house that came over and helped me drag the engine into the truck.( he must have took pity on me as he watched my struggle) Unfortunately there’s nothing too special about the block (ej255-not a 257). The heads will get pulled and of course the turbo ( I basically bought a hunk of metal with a rare VF-51 attached). And the time has come to ask your friends: “hey man, do you have an S402 downpipe for sale? There’s a guy on the forum that needs one.” The twin scroll flange has a ‘unique’ shape. Making one may be the route to go.( unless you know a guy who knows a guy. I’m happy to travel, but not across the pond-thanks!)
  12. Thank you sir! I was wondering where these went.(don’t have that bracket though-hhmm ) Keep it coming-I need the help and appreciate the link! Thanks
  13. At the heart of the new suspension set up are the s402’s 3 unique bars: a Flexible tower bar(thanks Ethan Nakaya) flexible lower arm bar and a flexible floor bar for the rear.
  14. Added an EU console as well-sorting out the ashtray. I don’t think they made the 402’s piano black ashtray option for LHD?( ever offered in the Tuned by STI version?)Even with the Macintosh center radio(stock in the pic)above the ashtray pictured, it’s not lining up-I’ll have to coat a LHD piece..
  15. Why is the exhaust so rusty? It’s a Stromung full exhaust from a LGT group buy from like 8-9 years ago?( Infamouse Mike organized it. ) Love the deep sound and its held up thru multiple Chicago winters( no more salty drives I say). Thanks again Mike!
  16. @seanyb505all set brother-AVOs were more rust color than orange, so Cusco goes in.
  17. Front suspension is all in place with the STI 15+ steering rack in. Greased all the joints-hope it’s quiet once I get it back on the road.( new whiteline ball joints in the front arms as well-probably take a few hundred miles for everything to settle in together.) Added new wheel well liners too-hard to not want to replace every part once you get going.
  18. Soft stock steering joint replaced with an STI one. (Brought the whiteline ends over from the old rack as well. )
  19. just a disclaimer- I have been able todo this project because of all the amazing detailed build threads on this site. I'm just posting a lot of more "finished" pics as I go and not detailing every step.. Happy to go back and take more pics or answer questions as I go. So far-and I'm nervous- no problems have arisen so there's not much to tell. (of course I haven't gotten into he engine yet- I'm sure my questions will start to spill over and 'WTF's emojis)
  20. No problems so far- the calipers came with the front axel with hubs so besides new rotors, it booted right in. Silly me I tried OEM length braided cables but they’re too short(tried to save a few bucks) so I’m running the s402 stock brake lines for now-probably get some STI steel ones down the ‘lines’. (the brake dust shields needed alittle TLC but nothing surprising ) so it fits but I haven’t driven it yet -supply chain hiccups have a few parts on the way so it’s just puttered in and out of the garage..(no squeaky sounds yet but we’ll see how it all does next week if I get my parts. hopefully the alignment is cake as well. )
  21. Waiting on some dust caps. Should poke the front up to level off with the rear. never had actual Brembos before-and it’s a tiiiight fit. Probably why the OEM car had BBS wheels (wonder if/ how much more clearance than the current 18” rim)
  22. Just waiting for the STI steering shaft to arrive and I should be able to see how it all came together this weekend.
  23. Thanks Doc- and wow-what a resource Zero1 provided. really appreciate pointing me in that direction. Zero1 and I should have sister cars once I'm done.(if he still has it/threads been quiet as of late)
  24. very nice. I'm doing the same to my DGM '09. You saved me many days of headaches-thanks for all the posts. ( can't believe you found a complete kick plate s402 set-well done. want your floor mats as well) When Im done we should meet up-cars should look identical..
