  1. Yea, I didnt have them either, which was weird. My buddy who had a wrx with a full sti swapped motor, was very disgusted with the design on these gaskets in the legacy....then why I was contemplating what to do, I came across those online, which is the way his were set up on his car...so he was shocked to see the design on the legacy...There is enough clearance for me to slide these in there, and probably just leave the stock flush ones in there as well...only solution we could come up with, without removing entire manifold...
  2. The gasket is listed as an OEM part, used to come between the intake mani and the valves below, it was a one piece gasket on the STi's and WRX's, instead of 4 circle rings sitting flush on the upside of the mani, they sit flush and you tighten down the mani to the valves with the gasket in there...

  3. No, it's not possible in mine trust me. We had 2 people, and dental picks, etc...the fuel lines are maybe 1/4" above the manifold where it crosses over. Pass side was fine, took like 10 min, drivers said, forget...I am however just going to get the one piece gasket that sits between the mani and tumbler valves, there is no way I'm getting these ones out...are there instructions on removing the manifold? I searched on here, but the site sucks for searching things that you actually need.
  4. http://legacygt.com/forums/%5Bimg%5Dhttp://farm6.static.flickr.com/5260/5508313848_e3b9681ed8_z.jpgFinished this up last weekend, night and day difference. Sanded, painted black, with mdx projector bowls, and shields, as well as tsx-r glass. The pic of the cutoff is me holding the projector against the wall, the real cut off is amazing and will post pics of them on the car when the weather allows me to do so.

  5. I got the connectors out, I'm talking about the actual wires that are run to the connectors, etc...(may be different on my 08 vs and 05-07, not sure) but I just baked them in the oven with the light, seemed fine, just pulled it apart and realized there was no way to get it out anyways, the connector wont fit through the grommet. These are a spare set of lights I bought anyways, so worse comes to worse I have an extra harness. Plus I may not be using these anyways as I am doing the MDX retro. So far so good, not to sand and black out. The most nerve racking part is over.
  6. I'm going to retract this recommendation for the time being. I've been trying to work with them on a BNR turbo install, they don't really seem to helpful to me. They are giving me the vibe that they don't want anything to do with LGTs.

I first went to them with info on the BNR EVO 16g, the suggested a larger TMIC and a fuel system up grade. They went on to say they do not recommend the AVO TMIC and would not install anything similar for anyone. Ultimately, DSG suggested I buy a $1,100+ SARD TMIC from Japan.

All I wanted was a 16G with a conservative tune, stock fueling, and stock TMIC. Either there is a huge disconnect somewhere between my wants and the shops wants or I'm asking for something that can't be done. You decide.

I have heard mixed things about them, I suggest either Kaizen Tuning, who have worked on LGTs before, or Ashby Autosport (Synergy auto lab in NH), Tell them Paul (Myevodream) sent you.

50K in 4 years! Yes that's good for a garage queen! :) Wow, you sure sound like you have a nice setup with a new house, and your own 08 LGT for a daily driver! :) My neighbor just bought an X as well, and it's not too bad.. the look is growing on me. He has his car under a cover most of the time too, since he can train it to work downtown. I still am stuck here in Natick with the condo.... and slowing down the the cars. Just had a daughter that's 7 months old now. The only good thing is that the wife didn't make me sell my sport bike! At least that will compete with your Evo haha.

Nice, I work in Natick now, have for a couple of years, way better than boston and the commute I used to have, hell sometimes in the summer I actually take the Evo to work! We'll have to catch up soon man, been a long time

  7. haha, still have the garage queen, she's itching to get out from under the covers and in to the great weather, almost have 50K miles on it now, (in 4 years, that's not bad, lol). Bought a house, totaled my daily subaru (someone hit me) so upgraded the DD to the 08 LGT, couldnt get away from the turbo game, lol, and I hate the Evo X, so this came natural, good to see you're still in the area, we'll have to hit up a meet sometime, and congrats on the kid!
  8. Um, Rice_rocket, holy crap, u from Evo M, dude long time no talk, where you been?! lol

I know some guys in a small shop in Wayland if you need regular stuff done. He's very competent with cars.. but if you were going for the long haul I'd probably go to DSG or definitely Paul in RI. I did a few little things and my buddy helped me out in Wayland, but I always go knowing exactly what I want done, so there's never really any problem.
  9. So was just informed that my supplier for the RX Projectors sent me new Acura MDX D2S projectors instead, since the RX ones he had looked a bit torn up. He said the reflector bowls and front halves are the same as the RX's so I should still be able to do the same swap.

Edit, found that others have done this swap also, instead of the RX projectors. So I should have the Acura MDX D2S projectors with TSX-R clear lens coming by the end of the week!

  10. Just did my first oil change on the LGT I picked up a few weeks ago, used Rotella after reading all the stuff on the forum. I also just used a subaru filter, although it was interesting that the last oil change was done at a dealer and there was a NAPA filter on there....Also, whatever dealer the PO went too.....OMG did they put the oil drain plug on tight...good thing I bought a replacement! Will post back in a bit to post oil consumption if any..
