well, I tried this today with no luck. The dame bolts were stuck, even after I used penitrating oil. :[
Mine were too. Just cut the bolts and get new ones at the hardware store.

Quick Question...
I hope the answer is yes, but will this work on my 03 legacy?!
exhaust leaks are not particular about the car they are on... Will sound different depending on the car and size of the leak.
-
I removed one washer from each bolt and I like the mod much more now.

I removed the bolts from my mufflers this morning... I knew it wouldn't be easy after looking at the rusty bolts, but didn't think it would be as hard as it was...
Lots of PB Blaster and the two bolts on the passenger side two bolts came out with the help of my 1/2" breaker bar.
The drivers side bolts were too rusty for a socket to even grip so I had to break out my dremel to cut the bolt head off. I went through several cutting wheels and then switched to a grinding wheel to get rid of the rest of the head.
Then it was time to go shopping for replacement bolts... Midway through Home Depot I realized my knees hurt and looked down only to see that my legs were bright red :-(. I forgot to wear sun screen today!

if you want actual Eibach springs. Otherwise like others have said, I'm fairly certain the Epic Engineering springs are exactly the same as Eibach springs aside from color. You could double check with FredBeansParts
Fred Beans told me they are not the same, but wouldn't really say more. I did get Eibach though as I found them for less. I haven't installed them yet though.
-
Sounds good. I think the Eibach are for me then. I'm considering pairing them with some KYB GR2 struts for a cheap comfortable setup with less body roll.
-
Thanks! So I take it Eibach will be a bit more comfortable DD and epic a bit more performance orientated?
-
Anyone know the difference between Eibach Pro Kit and Epic Engineering springs?

Dis this yesterday. What a PITA! The hub pulled out away from the bearing and we had to beat everything free.
My torque wrench only goes to 150lbs so I put it to there and then a 1/4 turn.
-
I just looked here as I'm planning on replacing a bad bearing tomorrow and almost had a heart attack as I realized that my socket set doesn't go as high as 32mm... The nearest Sears is an hour and a half away...
Then I realized that the socket I use to 'socket' mod Sennheiser HD414 pads to use on Grado headphones is 32mm and I was fine again!
I believe my torque wrench only goes to 120lbs... I'm thinking tighten as tight as I can with my breaker bar?

Fun stuff. I grew up in SD. Lots of great weather to watch!

He posted a seemingly valid reason on nyspeed. Will just have to wait and see what transpires. I've seen him on some local boards, but never had any dealings myself with him.

I just ordered some Osram Rallye H7 bulbs for lows, HIR 9011 for highs and some Philips Xtreme Power 9007 bulbs for my 98 Outback. I can't wait!
-
My '98 Outback was towed to the mechanic today... Looks like new headgaskets are in order 216k on it, all else is good though.
-
Prob no need to do head gaskets until you notice a symptom.
My 98 has 216k, over heated once, black gunk in the coolant. No symptoms I noticed before, I smelled the coolant a couple months ago and didn't notice anything. Im having it towed to a shop next week. My roadside will cover all but $10 to get it towed... I figure that's cheap insurance that I shouldn't have to replace anything more serious than headgaskets. Estimated cost... $1400-1700.
