  5. Just bought a 96 Legacy L Wagon 5spd today with 166K for $2400 Question: I have no records for this car. At 166k miles, the timing belt must have been replaced at some point am I right? Any other maint. I should just go ahead and do? It's getting an oil change, coolant is clean and green, small oil leak, all other fluids look good and axles look fine. Thoughts? thanks

  10. its been a couple months and ive done a few road trips and when they look great in pics, in person not so much. plus I'm sick of people lying. body perfect, no leaks and when i get there banged up with oil everywhere...:uh: But yes, luckily I'm not in a hurry...

  14. well i found 2 brightons that are 5spd so i wouldnt need to do a auto to 5spd swap. However, i'd still need to swap in power locks/windows and cluster with tach.
  15. Is it a good idea iyo to go for a 2.2L over the 2.5L even with the power loss? The 2.5 seems pepy enough but don't want to be hating life with a 2.2l. (manual fyi)

  19. I was looking at buying a 98 outback limited 5spd with 83k miles but it's leaking oil and I can't tell from where. Drives great though. Any suggestions?
  20. any quality tire wont suddenly fail if it has a slight stretch. I would do a plus one stretch but that would be my limit. meaning 235/40 max, i would go 225/40. but maybe I am biased to manuf. specs considering for 5 years I communted 80 miles a day, 7 days a week doing 75 mph running 80 psi on 35 psi max tires, oh and with 2" extended upper control arms.
