  1. First I've seen.

How did you end up wiring it?

I wouldnt mind one but would prefer a more integrated diffuser housing.

I just connected into the wires of the redlight bulb in the following fashion

Red > Bl & white OEM

    Black > Black OEM

    Yellow > Brown

The WRX harness is a little different so that threw me off

  2. Hello Everyone,

 so I got excited and was installing the F1 style light on my gladman diffuser just because cool factor. I got up to the wiring part and I thought the wiring would be the same as on a wrx (I know I know never ASSUME) and of course it is not.

Most install videos show splicing the harness before the connector in the following way:

Red > Bl & white OEM

    Black > Black OEM

    Yellow > Brown

Of course our connector looks like this

Only one the same is the brown one. However, in front of the connector the wires going into our red light bulb have the Bl & White , Black and brown wires

Does anybody know which is which wire our harness or why I shouldn't splice the wires going into the red bulb.

    Thanks

  3. I don't think there is an option. Correct me if I'm wrong....

Actually I found the following options:

    https://www.greatnorthperformance.com/product-page/2010-2012-legacy-lightweight-crank-pulley

    or

    https://www.greatnorthperformance.com/product-page/2012-17-lightweight-crank-pulley

But for use with -2010-2012 Legacy GT must be used with Subaru part number 12339AA010 (some adapter)

  4. My serpentine belt has been squealing a lot since last weekend so I bought a new OEM belt. I was planning to install this weekend along with my Perrin light weight crank and water pump pulley, but after doing some research I’ve seen some people claiming that the lightweight pulleys can cause damage to the engine. I also found this video

Can anyone advise me whether I should install the Perrin pulleys or not?

Good timing I am having the same debate need to change my belt too. lol if you do it I'll do it

  5. To adjust the light it should be a 10mm or 12 mm nut on the back of the headlight easy to access.

Thanks, so I guess there are 2 , 1 high beam and one low beam? Any chance you know the specs I thought I read hear 25 ft away light has to be 4 ft off the ground?

    Thanks

  6. Reviving this thread, so I finally got to installing these cough cough 4 years later forgot to check this thread and also learned that the pass side does not fit well :spin::spin::spin::spin::spin: and so before I try this again looking for some tips on how the metal was massaged? I was tempted to cut but probably not a good idea.

My second question is how do you adjust the light height on these, is it that long skinny bolt coming out the back

    Thanks

  7. even at the crank that's impressive hp, these cars are known to pretty easily get those kind of torque figures but power in the upper rev range eludes most of us... what kind of mods have you done?

I have a whole bunch of mods but, Engine wise I have a bigger TMIC racer x, invidia exhaust header back, racer X charge pipe, 1 step colder plugs, ported wastegate on turbo, tuned on dyno by Lachute perfromance @19 psi, to have realiability, I have 215 hp at the wheels, the dyno it was tuned on MAHA LPS 3000 PKW, I could probably get more but was recommended keeping the boost below 20 psi, car feels nice...... lol you interested?

  8. 350/350? at the wheels? how the hell did you get that much HP with such limited torque? i live not too far from you in vermont, i would love to see that thing move.

oops I should have specified that is at the shaft, from memory I dont have the graph with me but at the wheels is was in the 2xx ish , I remember there was about 75 hp lost in the drivetrain losses. lol 350 to the wheels would be awesomer

  9. Anybody looking for a 2010 legacy gt??? Maybe a mid life crisis thing but eyeing a 2018 sti.....Leggy is Graphite Grey fully equipped (that is the only version we got in Canada)... 60,000 km (37,000 miles yes no typo)... 350 hp / 350 torque... I 'm original owner, asking price not sure yet ...

Montreal, quebec .... tastefully modded .... just thoroughgoing this feeler out there as I mull this over ...

  10. I was thinking that a prior owner could have done the swap, but I searched the CA Autotrader and found another 2010 leather interior GT and it also had the silver trim as well. It seems like the CA GT didn't get the wood trim.

That is correct in Canada we only have one legacy gt model the fully equipped one with silver trimmings, I believe you guys in the US had a few options.

  11. Powerstop Z26-1001 // 961 for my brembos (2011sti) the hawk hps pads squeal, and i'm fed up with them, i'm told the z26s are great for no squeal.

Please share if these pads eliminate the squeal, I have the exact same issue must be a Montreal thing, I have tried 2 types of anti-noise lube, I even bought these project mu rubber shims that was supposed to eliminate the noise, I was running brembo calipers /dba disks/brembo pads -squeal, I just switched to hawp HPS and you guessed it squeal, I was now thinking DBA pads or Carbotech ...... :spin::spin::spin::spin:.... that squeal is driving me nuts......

When I had my forrester I was running oem calipers/ hawk pads & dba rotors no squeal

  12. People weren't buying it for 346 and getting an additional 25% off. One the reasons why it is more expensive is that the list price has gone up. It was $399 and now its $444. I bought it on the 25% off deals for subaru part warehouse and it was great deals. I want to say that I paid $316 shipped. Unless someone is clearing inventory your probably not going to be able to match deals of a few years ago.

    Here you go

    http://parts.bestbuysubaru.com/p/Subaru_2010_/STI-Short-Throw-Shifter/49924576/C1010AJ100.html

but looks like same vendor better deal

is this the same short throw shifter? Amazon.com: SUBARU STI SHORT THROW SHIFTER: Automotive
  13. Honestly I don't know!

I heard the initial ones from the other vendor had that issue & it had been corrected but I cannot speak for these relays.

I think I am the first one to buy this for the 5th gen from this vendor.

I pulled the trigger on these as the vendor was willing to ship USPS which avoid us Canadians the costly broker fees of the FedEx & other companies.

Any reviews on the vendor? What about the relay? I heard some kits have the wrong relay.
